I will google Julmust after this post, but I agree with you on the Dr Pepper, I don't know why it's so popular, it tastes like a bottle of vanilla flavouring, ghastly stuff. I want to try Mountain Dew too, I believe it has a status in America as "the geeks drink of choice", but i've never seen it sold in the UK, there's probably a counterpart, but not knowing what it tastes like, I can't tell you if i've run across it before.

Remember last year in chat how hard you and I tried to find it in America? IKEA still isn't selling it so Sweden continues to be useless to me Tongue

If I ever find out where it's available in the US I will gladly let you know. From Rob's descriptions it's too good to pass up, but then again I don't know if I can trust the taste buds of someone who dislikes Dr. Pepper.

So I recently just got this DS game. It's called Scurge: The Hive or something.
However, I don't actually have a DS.. so I'm thinking of getting one soon. Which one should I get?

I have the DS Lite, which works fine for me. I would advise it if you are just getting it to play that one game, or don't really need to surf the internet on it.

The climate is being crazy over here on Panama.
We are on December, so summer should have already started by now, yet, there is heavy rain every day and right now it's been raining for 59 hours straight (yep, I WROTE 59). Plus, its been around 20ºC in the last couple of days, very surprising, when you consider a cool temperature in here is 32ºC this time of the year. The worst part is that the rain has caused various landslides and other tragedies. A familiar of a friend died when the river near his house went up and brought the entire house with the family into it, and a landslide destroyed about half of my girlfriend's house Puzzled
On the good side, there is no school tomorrow.

I knew someone would say this. See, Panama's climate works in a bit of a strange way. There's no really winter or summer or any season, well, actually, there are, dry and rainy season(in retrospectic I should have made that point earlier Puzzled ). Rainy season starts in about mid-April and goes all the way to November, Dry season goes through the following months, therefore, my point. I think I should have kept this in my mind FLAE's eye roll Panama isn't really that interesting. I guess.

Well, Patrick, you have to look really hard. Rome is definitely one of the best places, but even there it's mostly the Castel San'Angelo that will stand out. There's lots of people at every landmark and iron fences and whatnot... Tongue

Yeah, I was thinking that it might be a disappointment as obviously the buildings would have looked more grand during the Renaissance (as well as the fact that AC makes them look perfect and very bright). I'm also all too aware of the fact that Rome can be considered quite dirty and horrible (many stories of endless graffiti and street sellers have come back with relatives).

Still, I can't wait and will almost certainly be imagining Ezio scaling some of the grander buildings Tongue

Sadly, we're not going to Venice Sad It's a shame as I'd love to go but I guess I have years for that (unless it sinks before I get the chance!)

Just had a Physics exam and, as expected, it was horrendous. The paper itself wasn't great but I also made stupid mistakes (like not being able to work out a bloody percentage properly! Tired )

Oh well, my exams are over now (for a while at least) and I can console myself by playing Assassin's Creed.

See what i did there? Console... play AC... games console...? Wink

Absolute shit-tier day today. Got insulted on some forums in a way that is particularily annoying to me, then came too late for school (wasn't written down, but still), got a grade way too low for my chem-paper, where the teacher made some unnecessary snide remarks that were, well, insulting, because I actually had done my fair share of work, more than most of my other papers. Then I had P.E., which was okay, but then I got home and got a speech on losing my graphical calculator (thing's expensive), which ended in a fight because my mother was already ticked off because of some other stuff I had nothing to do with. She didn't listen, I couldn't reason with her and at that point, I almost flipped out. Then I had to go back to school to look for the pezzo di merda. I didn't wear a coat because with 10 degrees centigrade, that's too hot (I'm serious here). She came out the front door, forced me to put a coat on. Then I came to school, thing wasn't there and here I am.

Woah, definitely not a great day for you, TLS Sad

I hate teachers who assume things and insult you for it, especially that you haven't put any effort in.

TBH, for my Physics paper I could have done a lot more revision but one teacher is hardly ever there and the other is really bad, so revising was very difficult when I didn't understand many of the concepts anyway.

I'm not too fussed because I don't want to continue Physics next year anyway (Chemistry, Biology and Theology are WAY easier and more interesting for me) but i just hope my parents don't get annoyed. They knew I was struggling so porbably won't mind but still... would have been nice to surprise them Tongue I reckon I got a C (a B at a push) so its not all bad Smile

Right now my current avrg in Chemistry is exactly a 90. I need to get it to a 92 to make it an A (all of this year's grades need to average up to that), since 90 is a B. If I can't get my overall grade in Chemistry up this year to an A, the rest of highschool will be a waste.

I seem to repeatedly getting low marks on my chem tests for some weird reason, and that brings my grade down to like an 86. And the problems is, getting an 86 is Chemistry is something to be laughed at by the other kids in my school. Everyone else seems to be having trouble in Bio, in which I have a 95. I laugh at them.

I'm sure after my mid terms and finals which are next week, life will get better. Till then, I have to study like crazy. FLAE's eye roll
Not to mention my s****y bio teacher gave us a group bio project due next week... during mid terms.

Oh, and I get to visit my wonderful uncle who has cancer and decided to stop taking the cancer meds. Yup this week is going fan-fucking-tastic.

I'm in Year 12 (are you British?) so it was an AS exam. We did Unit 2 first and the 2 modules for this exam were:

"Moving People, People Moving" which is basically mechanics, vectors, forces, acceleration etc. This stuff is all pretty simple but there was very little of it on the exam. There was no use of the mechanics (SUVAT) equations at all which really annoyed me.

"Energy changes and the Environment" which is to do with different types of electricity production, energy reaching the planet, resistance, current and voltage in different circuits etc. I find this stuff much harder but a lot of the calculation questions actually weren't that bad. The exam just seemed very odd with a whole 6 mark question asking you to explain how Wien's Law and the nature of earth's atmosphere was linked to the Greenhouse Effect. I might have blagged a few marks just by waffling Shy

TBH, that unit is all done now (although I may have to resit this time next year) so I'm just going to forget about it. Unit 1 is called "Harmony and Structure in the Universe" so its about waves, communication, music, fundamental particles (quarks etc.), again split into 2 modules for one exam.

Thanks for the offer but I'm done with Unit 2, although if I need help with Unit 1 I'll be sure to ask. Thanks! Smile

Yeah, it's quite alright. She just sometimes has these outbursts.

Ah, fair enough. That sort of thing sounds pretty familiar to me Tongue

Exactly! No idea why they put a 6 mark question on the exam about it when its such a small part of the specification. The question was very strangely worded and there didn't seem to be anything specific they were actually asking for.

I pretty much just waffled on about how the earth re-emits infrared radiation but the fact that the atmosphere, containing lots of water, oxygen and carbon dioxide, readily absorbs a lot of the infrared, maintaining an atmospheric temperature above that which would be expected. This effect is the greenhouse effect.

I think I should have mentioned that the atmosphere absorbs a lot of the infrared as it comes in from the sun and then re-emits it as heat in all directions (including towards the earth) so the temeprature rises, but I kind of explained it in the simpler way we learnt in Year 11 (that the radiation enters the atmosphere first, bounces of earth and is absorbed/trapped by the water, oxygen etc.)

I'm hopeful that I still got 3 (maybe 4) out of 6 because my explanation was correct, just a bit vague Tongue

Are you able to translate Vergilius in it's original Latin form?
Are you able to solve a mathematical problem involving complex integrals and differentials?
Are you able to understand how a electromagnetic spectrometer works and can you calculate what the particles in this EMS are given only a few variables?
Do you know how to make a dynamic model and make calculations with that?
Do you know how infinitely small numbers work?
I've got every single one of those skills, do you? Don't be such an arrogant brat. Here's a question for you: there's a satelite that goes around the earth in 2 days, 12 hours, 40 minutes and 10 seconds. Calculate the distance between the satelite and the earth's surface. You may look up any further data.

In any case, I've never heard of Wien's law, but that does not mean I haven't got my skills. I'm well aware of the fact that materials of different temperature emit different types of light, and, due to E=hf, this has higher energy, which can be converted to warmth.
