question to stabs /ian: do we have any norwegians in the forum?
I just did a database query and came up empty.
We have at least six other Swedes: NoFlogging, Leo, el vuelo aditoure, Belnick, Slembroccoli and Varilion;
two Finns: AKheon and deadmise;
four Danes: Akaran, HellBlazer, AC_and_RDR_player and Big-Fudge-ZING;
but no Norwegians.
I have a question about the last person to reply topic on the first site, who won?
abosol1 is currently leading. The game isn't over yet if you want to join the competition. abosol1 is going to be hard to beat. I think he's subscribed to the topic so he gets an email whenever someone else "takes the lead".
It's devastating. My heart goes out to all of Norway and especially the families.
Not the best weekend between the Bullet Train Crash in China, the roller rink shooting in Texas, the Heat Wave that killed 11 people here in Chicago, and of course the Norwegian Shooter Tragedy.
My only two highlights this weekend were the NFL Lockout Ending and I got to go pay respects at John Belushi's grave. Blue's Brothers is still far and away the funniest movie ever made.
By the way, for those asking about dubstep, basically imagine what Transformers having sex would sound like. That gives you a pretty good idea. The sad thing is that dubstep is now being mixed with absolutely anything, even songs by The Beatles:
roller rink shooting?
So do i win
well i don't think soo
I was going to say something, but now I've forgot. >.<
Well at least you're winning...oops
Screw you, Joey!
police managed to capture the shooter alive, a norwegian man called Anders Behring Breivik
Breivik is a self-proclaimed member of the Knights Templar. There is a modern anti-Muslim group called The Ancient Order of the Templar Knights. A founder of the group, Paul Ray, essentially said that Breivik is not a member but has some good ideas. What a bunch of sickos.
Just found out about his "Templar affiliation" a few minutes ago. I wanted to mention it on here without seeming disrespectful, but since stab already did, then I guess it's all good now.
It is very odd that a secret organization in AC is supposed to be long dead in real life (from what I've learned). Does anyone know if at least a small group is still around? From what I just saw on it, it seemed so. Took my uninformed self by surprise.
(Off-topic, but I'll forget if I don't post it now)
Update on my comic book opportunity:
My brother decided that the comic publisher was too much of a "moron" to deal with, so it'll be published as a series of regular novels. I'll still be able to create cover and spine art. I'd rather do the entire story, but whatever. :/
There are several groups of people these days that call themselves the templars. Here, in the Netherlands, all of them have explicitly stated that they have nothing to do with warfare against the Islam. The orders believe in helping people.
All Breivik did was to form a group of people who were militant anti-Islam and they called themselves Templars, because the Templars fought against the Islamic soldiers during the crusades. He is by no means descended from some Templar or another.
I just saw what a potential prison for him would be. It's actually better than my house.
Well there is the Order of the Knights Hospitaller which is still active to these days, but try to help out people in some ways I'm still not very clear in.
that's because in short, while the americans make prisons for punishment and basically revenge, in scandinavia we make prisons for treatment behavioral adjustment
if it works or not, i have no idea

Hm. I've never thought of it like that. That actually makes more sense than forcing our prisoners to hate the world by the time they get out.
So that means that my house is worse than a scandinavian prison? Just hearing that sounds awful if you don't know the reason. Haha
i´m back baby whooo yay bender i mean davinci9
But I win.

You people suck at reading topic titles.
I "claim victory"!
However, thou art not the final human being to retort, thus thou shalt not claim victory!
Hey, you're back, Shinkiro?
yes yes i am. my laptop broke so i had to wait until either i got it fixed or bought a new one. A friend of mine that knows allot about computers fixed it for me recently. So i am back to claim victory!!!
To bad your claim is rejected.
And so is yours...
First ever mini forum game inside a forum game! The point is to quote a post on this forum that is numbered as the month and day (or vice versa if that works best) of your birthday. Let's keep this topic going to 1000 posts!
For example: my birthday is September 26 (9/26) and the comment below is comment #926 of this thread.
Thank you!
You're welcome...you bastard.
The person who was quoted can reply to the person who commented on them, or simply ignore it and respond to the quote that corresponds with their birthdate.
For those of you who were born in the days after the 10th of October-December: you'll just have to be patient.
Screw you and your american ways.
24/6 ftw.

Screw you and your american ways.24/6 ftw.
thank you for bringing that up. i've never understood why americans insist on displaying dates in the wrong order.
it's day/month/year, a.k.a. short/middle/long
month/day/year a.k.a. middle/short/long is just wierd
it seriously gets annyoing when trying to figure out things like release dates
sorry for the rant, i've been holding that in for a while
Hey, no one is "wrong", that's just our culture! You're very insulting, captain ROB! I respected your ways! :'(
I SHALL CLAIM VICTORY LIKE THIS MAN CATCHES BUSH
Please tell me that there are other people that watch Workaholics. It is close to replacing The Boondocks as my favorite show ever, and it's not even done with its first season yet (resuming in the fall):
The results are in for round 2 of my programming contest. I won first place! Not only that, I won by such a wide margin that I've taken the overall lead toward the grand prize. All that stands between me and that trip to San Francisco is round 3, which I expect to win handily.
Round 2 was the math problem about consecutive primes and perfect powers. For a description of the problem and my solution, see this conversation with Phi. A perfect score for round 2 would be 285 points. I received 285 points - a perfect score. Here's the breakdown:
The contestant who finished in second place got 202.09 points. He happens to be the same person who won first place in round 1. That's bad news for me because it means he's hanging in there as a contender. Where I once trailed him by 26.62 I now lead by 56.29 in overall points thanks to my strong showing in round 2.
Once again the judges used disappointingly small test cases. My program correctly solved all of them in 19 to 55 milliseconds. Three different contestants took turns coming in second place to me over the course of the six tests. On average, the second place program took 3.7 times longer than mine did to come up with the correct result.
Barring a catastrophic failure in round 3 (such as the judges not receiving my submission) I think this contest is in the bag.
It's a great show, but in the end, it's still a copy of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", but in the workplace. Now THAT show is pure genius.
How is it at all an It's Always Sunny clone? Half of Workaholics is unscripted!
Nice, Stab. Any word on what round 3 is going to be about?
Also, I hate to break it to you, Joey, but you're not wrong. YOU'RE JUST STUPID. I mean, no metric system, really? Displaying dates in some weird screwed up way?
There is one thing I hate about American culture (well, there's several, but this is my main gripe): instead of using a logical, easy to understand system, Americans keep holding onto this difficult, unwieldly system. We switched over a hundred years ago to metric. Your switch is long overdue.
sorry Joey, i guess i've been a little confrontational lately.
and america being wierd is an easy target. cause. let's face it. it's really freaking wierd
and good job stabs
how have you been Rob?
Nice, Stab. Any word on what round 3 is going to be about?
Thanks, Phi and Rob.
Round 3 was the "Running Numbers" problem. I detailed my solution here. The submission deadline was 5 weeks ago. The judging is running about 8 weeks behind so we should get the final results in the next 3 weeks.
I was just looking at this topic in the list and noticed it had 999 replies. So I was wondering if I posted something, if it would be number 1000.
How did I do?
