I would be so lucky if they weren't so greedy. They ask for rent from me knowing that I'm paying for college myself. Tongue

I must be the black sheep because I didn't attend college. The thing is my family knows people who went to college and were unable to find a job. FLAE's eye roll I know someone here who could compete with McStab's education, but that person might not want to be mentioned. Quest

ASSASSIN'S GREED UNITY, END OF GAME SPOILERS

Spoiler: Highlight to view
Wait just a second... when did Arno get allowed back into the Brotherhood? I mean... he was stripped of all ranks, goes on a goose chase of a personal vendetta, kills his guy and... earns his Master Assassin Robes? WTF? At least have an interactive cutscene of him going back to the council with this news, them allowing him back in on the condition that he plays by the rules of the creed and plays well with others (thus, also telling us, the consumer, to go have fun in co-op).

Oh dear. The PS network is still down.

Thankfully I can upload videos by transferring them to a memory card first. I hope the other PS4 Youtube gamers know about that.

I haven't even played any games since Christmas Eve (maybe before that?). I'm glad I got the disc version of Shadow of Mordor, though. I've been dying to play that game again.

I'm just going to rant now.

I'm going to the Rose Bowl tomorrow and I got parking online for relatively cheap that is soon enough for us to go tailgating first... but the parking is 1 block off the parade route so I don't know if I'll even be able to get to the lot until later, ugh....

I take back all my rants about the parking, it was great. I have something else to rant about:

AFTER the game we go to walk to the shuttle. We see the line, it comes out of the gate, turns follows the fence, and we finally get to the end of the line. As we get back to where it (used to) turn 10 minutes later, we're told it wasn't the line at all and the line continues to go straight where it used to turn. There were DOZENS of people in charge there when the line turned and ZERO told the thousands of people at the time that it wasn't a line. There was no signage, etc...

We skipped the shuttle and walked the 2 miles to our car.

Just before moving from CT to CA, I finally found a group of people with whom to play board games. We're not talking Monopoly, Apples to Apples or Uno, but honest strategy based board games. I bought a game to play, it works best with 6 people, and we had the people to play it a couple times. Then I moved.

Now I can't find as many people to play board games regularly. Sure, I've gotten another friend addicted to Dominion, but that's one game (okay, 8 games with all the expansions) and gets repetitive when it's all the dude wants to play. I wanted to eventually move on to the four hour long struggles of strategy games like Dominant Species or A Game of Thrones. At least we finally got him to branch out to Ticket to Ride and Settlers of Catan (even if I'm not a huge fan of Settlers).

It's just hard to get to a new place and invite people over to play a 4+ hour board game when you don't know them that well.

Meh. I told my wife the night before that we were going to lose, so I was prepared for it. Too many things going the wrong way for the Ducks in that last week. Got beat by a team that played much better than the Ducks down the stretch and peaked at the right time. Still one hell of a season.

Decided to be proactive.

I have 12-14 people coming over to my place this Saturday to learn the rules to AGoT Board Game. Even if only 50% like it and want to play again, it should make it easier to find 5 others to play for my birthday in a few weeks at least.

The bright side of the Ducks losing is that the local news will finally shut up about them. You'd think it was the Honolulu Ducks the way they've been devoting half of their broadcast time to Oregon. Why? Because Marcus Mariota was born in Honolulu and played high school football here.

Joey, any time you execute Agency of your own, any time you take steps to solve a problem or mitigate it, you are justifying your worth instantly. It was stressing you out, or it was not currently manageable, so you dropped it. You had information, and you used that information to make a decision full of intention. That's called strategy, and you executed it well. Since the stress that class would have pushed upon you isn't there anymore, you've been Active in eliminating some part of negativity from your life. I don't think anyone exists that won't say that's a GOOD MOVE. All you really have to do now is appreciate the smart move you made. You're doing a good job, and we're all with you. Smile

That's what you think....

So you get a year off, but the Ducks won't leave for long (if this kid is good enough for Oregon to offer, anyway).

Ubisoft's support team really need to learn the meaning of the word support...

My cousin bought AC4 after seeing me play it and for the past months or so we've been playing Wolfpack together, trying some Game Lab modes, or I've been helping him progress in the singleplayer. For whatever reason he encountered a problem where he would not earn any Abstergo credits (the blue currency) after finishing a multiplayer game session. In the post-game screen, he would get the message saying "+70 A" or something like that, but back at the main menu, his wallet would still be at the same number as before the game session. He still gained experience and leveled up a bunch, but he has been missing a lot of credits this way, so leveling up doesn't mean anything to him because he can't buy the things that he unlocks by leveling up. I messaged the support team about this and they gave me the generic 'We'll look into it'-message. Because I remembered having to wait a month and a half for a reply on an earlier question, I sent another message asking for a notification when the issue would be solved. The reply I got was 'When it's fixed, you'll just see so.'

Because it hasn't been fixed yet, I turn to the internet for a possible fix. If anyone knows more about this problem, please let me know.

Noooooooooooo I missed the only college football discussion THB will ever have!

You guys should be happy OSU won because my brother is a walk on! He never plays (probably because the Buckeyes are three deep at every position including quarterback) but now he's a national champion! I was on campus in Columbus after the game when students started partying in the streets until tear gas and pepper spray got involved in the celebration.

So I pulled out ACU last weekend for the first time since January 31. I had a blast with the gameplay, as always. I still had ultrablending (but no network connectivity) until I restarted the game anyway. I'm sitting on about 85% completion right now. I did my first Helix Rift mission since the intro ones I think there's some nice ideas there. Remember the animus training room in Brotherhood? I can imagine using Rift missions as a measuring stick competition, if enough people cared. Long story short, I still had fun with the game. But one thing stuck out to me.

Remember when first starting up the game you get to a Netflix style menu with everything boxed out and relive a memory as Molay? I expected more of those missions to open up, maybe as I progressed through the Rifts, for example, but they have not. Do I really not get to play any of those other 15 or so missions? Why put them as the first thing you see in the game if they're useless?

Because the "game system" you were playing on was an at-home Animus and those were the levels. The Assassins hacked your system so you'd only go through Arno's memories and not the intended time periods and characters. Besides, most of the non-existent levels are from previous AC games, so it would be just a copy/paste of a few notable missions.

Basically, it was just a tease for story purposes and nothing more.

I appreciate that it was needed for story telling. But in previous games we've gotten to play with old characters for a few new memories. ACR we got to play as Younger Ezio and as Older Altair, for instance. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that the "assassins" could have hacked your system to allow some more of these "controversial" memories be unlocked to you, the player. Even as payment for the intel you gather for them through Rifts.

I actually would've been really happy to play a bunch of different time periods with different Assassins as a nostalgic reward for going through the game. I doubt it would've been an easy part of the game to make, though. They probably didn't expect anyone would've wanted to play those. But Ubisoft has been wonderful in making decisions about content lately...

I just think it's funny that the Assassins could've gotten a hold of ANYONE. Like an incredibly out-of-shape slacker that sold his '98 Mustang for a preorder of a game console. He plays one level and suddenly he's gaming for a secret war between two ancient factions.

"MOM!! I'm gonna need some more snacks!!! I'm saving the world!!"

And then he complains about how the acting was shit on GameFAQs or something.

I was also... Well... To put it without cursing, pretty RILED UP about the fact that NONE of those settings are playable.
It would be pretty slick if AC Chronicles is what unlocks those, and if they release other games besides the first three in the Chronicles series as "unlocks" for each of those - whether paid or free.

This is sort of what I'm thinking... I'm pretty sure the 3 assassins in Chronicles were on the list. Shao Jun I think I remember for sure. And Nikolai. Maybe that's how they'll work Chronicles in as a DLC to Unity - rather than an independent title... one can hope, i guess.

Wow! Well I tried to get the gist of the rants here. It was part of the issues why I have been gone so long. I can rant for days about issues we have dealt with over the last few years, mostly unscrupulous landlords until we finally bought our home and got out from under the thumb of tyrants and liars. Then a couple years of rejoicing and freedom and busy, grateful lives. Now that things have settled down a bit, I can turn attention back to what mattered to start.
