You know what really pisses me off? Looking at a really good space/philosophy/etc video on the internet and getting blown away, and then scrolling down to see the comments and seeing people ripping into each other about religion, fossils, evolution etc. Now I dont really mind a good discussion but every second word will be cunt this and fucking cum face that etc etc. Really destroys the feel the videos are trying to create.

Oh and I just watched south parks take on the 1% situation, it was pretty good. My favorite part is when this news reporter says that he is part of the 99%, so he asks the protestors "Since I am part of the 99% as well, what do I have to say about this?" and then he passes the mike to them. They are speechless lol.

I mean that is essentially their attitude, they think they are speaking for 99% of the world population which is just fucking retarded.

i hate my generation,so bad. i wish i could back to a time where the brand and amount of money you spent on clothes didn't matter. like seriously they should feel lucky they have clothes. no it doesn't end there, my generation is alot more rude and stupid.

but then i gotta talk about my race for a minute here. in my school they are rude, ingnorant and smoke marijuna,it really bothers me. im mean come on YOUR MAKING BLACK PEOPLE LOOK BAD. then also the only homosexual men/women in my school are black, i don't have a problem with that even though ive felt my ass get touched before 0_0.

then i get made fun of because i draw alot in school, and my body is built like one of a football player (linemen) so all the dudes always ask me " yo you play football" when i awnser no they give me a look like why the hell not.... cause ima gentle giant who wants to be a comic artist of some sort and not a football player .

not much of a rant just that was on meh mind

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which

I feel you bro.
A lot of crazy stuff goes on in the world.
I feel like I need Purpose. It's one of those things that I'm kinda missing, and if I had it, I could go without a lot of other things I'm relying on. Like wasting time on the Internet Tongue

Im like 6ft 4 and people always ask me if I play basketball. When I say no they also look at me with that same look, but I dont really blame them its just an icebreaker really.

As for purpose, I never really understand why people want a specific meaning to life. Throughout most of my searching about life and philosophy ( via smoking weed) I have come to the conclusion that there is no absolute truth at all, and that life and nature depends on how you look at it or how you make it, like our actual soul is the driving force of reality. However my opinion on this "subject" seems to change daily so I wouldnt really pay much attention to what I say.

One big thing that really mentally exhausts me is Enlightenment vs Ignorance. So far Ignorance is winning the debate for me.

As for a purpose, I figured it didn't really matter, since "we cannot know anything, only suspect". No matter how cliche'd it might be, but the Assassin's Creed games are right. Nothing is true, everything is permitted. I came to this conclusion by myself a long time before I knew about AC. The basic strategy since then has always been: don't give a f, act on ratio, not on emotion. I combine this with a sort of balanced-term hedonism. I try to maximize the amount of fun I get over long periods of time. This means balancing long-term fun incentives with short-term fun incentives. For carreer purposed, mathematics is the perfect fit, as far as I'm concerned. I love doing it, and I have a good outsight on a career with lot's of me doing mathematics.
Otherwise, I run a lot. Endorphin highs are great and there are benefits if you run fast enough. Smile

Of course when the final achievement I'm about to get is the Tax Evasion one, Ubi already sent out the DLC achievements to clutter up my list of to-dos.

Apparently they're character and ability-specific (Using charge 5 times in a match as the Gladiator or something). If anyone wants help with these when it releases, I'm available. Tongue

Sorry, Lisa, but you may have been misinformed. The trick with regulating blood sugar is keeping insulin levels low. High insulin levels trigger the body to store energy from food, instead of using it up. Eating a meal raises insulin levels, depending on the meal.
When people are fasting for an extended period (think 12+ hours), their insulin levels decrease and fat burning starts to occur. This is how the body maintains a proper energy level. Why would I need to eat every 2-3 hours if I've got these reserves?
If you think this would make you feel lazy and unenergetic, think again. Many people report feeling energized during a period of fasting. I ran 2x2400 metres in 12 minutes each on nothing but my breakfast and a pear. Wouldn't be weird, hadn't I done it at 18.00. Afterwards, I felt great.
I also tend to stick to a three-meals-a-day pattern throughout the week and I still have plenty of energy to solve difficult mathematical problems, study and exercise.

Also, tryptophan content in turkey isn't especially high or something. Cheese and soy are comparable. Tongue
Other than that, awesome post! I'm a fan of green vegetables as well. Smile

Joey, on the subject of relaxing, you should look up mindfulness.

If you have trouble sleeping, here's what you should do:
- Don't eat less than 3 hours before sleep. Drinking a glass of milk or something is alright, but stay away from coffee and tea. Both are sources of caffeine, which messes with your sleeping pattern.
- On caffeine, don't use it as a stimulant when you wake up. A cup of coffee is fine, but you shouldn't rely on it to get you started during the day.
- Don't go to bed right after having played videogames, watched tv or just any of that back-lit screen stuff. Give yourself an hour off. Read a book, play an instrument, solve a Rubik's Cube, etc.
- Don't exercise less than 3 hours before sleep. Reasons for this should be obvious. With your body in 'active mode', you'll have a hard time getting to sleep.
- Bedroom temperature should be fairly low. You have to allow your body temperature to drop while getting to sleep. Having a proper bed will also help this. You get extra points for having a female sleep next to you, since they get cold more often than not. Take advantage and warm her up.
- On the subject of body temperature, if you're showering, wait for your body to cool down before getting into bed.
- If you can't sleep after about 15 minutes (please do not watch the clock on this one), go to another room and do something else (no screens). Try again 15 minutes later.
- A bed is for two things: sleep and sex. Preferably only the first (you can have sex in the kitchen, right? xD), but the second is quite alright. A bed is not for reading books, texting friends, playing with your iPad... You can do that in the living room on the couch or on a chair. TWO THINGS. SLEEP AND SEX. THAT'S IT.
- HAVE A SCHEDULE. This is the single best thing you can do to improve your sleep. It's even better than sleep and sex! (sorry, had to put that in) But seriously, if you're wishing to improve your sleep quality, do this. Fix a waking up time (like 7.00) and go to bed around 8-9 hours before that. Get up at 7.00 every day (use an alarm clock) when adjusting to the schedule (should take around two weeks). When I say "get up", I mean lifting your ass up and out of bed. If you're a bit sleepy, you may perform pushups and squats in to awaken yourself. Don't overdo it on the intensity, though. You're waking yourself up, not training yourself to become extremely strong. After you've adjusted to the schedule, try and keep it as much as you can. Once you're in the rhythm, it's alright to go out with your buddies on friday and then oversleep on saturday.

That's all I can remember right now. The last two tips are the most important ones. You have to teach your body to sleep at specified times and to associate a bed with sleep. The rest is pretty much auxilliary stuff you can use to help it.

Finally, you don't need to go to a gym to work out. With proper progressions, bodyweight can be used just as well, at home. All that you really need is something to hang down from.

*sigh* The limitations of a dorm room. :/

On having a girl to warm up (so many innuendos with your post): It's a shame I have a roommate. That would be too awkward, haha. I get what you're saying, though. When I've been snuggling with a girlfriend, I'm able to relax more. I never thought that would help with sleeping, though.

Oh hell yeah, I just started having lucid dreams as well. Had my second one today, woke up at 6 am and went back to sleep and shit got crazy. I was on this big hill and I realised I was dreaming. When I did, I started jumping, and I made a goal to jump a little higher each time.

Soon it was like I had no gravity, I was bouncing miles into the sky. It was fucking awesome. However at one point I jumped so high that when I started falling back down it actually felt like I was falling off a building and I started screaming while falling. I was wondering if I was screaming in reality as well, as I was conscious that I was dreaming.

I then ran onto the street and saw a guy riding a bike. I ran up and tackled him off the bike, it was so damn fun.

Phi, wow. I accept your point about the smaller meals; I was told this by a nutritionist and that it was in general a better way to eat so as not to overload the digestive system. But yeah, I'm sure you're right.

Other tips: "that word". Laughing out loud

Fabulous dream, Jack. Were you trying to have a lucid dream or did it just happen?

I have been trying for a while without success, but this time I didnt even need to. I just woke up, and I felt myself slip into the dream slowly and just went with it. When I was deep enough for it to feel real I just decided to go crazy. If you try be too conscious of your dream too early you wake up.

Last night after the party I was at got disbanded (the host got into a huge fight with three girls that were being stupid and he kicked all of them out, setting off a chain reaction of people leaving) I did something I've never done before.

After getting home at like 11PM, I turned off all of the electricity in my house except for the sound system, sat in a chair directly in front of the glass window of my apartment, put on a continuous mix of soft deadmau5 songs, and watched the city of Chicago for three hours straight. I did absolutely nothing until 2PM when I had the sudden craving to play Skyrim and did so for an hour until I passed out on the couch.

So why am I telling you this? On the subject of finding ways to relax, last night was truly the first time since college ended that I have ever been completely relieved. I was absolutely untouched by stress for three hours. I did not think about going to work on Monday or when I would get my haircut the next day. I did not think about my friend getting so mad at these girls that he punched a hole in his gallery's wall or ponder any regrets from that night. The past and the future were irrelevant. For the first time in a long time I was completely relaxed and at ease. I lived for the present as I watched life unfold before me in one of the most beautiful places in the world and listened to the soothing tones of my favorite artist. I had something I can only describe as a sober high, and it was absolutely wonderful. It made me realize how I am able to stay so happy.

I don't worry about the opinions of others, but I also don't openly express what I am doing or force my habits on people. I do what makes me happy without caring about being judged, that's truly how I can stay content with myself. If you're looking for a way to relax, just do whatever you really love doing whenever you can. I watch and support Chicago sports teams because I enjoy sports. I've enjoyed playing Pokemon my whole life, and have no plans to stop any time soon. I play other video games because I can feel a variety of emotions from them and I find them more enticing than books. I own a mau5head in support of my favorite musician, and I go to his shows whenever I can. I do stuff on impulse a lot but I also make sure what I'm doing won't damage me later on. Last night, I wanted to watch the city and unwind, so I did, and it was incredible.

That's the best way to relax. Do what makes you happy. If other people want to tag along, great. If they don't, it doesn't matter because you're already content with what you're doing, regardless of who with. The ones that do want to participate become your friends because they share the same interests and impulses you do. Maybe one stands out above the rest, and they become something more to you. Your life can only be enhanced by this. That's how I've been able to alleviate so much extra stress. I never worry about relationships with any person, the only thing I'm ever stressed about is work or my favorite sports teams losing (which is certainly the case after the Bears looked like sh*t today). Point is, doing what makes you happy without worrying about being judged makes you a happier and eventually less-stressed person. At least, that's what works for me.

yeah I have started to meditate in the evenings before I go to bed. I will have a shower and before I get out il slam it onto cold and see how long I can last. When I get out and get changed my mind is racing and im really alert, I find thats the best time to meditate. By meditate I simply mean what FLAE does, I find a state of mind where everything fits perfectly in its right place. Eventually the dialogue in my head becomes perfect, every word is positive and everything just seems perfect.

Through studying all sorts of subjects and philosophies I usually am left unsatisfied. I have never been left unsatisfied with meditation, all the answers you need are right in your head.

I will never forget your sig FLAE that something like ( ok I already forgot most of it) " You don't always have to be doing something productive, take the time to lie down occasionally) or something like that. Im usually always trying to balance many things at once to get the most done, at the end of the day though if im doing it to make my life easier so I can relax, I may as well just relax and I have already achieved my goal.

Here you go: The American People’s New Economic Charter

There's also The 99% Declaration which was drafted by the Occupy Philadelphia Working Group. I'd skip over the six point plan (for a Third Continental Congress) and go straight to the 23 proposed issues. So much for the "they don't know what they want" talking point.

You're able to save files on an online folder that you can access without depending on physical memory devices. I don't know how much memory it can have, but I'm sure it has a more than hard drives, which already have plenty of space.

Anyone remember "Repercussions of Evil", that Doom fanfic? Tongue
Here's the full text:

John Stalvert waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were demons in the base. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Cernel Joson were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
John was a space marine for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the spaceships and he said to dad "I want to be on the ships daddy."
Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY DEMONS"
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the space station base of the UAC he knew there were demons.
"This is Joson" the radio crackered. "You must fight the demons!"
So John gotted his plasma rifle and blew up the wall.
"HE GOING TO KILL US" said the demons
"I will shoot at him" said the cyberdemon and he fired the rocket missiles. John plasmaed at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
"No! I must kill the demons" he shouted
The radio said "No, John. You are the demons"
And then John was a zombie
