Here are two blitzes I performed on Majd, as part of grinding segments for my Assassin's Creed 1 speedrun.
The first one is an anonymous blitz in 5.4 seconds. It utilizes a trick that I recently discovered, but that I haven't figured out yet. For some reason, if you don't move too much and jump correctly after the cutscene ends, you can get through the guard post surrounding the platform anonymously. I currently have done about 50-ish attempts for the Majd Assassination segment with this setup, and it's happened twice. The second time is the one you can see in the video.
It might be a bit faster to climb up on the platform directly rather than running around like I did, but I don't think Altaïr would stay anonymous then.
The second one is an exposed blitz in 3.6 seconds. It utilizes the same setup as the anonymous blitz, which is to position yourself slightly to the left of the center of the platform as shown in the video, and then using gentle push () to get room before jumping through the guard post. This case was particularly lucky because Altaïr hit a civilian with his right foot, which triggered Majd jumping from the platform a bit earlier.
Finally, I have gone through the Fastest Assassinations Menu and collected the results (with these new videos added) in a Google Docs document, because it's a lot easier to use than the video. I also added a glitchless/glitched flag, which refers to the setup before the cutscene. If you have questions or comments, I'd be glad to hear them.

Stabguy can download it using YouTube and then we can check that way.

Done. Used the video editor on Youtube to make a separate 9 second video instead of downloading the whole thing.

Precisely .2 seconds (on the previous frame the whole screen is covered with the second white flash, so I'm unable to determine if the camera angle changed then, but I can barely make out shapes in the next frame that tell me the camera changed).
In Stabguy's Guide to Robert Blitz video the fastest way to get Robert was: move up on and push on , then wait a split second for the sword to go in the sheath and push . Anyone want to guess how the record was beaten?

Let's see. I'll guess followed by up. Maybe it will let you switch weapons mid-attack.

It won't. Aurel simply selected the hidden blade before Altaïr had his sword entirely out of the sheath, which cancelled the animation and allowed him to directly assassinate Robert. There was no movement necessary because the hidden blade got selected so fast.

You guys are getting close. An assassination isn't possible with the sword out. Actually in combat you could perform a ground kill if you switch to hidden blade and push before the sword goes in the sheath. Since the sword gets selected automatically selecting the hidden blade won't stop it from unsheathing, otherwise someone would have found that in the original blitz tries. That's why I had to find another way to force the sword into the sheath. If you look closely enough at the video you'll see a big clue how.
Did you do a grab move? I put the video on .25 speed and that's what it looks like. At 0:06, there's two white flashes; in between those two it looks like Altaïr's left arm moves forward. Or is that just because you turn to face Robert?

In the video it looks like the button is pressed. So it must be Blend or Sprint that cancels the unsheathing.
That's it! Blending sheaths melee weapons and prevents them from being unsheathed. The setup is: use left index finger to select on (the is no longer necessary). Use right index and middle finger to tap both and . I tap the quicker than the other buttons, so whether you assassinate or attack with sword depends on which button is pressed first, or . Tried this three times, and only once did he bring the sword out instead. I'd say 50% chance of success.
Wait a minute. I think I actually held down and tapped the other buttons because that would make more sense.
Nice assassinations. I like when it's not glitchy.
Do you have the original file so we can time it properly?
And I am working on the speedrun. These videos got recorded during segment attempts. In particular the anonymous blitz is just me reacting quickly when I ended up anonymous on the other side of the guard post. Next time it happens I will attempt a faster blitz. So I'll probably beat it before then.
Poor Majd. Gets barely one word in for the executions.

I don't think it's still on a computer, although the original disk is probably there in the disk pile (and since I didn't bother to label nearly all of them good luck to me). Stabguy was able to do some preliminary timings for one video, so maybe there's another way.
With all this time on your hands I hope you're working more on the speedrun. Also you forgot my blitz on Robert.

Not sure on the exact time.
I recommend a frontpage, until I eventually beat the blitz record .

I love the irony of speedruns.
