Son of a...

My last final exam (May 29th) was stolen and some punk who thinks he's a hero decided to put it online. Now the exam has been moved to May 30th and everyone has been stressing out.
The dude said he heard of 6 separate exams being stolen, and he wanted to stop those people from gaining an advantage. He described his act himself as 'a drastic step to improve the quality of education' since it's so easy to steal an exam, apparently.
I kinda get why he's done it, but now near 17.000 students who take French have to wait another day. The people who make the exams didn't have enough time to bring all schools a back-up exam.
I'm just pissed at this guy (could be a girl, as well; the person remained anonymous) for thinking he's some sort of hero for doing this. A lot of people already had their vacation planned and he just sits there, smiling, feeling so good about himself and thinking he's f*cking Julian Assange.

I went in to work today and the mean manager pulls me to the side of the main door and tells me they had to let a lot of people go. I happened to be one of them. I'm not sure why, since managers constantly tell me how I'm one of the best workers there.

Well, now I have more time to lurk on THB, at least.

And that's how he told you? "Before you go in there, Joey, you should know that a lot of people were let go today. Now try to guess if you were one of them." Sounds like a cruel prank.

At least things are picking up. You should be able to find an even better job. Good luck.

Hope you find a better working place, Joey. Lucky for me I don't work with mean people. The company actually focuses on friendliness. That said, things get busier and hectic when the district manager comes to town.

Another thing about the company: They recently got the world record for the most simultaneous high-fives.

Since it takes two people to do a high-five, I expected the record to be an even number.

Maybe they group 2 people as one group? So there's a chance it could still be an odd number. Although that would make it harder to one-up other attempts.

You can have 3 people high fiving with both hands eachother, right? So any number of people can form a circle and high five both their neighbors?

I also pictured a group of three people each using both hands to simultaneously high-five the other two. This would be a good solution for the occasional "odd man out" when the event organizer tells everyone to pair up.

So I FUCKING FINALLY got 100% sync in AC3. What a pain in the butt. The actual missions themselves are pretty doable, but fucking leaving half the map foggy after synchronizing all the viewpoints, and not mentioning anything about it? That's just a dick move, especially if I'm looking for these menial "get 5 bear pelts"-quests, which shouldn't take longer than half a minute because it's not engaging at all.

And who the hell decided the Encyclopedia of the Common Man would be a good idea?! Seriously, FUCK THAT THING. I spent two hours this afternoon trying to complete the Lumberers entry, but all the two fucksticks would do is smoke, fish, check their cart and chop wood. Only one of those is a scannable action. And then when I looked it up on the internet, it was one of the twats wives that was churning butter! THAT IS NOT FUCKING LUMBERING
And then with the Tailor. I spent an hour just running between her and the Norris, but she just kept sowing the same fucking jacket all the time, or would drink tea with her friends.
Seriously, whoever greenlighted that idea deserves an axe to the head.

Oh, and the minigames? Screw those. I thought I'd be fine just leaving them for what they were, but nooooooo, you have to earn 500 pounds from minigames! And then I don't know the bloody game, so I lose six times over until I decide to grab a fucking computer and just let the AI play for me. You know you blew it when people start doing shit like that.

Dear Ubisoft: STOP WITH ALL THE EXTRA FUCKING DICKWAVING AROUND, IT'S FUCKING USELESS. Collectibles, fine. A few on topic challenges (ie. STEAL money if you're a THIEF, HUNT if you're a HUNTER, etc.), okay. That serves to enhance the world. But the last 20 hours of play on my save (that's HALF) were just spent on doing all the dickwaving around. Fuck that noise.

Or at least some security that they won't dump you in another month... it'd be better for you to take two more weeks off and find a place that would appreciate you a little more... that is, if you can afford not working.

The thing is, I can't, really. I'm planning a big trip to the UK around the end of the year or January of next. I could live there for a few months from what I have now easily, but coming back would decimate the remainder. And I've been looking for jobs, asking friends to put my name into places. Until then, I'll take this deli's money.

Wait.... why did I put this in the Rant Thread?

You can make one. Wink

Sometimes I fucking hate myself. Got the absolute smoothest Tamir assassination segment for my speedrun today, WR blitz, fucking perfect. The only thing I missed was the animation skip when getting up in the Bureau, and that apparently takes 3 seconds, so it's no faster than the segment I had before this which was sloppy as hell. (Yes, 3 seconds lost is sloppy as hell by my standards). I also thought I had a video of a WR blitz for Talal ready to go, but it turns out I can save another half second. Oh well, at least it should be easy because I know exactly how it works now.

So, yeah, stay tuned for new WR blitzes for Tamir and Talal. Wink

I just saw your Blitzes and I actually laughed due to happiness. Like you know when you see something that's so nice you laugh? It's not a funny laugh, it's more like a "Hahahaha that's awesome!" The Tamir one was so legit, I'll probably try it myself when I get my PS3 back.

So for my university stuff, I negotiated with them to keep me on the enrollment list, and now I've basically got the two high school credits I was missing. However, I logged into my account and it says that my Tuition Fee was refunded (which doesn't make SENSE because I never PAID IT) and that my courses have been reset. School pls.

This is insane. I have to talk to them on Monday (deliver them my credits in, I quote 'sealed envelopes')

Some profanity within. Spoilers up to end of AC3 within.

http://sparkedsynapse.tumblr.com/post/60049626043/why-i-love-assassins-c...

I’m depressed.

I’m going to talk about why I love the Assassin’s Creed games so much.

First, the gameplay. This is the easiest part. The gameplay is free, open and it allows me great agency. When I play Assassin’s Creed, I feel in control. I feel powerful. I feel like I am in control of my own life and destiny. When I play Assassin’s Creed, I can go anywhere, do anything, perform any action I want, good or bad - and it won’t matter because if I’m skilled enough I can get out of it with minimal consequences. I love Assassin’s Creed because it gives me freedom.

Story.

What is it about Assassin’s Creed and its characters that gets me? Well here’s the thing; it’s about a battle that can never be won. Altair keeps trying. Ezio keeps trying. Connor keeps trying. Edward, he’s gonna keep trying. Desmond, he kept trying and even after he died they still didn’t win. Lucy. Clay. All of these people died. They lost their lives, the ultimate thing they possessed and they still haven’t won. The Templars are still in control. And yet they fight. They resist. Because no one else will.

They never get recognized. They never get any respect or love, they’re always in the shadows. Most of the time, they lose the things that make them happy. Most of the time, they lose their happiness. But they have to make that sacrifice, because no one else is going to. They fight back, against a faction that always bounces back, who always tells them they’re going to lose for an eternity. And they still fight on.

I love Assassin’s Creed because it’s about a group of characters who know that what they’re doing is impossible, that they ARE NEVER GOING TO WIN! But they DO it ANYWAY. They STILL fight. THEY STILL RESIST. And they break themselves. They lose the people they love and in most cases, they are never happy! The only times that they can really allow themselves to feel true peace are when they die. Maybe this is why they respect death so much. For its ability to equalize, to bring peace.

I love Assassin’s Creed because sometimes life feels really unfair. Really, really unfair. No matter how much I try, no matter how much I fight, I will lose. Whatever is opposing me, whoever is opposing me, they’ll win. But the Assassins don’t give up. They’re stupid and they’re foolish and they’re dumb but they get up and they keep trying. Just like me. I’m a fucking idiot… No matter how many times I get ripped apart, I just get up like a fucking dumbass and I keep trying.

They’re lonely. Assassins are lonely. They’re heroes and no one even knows their names. They lose everything to try to make the people they love happy, and no one appreciates that. By the time they do, it’s already too late. And the Assassins and Templars may fight for another hundred years, and the Templars may be the leaders of society for eternity, but the Assassins will not stop! We will not give up! Because so long as there is someone to openly oppress people’s freedom, we will fight back, we will oppose them.

As long as there is someone or something who is determined to make the people I love unhappy, I will resist it. I will fight them until the day I die, even though I know I will never win.

I love Assassin’s Creed because it’s about a fight that can never be won… And about the pained, hurt, dirty and disappointed people who pick up their blades and fight again - even though they’ll never be happy.

I love Assassin’s Creed because I feel like its characters. I am Desmond and his bewilderment with the world, his desire to run away from his problems. I am Altair and his cold, jaded nature because of the sorrow this world has given him. I am Ezio and his slow aging into an old man because of how much life has stripped away from him. I am Ratohnhake:ton/Connor and his burning desire for justice. I am Lucy, left alone to the point of turning evil. I am Clay, with his singular purpose and his painful final moments, living for someone else’s sake. I am an Assassin. And as long as Templars exist to hurt those I love, I will extend my blades and hunt them down.

Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

i'm not usually one who gets mad at games, but this one just pissed me off

Team Fortress 2
was playing Payload. as medic on attacking side.
it was the best game i've ever had as medic.

i got an achievement for over 7000 heal points in one life, like 4 invincibilitys in that life
we were pushing that bomb up real fast.

like 10 meters away from the goal, enough of the enemies ragequited, so that the the teams needed to be rebalanced and i went on the defenders and lost a minute later.

So the friend that I was planning on going to Scotland with? We had a little falling out (we both wanted to get away for a while, but we found out we'd drive each other crazy if we did).

So I have that money to save, I guess, but all this planning has kind of gone down the drain. So I'm a little bummed out. :/

The article makes it seem like it's a huge joke, but complete bed rest can actually have some pretty profound effects on the human body, since the body operates largely on a "use it or lose it" basis.

I wouldn't participate in this study, not even if they gave me $100 000.

I'm not really an aggressive person (any post that starts with that sentence has got to be good).

But do you know those people that you really care about and love to talk to, but they get easily offended? Even if they should get your sense of humor by now? Today, I decided to stand up for myself for the first time in a long time to this person.

Now, this person has gotten so offended sometimes, that I have to think about every single sentence, the tone, even the word choice, before I open my mouth and let the sounds escape. Lately, when we text or Skype one another, we haven't been as talkative. They said that I was boring and I'm no fun to hang around with anymore.

Huh...wonder why! Maybe because anything I tell you is going to make you feel like I slapped your mother in the face with a wet fish? That of which holds back most topics that I'd usually mention in an average conversation. Perhaps YOU'RE the one that ruins the conversations?

I'm all for avoiding particular touchy topics for friends if it affects them that much, but not when it damages our social lives. Of course, mentioning these things got them riled up and we had a huge argument. Them being stubborn as hell, they wouldn't consider the possibility that I was speaking of.

These types of people annoy the hell out of me. If you have those problems, then I hope you can work them out. But if you refuse to listen to others' opinions about your habits in that field, you need to seriously work on yourself. Be more open to what others think, especially when they're your close friends.

I just unlocked Altair Outfit in AC3 and DEAR GOD it look horrible XD.

I mean, did they had 0 effort in porting the outfit from ACR? His robes don't even move, it's looks like is glued to his legs.

All the effort for nothing Crying. Also, I would prefer the Florence Assassin than the Rome Assassin robes to represent Ezio, I think is more iconic.

After last Sunday I'm done with ACIV. If u watched the walking dead you probably saw the AC tv spot using Drake's'Started from the bottom' as the song. I understood why they used that song but regardless hip hop and AC should stay far away from each other.Seriously who ever is in charge of marketing at ubisoft needs a slap to the face.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which

I had the same feeling. The song's meaning fits Edward's story, but compared to the other commercials/trailers and the music choice, it doesn't work well. It made me sneer in disgust when I realized which song it was.

already sent a mail to the store i bought it from.

trying to file a complaint on USPS website.
only problem is, there's a form to fill in.
said form requires me to put in my adress, so it's easier to know which order i'm talking about, i guess

it is as far as i can tell, impossible to put in a non-american adress in the form, even though i ticked the "international" box

Well this sucks. Warner Bros claimed copyright on an old video of mine (a mashup of Home Alone and Dark Knight) because it contained audio from The Dark Knight trailer. So I had to switch the audio. I looked up a song appropriately named "Unfair". Of course I could have disputed it, but that might be a big hassle. Now I have to worry about my Youtube account being in good standing. I did take a copyright school afterward to help restore my account's good name. It was basically a cartoon video starring a character from Happy Tree Friends and also a short quiz was included.

I can't blame Youtube when it comes to people and companies claiming copyright; they don't want to get into trouble. But when it comes to the people in question who are being stingy with things as simple as movie trailers which are suppose to be publicly viewed anyway, grrr.

Okay, I've found out a bit more about the copyright issues. Youtube recently had a stricter change with their content ID matches, and now a lot of people's videos are getting blocked for containing a little bit of owned content, such as gameplay footage and even background music (ever heard of "fair use"?). A famous Youtuber even ranted about over sixty videos of his getting blocked (one of them was just an interview, no gameplay footage at all). And from what I heard the companies aren't even claiming copyright over the content, even though that's what it says when the videos get blocked. It's just a poor attempt to stop piracy that punishes the rest of us. And it doesn't help it was sneaked on us.

This may just be a more subtle version of S.O.P.A.....

It's time an alternative to YouTube popped up.

Okay I'm losing my mind because the Champions League draw has been correctly predicted by a Twitter account called @uefacorruption
The tweets were sent roughly a day before the draw and every single pairing has been predicted correctly.
F-ing UEFA...

Nothing new. Fifa and UEFA are a bunch of corrupt bastards.

You know what sucks? Having plans and ambitions to complete a lot of personal projects (Youtube, certain recordings, art commissions, actually hanging out with people more than once a week, etc) and having weather, car issues, work, and family problems taking up all of your time. It's been like this for over a month and I have almost no time to do anything except a doodle on my tablet right before I head to bed. Plus, after being accepted back into college and told to wait for a response, I still haven't heard anything.

I feel like I'm letting people down somehow, but it's completely out of my control.

I've hardly ever been that busy. That really sucks, Joey.

I know the feeling of having plans and not getting anything done, but it's usually because I'm being lame. Tired No excuses.

It looks like weather really has been an issue in your part of the country, Joey. It was on the national news every day for a week.

You won't even feel the blade.
