Yeah. Last night I got sub-20 on Short 3. It's fun to try and figure out inventive routes.
I was just wondering if there was a bona fide way to rock that part of Short 6. I suppose you could jump to the platform on the left and avoid the beams and then jump back, but that seems fruitless in the long run if I'm going to have to avoid them sometime.
I've got 19.20 on video, which I'll be uploading soon.
Also, I have short course 6 at 24.93.

Dang. I think I have 19.33, so you got me there (even though I beat Joey and PtyJames) .... and Joey's short 6 was about 24.97, or maybe 24.67.... I'll look tonight.
I never looked much at these when I was playing through to ACR... but I think I'll focus exclusively on the Virtual Training until AC3 comes out.
Here we go:
Here we go:
I assume you've tried... is jumping to the left at the very beginning actually faster than jumping to the beam under the platform?
4 "non-standard" things in your run:
1 - jumping to the side platform, not the beam
2 - backjumping to the railing to get up the wall (which I do)
3 - wall run-side jump (which I do)
4 - going down the side at the end to get the last two gates immediately... which I may try to do from now on
THANKS FOR SHARING... I didn't know if some people kept their creative routes top secret and close to the vest... I'm glad you don't, as now I will use this one to beat my buddy by even more.
In related news... does anyone else find it interesting that the tutorial run has wall climbing but none of the runs require it?
1 - Side platform is absolutely faster since you don't have the landing-on-beam-animation.
2 - I suspect that doesn't matter nearly as much.
3 - Good.
4 - That's the coolest trick, IMO. We (my friends and I) discovered this and were like "whaaaaat, that's just cheating!" But we used it anyway.
I shared it because it's old. We devised this route very shortly after Brotherhood came out, and used it to get #1 (my friend) and #2 (me) on the world ranking. So no problem!
Something weird happened last night for me... I was playing with virtual training (to beat my friend's short 5 and short 6 times) and my xbox wasn't displaying ANY short 6 times... not my friend's, not the world records, nothing. It kept saying I was setting and breaking the world record (which I know is false). It had times for all the other runs, just not Short 6. Maybe something with the server was screwed up. :-?
Also, along the lines of
Side platform is absolutely faster since you don't have the landing-on-beam-animation
since you have more experience than I do, would you say that it is faster to drop off ledges to the ground, or to jump and roll? I know the jump and roll has an extra animation that may slow you down, but it does get you further along, so I wanted to know your thoughts.
The recovery animations of rolling and dropping are similar in length, but rolling has the added benefit of travelling some distance. So if you can control your roll, that would probably be superior. Otherwise go for the drop.
Thanks Golden Ratio.
Are you still PhiIs1618033 on XBL?
Yep.
Sent you a friend request.
It'll be a while before I accept it. I don't have Xbox Gold, nor do I have a permanent internet connection on my Xbox.
I'm sure you could accept on xbox.com if you really wanted to...
No rush though. Just wanted you to be aware.
I beat a few of my own records the other night. Sorry Cheese...
