One of my friends on facebook: Looks like a younger version to our very own Stabguy: . At least in my eyes.

That, my friend, is a very good shout; they look very similar! I hope this spawns a spate of lookalike posts as I love lookalikes.

The best one I've heard of is the porn-star who is a lookalike of Sarah Palin and uses the likeness to great effect in her chosen industry. There is nothing Palin can do as she can't copyright her own appearance or portrayal.

I think I saw the Sarah Palin look-a-like you mentioned. One of my friends sent me a trailer for another porn (based on the Adam West Batman show...not kidding) and I saw some Sarah Palin parody with her face on the side. From what I saw, it was uncanny!

Does anyone know what happened to Altair92? Some time ago his username didn't show up on my subscriptions. Recently I tried to watch one of his vids, but it said, "This video is no longer available because the uploader has closed their Youtube account."

I got my A-level results yesterday and met my offer to get into my firm choice university so as of October I'll be studying chemistry at the University of York!

Yesterday also happened to be my 18th birthday so it's safe to say I celebrated; not too sure why I'm up so early now actually.

hey. computer geniuses of THB, i have a mystery for you to solve:

how can two sound files merge together on accident? all amateur replies i've gotten say that it's impossible, but it still did happen.

when i do housework i like to listen to a gaming podcast on my phone.
so i usually download it on my laptop and then move it to my phone.

at first the podcast is all good Swedish game talking, but around the 4 minute mark, it somehow switches to a voice actor interview podcast that i listened to a few weeks ago, but i deleted that when it was done.

it's still the gaming podcast file that's playing, but the sound is Tabitha St Germain, i think.

i look at the file in my PC and this doesn't happen, so it must have something to do with the move from the laptop to the phone.

anyone know what happened?

You removed the old file, but it was still on your hard drive (otherwise deleting a file would almost take as long as writing a file). This is just how operating systems work.
Then you downloaded the gaming podcast, but the writing malfunctioned, resulting in only a partial copy of the game podcast on your hard drive, which overlapped with the voice actor podcast. So once the computer ran out of data for the gaming podcast, it just continued with the voice actor podcast, because it didn't detect an EOF (end of file).

That's probably what happened.

I got my university accommodation confirmed today. It turns out I'm sharing a kitchen and bathroom facilities (more than one shower and toilet thankfully) with 16 other people!

Is that an update that has brought all the forum topics closer together on the recent posts page? It looks nice and neat!

No, I haven't updated the site software recently. What makes the topics appear closer together is when it doesn't say "2 new" under the reply count. So the more you keep up with recent comments, the neater it looks!

Hmm... I always 'read' new posts (even if I don't actually read them) to make the site look nice and neat. I could swear that it's never looked like that to me but perhaps I'm just being stupid. Obviously it's not an update though as you've just said you haven't done anything. Strange.

It does that fairly often. Sometimes they're a bit more spaced out than other times. Maybe it's the titles of the threads? Depending on how many lines they take up, they may take up more space?

Actually, I've found it's the "Type" column that does this.

The column width changes which forces "Forum" and "Topic" on to separate lines when your browser window is too narrow. This happens if you haven't maximized your window, or are zoomed in.

I guess this is another reason to pay for no ads. If there weren't an ad bar on the right, the table would be wider and the column width would be wide enough for "Forum Topic" at all times.
