Oh my God...
what did they do to you, Desmond? You look...somewhat...lopsided. Maybe that can be the bad angle.
link not working this morning.
Yeah, we've already seen his in-game model and his head looks fine. Sometimes Bullshots are distorted.
Yeah, we've already seen his in-game model...
That one wasn't officially announced. This one is and it's a different shot showing Desmond and other characters.
Doesn't matter if it wasn't officially announced, it was an off screen picture of the official game, and Desmond didn't have the weird distorted head that he does in the official bullshot.
Since bullshots are edited, warping and stretching can sometimes occur, making the game look different than it will.

Probably, but I've decided not to buy the game. Thus I can not be arsed to put all the links up.
Does anyone want to volunteer to take over the thread?
I could, though I'm sure there won't be as many informative links this close to release.
Yeah, we're just using this thread to discuss things now. It's OK.

Wha?!
Why?
I'm convinced he'll want it after we've played it and say how awesome it is. And I really think we'll be saying that this time.

Because it looks to be as linear as AC:R was. And I FUCKING HATE LINEARITY.
What did you see that indicated linearity? All I've seen so far is tons of stuff that you could play through differently every time, like the frontier fort assault, boston gameplay, and Naval battles. Maybe you're talking about that Assassin recruit mission where you kill guys as you escort him, or the boston tea party mission. For me that seems less linear than ever before because COMBAT s less linear than ever before.
I seriously doubt this game will rely on intensely scripted sequences as much as previous games, and I'm sure when we prove that you'll want the game.

Oh, okay. I though it was something serious.
I'm sure you'll love this game.

Interestingly, I'm almost as excited about the hunting as I am about anything else in the game...

You'd love Dishonored. It's all about making your own game style and strategies.

He's talking about his worry that the game might heavily depend on missions such as the Boston Tea Party or the off-to-the-side demo of the British Fort. Which is understandable, but I think those missions will only be for plot-driven points in the story and not during main assassinations. A couple might be pretty linear, but it looks like they're sticking with the old formula when dealing with main targets.

HOLYF UCK EYS
See, I'm so excited I can't even type right. It's coming out tomorrow and I'll definitely get it ASAP.

Well, this.
I dunno, I feel like it's obvious that big historical events like the boston tea party are going to have to be scripted, but it's amazing to me that it seems like battles are not entirely.
I think we heard that that fort had like four different entrances, and the final version of that assassination target will be different I'm sure. And we know that bunker hill has a bunch of ways to get to the target.
Honestly I didn't think Revelations was that linear. It was better than Brotherhood in a lot of ways. I remember the first seal was an Arkham Asylum-like series of rooms with guards and a target who had the key you needed to move on. I got to use bombs to their full potential and really play around with guards in that misssion.

Yea I'm not Buying ACIII or Liberation on the PSVita, at least I won't buy it Day 1. Probably wait for a GOTY edition or a cheaper price in the next few years. Seems to me the smart way to go, I'm not really all that excited about the Next Series and plus I already have a big catalog of games to try/play.
However the Multiplayer Servers will probably die off in the first few months, at least on the PS3.
I guess thats one thing I will miss.
This may be the intro cinematic to AC3. No spoilers, just a cool catching up video up until AC3's start.

EDIT: I couldn't find an English subtitled version. But at least the voiceover is.
Be still, my beating boner...
Quite a finale recap of all the previous 4 main installments. I'd much rather have traditional character models flash about the screen, not this CG barffest, but it doesn't matter. It's only the 1st 3 minutes of the game, and what I want now...is MORE GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE!!!
Be still...
We've already had three games of traditional model clips from previous games. About time they made their recap unique.
Consistency is important, and seeing AC2 and Brotherhood and 1 graphics at the beginning of each game was jarring.
Sure, the game isn't in CG, but at least the recap itself is more cohesive and not limited to just clips from previous games.
If Vesferatu wants more gameplay footage, maybe I should record the Desmond Stadium mission.. I'll cut off any spoiler cutscenes in Sony Vegas or whatever.
GIMME GIMME!
Will record when my brother gets home. Quality ain't gonna be great, but it'll be the best an iPhone can conjure up. We'll try our best. And at least I'll be better than most of the demo players for promo material
(Watch me jinx myself and die to Abstergo guards in the security garden X_X)
Benedict Arnold PS3-exclusive DLC (Free)
DAZ, careful if you're posting AC3 gameplay vids to YouTube. Ubisoft has been very quick to get them removed, even from legit owners of the game.
If you're going to make some YouTube vids (and I'd love to watch them), I suggest you give them an obscure name and set them to private, then just add people to the viewer list here on this board.
Thanks for the heads up Asaic.

Connor can teleport, awesome!
i've decided that i will probably get the game at one point, but i'll wait for the inevitable price cut
I'd like to thank Phi for maintaining this thread. Since it's a pre-release topic I'm going to unsticky it now. Hopefully there will be some FAQ topics soon to take its place in stickyville.
"You can't kill Benjamin Franklin or George Washington."
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
Challenge completed on George. It was surprisingly easy.

Spoiler: Highlight to viewIn sequence 9. You talk to George Washington, and he sends you after Benjamin Church. After the scene you can talk to him two more times. He's invincible during this time and can't be moved. Then... I noticed he can be targeted. The gun didn't kill him, but he was scared (kneeling on the ground and begging for his life), and the guards came after me. Afterward I gentle pushed/bumped him into water. Simple as that.
I really hope he becomes a target in the dlc.
And I believe you can do the same thing in sequence 3... or close to it.
What part of sequence 3 are you referring to? I can't recall any other time that George Washington appears outside a scene.

May as well tell you... this is what I was working on to post later...
You can kill George Washington and his buddy after the eavesdrop, although it does pop up a "Desynchronized: George Washington Died." I think this is the first memory in which you can kill George.
Desynchronizing from killing the character doesn't count as a successful death, but at least you're trying and keeping track of things. Keep up the good work.

I agree... but I think there's got to be a way to get him in that memory... I'll keep trying, haha. Hard thing is, that memory forces you to not be seen... which will make any character manipulation difficult.
Also, I think George Washington is in:
Also, is old GW part of the Braddock Expedition (3.3). I recall someone else with Braddock. I don't remember if it was Georgie or not. Might be able to get him there.
Washington appears

I'm currently working on a video of that sequence. Maybe we should coordinate efforts, Cheese. I've already recorded parts that confirm it's George Washington.
Also, is old GW part of the Braddock Expedition (3.3)?
Yes. At the beginning he rides alongside Braddock and at the end Connor's mom holds a knife to Washington's throat!

That's what I thought.
I'm trying to compile a list of every memory or place George Washington appears. And then every point where you might be able to kill him with or without desynching. I was thinking at one point to put together a sequence of the many places you can kill George Washington... since Ubi said we couldn't.
They should have released a single, out-of-context screenshot of that scene back when everyone was afraid of "'Murrica; The Game"
A "George Dies. And again. And again. And again."-compilation would be awesome!
George needs to meet Dante.

This was my idea.... need to beat the game before seriously working on it though.

I don't even remember that! Also.

Along with Cesare and Micheletto.

Yep.... check the wiki for the expedition. He was a scout of some sort.
