Just think of it as taking out the trash early. This video takes place when you reach the part of the game to assassinate Uberto.

Infiltration
After starting the memory "Last Man Standing" Ezio loses high profile abilities. One exception to this is jumping off walls.
During the Mercato Vecchio mission, when you pursue La Volpe's decoy in the streets, you can tackle him in a matter of seconds because he runs slowly. So you end up on the ground not very far from the market, yet the following cutscene begins with both of you on a roof by the water on the other side of the district. I thought this time/space leap could be explained if you let the thief run to see if he goes there by himself. It turns out he does run all the way to the building on which roof the cutscene begins, but he runs in circles around it instead of climbing.
So I was messing around with some guards in Venezia yesterday and happened to be near some water - as is usually the case in Venezia. One guard fell in and stayed upright, treading water. He clearly wasn't just standing on some invisible ledge under the water line and he wasn't falling either; he was waving his arms and kicking his legs just as someone treading water would do. (We took a video of him but on an iPhone so quality is too crappy to share.)
UPDATED: The photo links got broken so I somehow managed to restore them.
I'm sure this has been brought up before, but Ezio can accomplish a lot very early in the game. Feel free to ignore.
I am starting a playthrough where I will be creating game saves at particular times (especially for assassinations). As part of this, I decided I want to do as much as I can viewpoint wise before moving on with the game.
As the oldest brother and most likely to take up the mantle of Assassin after his father, I was wondering if Federico was possibly training under his father as an Assassin already. In canon, he probably wasn't, but it would be interesting if Ezio was being saved for a later time.

I hope you guys like this. It's just a tribute to Ezio. After seeing Embers and his fantastic monologue at the end, I wanted to show my appreciation for his life advice. This is a bit sad.
this is my second video of Ezio's Underwater Adventure, this time around it's during Carnevale.
here's my first video http://www.thehiddenblade.com/tutti-bordo
During sequence 9 ezio participates with 4 games in order to obtain the golden mask. each time you speak with game master in order to start a memory.
the four memories are And They're Off, CTF, Ribbon Round-Up, and Cheaters Never Prosper.
