I didn't mind Spiderman 3 at all. It was pretty good.

Whoever joked about Spiderman 3 being horrible I will shoot. If you take him going all psychotic as one giant joke, it is the best of the three movies.
Except forSpoiler: Highlight to viewJames Franco dying at the end. That was uncalled for...
No, I have not read many of the comics, but I have seen the 90's and portions of the older television shows.Well that's why you thought it was good; you watched the '90's series. Not even like how Spidey should be.
I'm more of a DC fan than a Marvel fan, but I hated the Spiderman 3 movie too, it just felt a bit too silly.
The first Spider-Man movie was still the best, though. Green Goblin was like a parallel to the Joker, you can't make a better psychotic villain that those two. And the ending to the first Spider Man movie was perfect.
The next two were okay, I thought they were too unbelievable to be taken seriously. I understand it's a super-hero movie, but when you create a live-action film you have to keep some realism in it. The first Spider Man movie made everything believable to an extent. The way the spiders were engineered to give Peter his powers and the way Dr. Osbourne went psychologically insane. The next two were extremely ridiculous. I don't believe that Dr. Octopus created a miniature sun in his lab, nor do I believe Sandman can become completely composed of sand through some wind tunnel bullshit (did the scientists really not see him fall in? REALLY? It's not like there's anything else in there but sand, I mean come on). He shouldn't even have been the main villain in the film, Venom should have. He was so much more intense than Sandman or Harry were throughout the movie.
Sorry Jfighter, but Spider Man 3 really was horrible. I can't be won over by a black suit and a goth punk Peter Parker that loves showing up redheads by tap dancing and playing the piano (or whatever he did at that bar she was in). Point is, the movie was cheesy and had more special effects than what was necessary. It should have focused more on the dialogue/story and less on the explosions. Nothing was deep, everything was straightforward and predictable.
I think all the Spiderman movies are decent and i enjoy rewatching them from time to time. I even enjoyed 3. The main problem for me is that they lack the depth of the recent Batman movies which are really dark and evil

Oh god yes, the Dark Knight was perfect! Heath Ledger was worth every penny on his own, he turned what was considered a somewhat "campy" villan into a true force to be reckoned with.
Absolutely. Jack Nicholson played him well but he lived up to the camp, funny clown persona of the Joker whereas Heath Ledger took it to a new level in terms of evil, creepy clowns
If it wasn't for the fact that I know he'd be hanging outside my window when I look to my left, I'd even go as far as to say that Batman was left in the dark in The Dark Knight (but then he'd probably prefer it that way )
Never got into DC. The heroes of Marvel are funner. Marvel Ultimate Alliance blew the DC Universe copy-cat game that came out a few months later out of the water. Although, I have been playing Batman: Arkham Asylum lately, which is epic; better than any of the Spiderman games I have played (Spiderman 1, Spiderman 3, and Spiderman: Web of Shadows primarily) or Ultimate Alliance.
Haven't seen any of the Batman movies except for parts of the one with Riddler and Two-Face from the 80's or 90's.
Spider Man 1 was a blast, especially because it was so difficult. That and the guy that narrated the tutorial was hilarious. I actually miss that game sort of... especially Green Goblin mode. Oh I had a blast with that.
The next game was fun because of free roam, but I never really got that into it. At the end of the game, it was like, "great, so what?"
Never bothered with the third game because, again, the third movie sucked.

Third game ruined the movie (destroyed what little there was of Sandman's character). It had some good ideas, but didn't follow through with them.
Web of Shadows is far and away my favorite Spiderman game. Although the ending was the epitome of a let-down; just one giant button-smashing sequence until
I didn't mind the silliness of Spider-man 3, i thought it was a nice culmination of the last 2 movies.
It's deffinatly no Dark Knight however. While Mark Hamill(Animated Series) will always be my favorite Joker, Heath Ledger is a strong runner up. He really nailed the iconic Joker laugh.
I just feel like Spidey 3 was TOO silly. I'll always refer to it as the Batman & Robin of Spider-Man movies. Hopefully the reboot will make up for it.
And yes Jed, I totally agree with you. Hamill's voice made it hard to create another iconic Joker.
Back on the subject of the Social Network, this was my friend's status on Facebook last night:
In The Social Network: the kid from Jurassic park gets black out drunk and falls off a chimney, Justin Timberlake gets busted for doing coke off an underage chick's boobs, and London Tipton from the Suite Life and Zach Cody goes down on the next spiderman in a bathroom stall. (this movie must've been stolen from my dreams)
ZOMG triple like FLAE
Sucker Punch was awesome. I could rant about it for pages but I want to know what you all think.
I predicted Sucker Punch would be bad...then I heard that it was awful...now FLAE says it's amazing...hmm...
Now you read Jame saying it was FANTASTAWESOMEPIC! (Yes I had to make up a word for it.)
But I believe im being a little bit partial since I went to the movies pretty hyped just because it was a Zack Snyder movie. Still, great cinematography, great internal universe, great characters, great visual metaphors, but it becomes pretty overwhelming, too quickly sometimes, but all in a good way. This guy right here, is truly a genius, and I was truly happy to see what he would do with an original script since both Watchmen and 300 were of course adaptations.
In short, you can't miss this movie.
I might see it just to see it, but with low expectations.
Far enough good sir
I actually saw Limitless on Saturday. It was good. Not great, but good. Nice twists throughout. Makes me want to become a pill-popper (not really. I'll stick to the natural herbs of Mary Jane).
I like Bradley Cooper a lot. He was great in this movie. He has a lot of range with his abilities. Also, whoever the director is is a genius. They performed these insane camera visual tricks that I didn't even know could be done in a live-action film. It was very visually entertaining.
I actually saw a fantastic film today on ITV2 called "The Scorpion King" which had a nice plot and plenty of fight scenes. That's my sort of film, and as you may of guessed from my very brief comments I don't watch films that often.

Scorpion King with The Rock and Kelly Hu? Didn't really liked it. I found it kind of dull although they did had some nice points they could have stressed on but I think they just messed it up trying to make The Rock look like some kind of Babylonian superhero.
Back in topic, I've recently found myself loving Tim Burton's films. Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, Batman Returns, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd. Man, I could go on all day. Anybody else fan of him? Or perhaps of another director?
I saw Sleepy Hollow recently. It was pretty well directed, although the blood and gore was more than enough to give it it's R rating (and Tim Burton thought it should have been Pg 13!) I do like some of Tim Burton's movies. Another good director is Steven Spielberg, but I haven't seen many of his movies.
I've gotten bored with Tim Burton. My girlfriend likes him, but I don't care anymore. His style is too overplayed. Also, he drags the great actor Johnny Depp in every film he makes anymore. That's my opinion, though. I know a lot of people are into his style. No hatin'!
No hatin'!
Don't worry I don't really like Johnny Depp. I think he is too dramatic. Never even bothered with PotC. And I do have to agree some of his movies are a little overplayed, but still, the fantasy and scariness (I can't really find the word in English) just come perfectly in most of them. That's why I love Guillermo Del Toro's movies as well, although they are not that "scary".
Watching Restrepo on Friday Night. It's supposed to be the greatest war documentary ever made in that its raw combat footage from one of the most dangerous outposts in Afghanistan. I'll let you all know how it is.
My girlfriend got me to watch Repo! The Genetic Opera last weekend. Weird as hell, but that's what made it watchable.
Anybody seen the movie "Wanted"? Just wondered what everyone else thought about it and other comicbook based movies outside of X-Men. I liked the similarities to the AC series in the Guild of Assassins, but with an evil twist.
I saw Wanted. I liked it, but some people didn't. There's a lot of similarities to AC in that movie.
I loved the similarities to the AC series. That was actually my main interest in watching the movie. It also got me thinking, it's kind of cool to see the evil side of battle. I would like to see an entire AC game that let's you play an entire game from the Templar side. It would be fun to flip the entire series for one game.
If you ever want to understand what war really is, watch Restrepo. It will change the way you view violence forever.

I thought of this when you were describing the effect of the movie in the chat last night.
Okay Hangover Part II was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I thought it was way better than the original and this is coming from someone who expected it to be the biggest flop in the history of movies.
"I'd like to thank the Asiatic People for welcoming me to their land."
i never saw GT or District 9 heard of them but never saw them
District 9 is fantastic. You should definitely see it if you get the chance.
i might
It definitely was a great film. Very sad in a lot of parts. It was really well-thought out. I'm surprised it didn't get many awards.
The Decent, one of the only horror movies that I have actually been scared in.

You're afraid of a movie with the word "decent" in the title? You probably mean "The Descent".
Is that the movie of the women practicing speleology? If so, man that was an scary movie!
lol yeah I meant Descent. Its a movie about a group who explore an uncharted cave and get stuck in there.

Fixed. It was actually Jfighter's fault (a typo in the spoiler tag). Then everyone kept quoting it!
oh sorry i didn't see that he said it guess i forgot how that works
Saw "Horrible Bosses" a few days ago. There were some very funny parts in there. They did a great job of getting "big name" actors to play character actor roles.
i just downloaded "The Thing." the old one from the 80's. i've never seen it, but heard that it's supposed to be good.
gonna try and watch it on my xbox, by USB. never done that either so new experiences all around.

Sorry. *slinks away*

The old one is from 1951. James Arness (of Gunsmoke fame) running around in a rubber suit. Classic!

I barely remember that post... I do remember that I don't have an edit button for that post, otherwise I would have fixed it. Odd that I don't have one for just that post...

Hmm. That is odd. Maybe it disappeared after I edited your post (to prevent users from undoing an admin's update).
That spoiler was out there for exactly one year. I guess the cat's out of the bag now!
Yay, 100th post! I saw Zookeeper a little while ago in theaters. I actually only watched it because the people who I was with wanted to watch it and I'm glad I did because it was a whole lot better than I expected. The main character is Kevin James, the same guy from Mall Cop, and I really like the way they're making those movies. Recommended for anyone who likes comedy.

We are nearly there. Now we are making good time. I hope they let us go inside. Okay, now I'll stop.
