I feel like we've had this already, but it was uploaded just a few hours ago, so to be safe...
I liked how you linked the Polish version.
I'm multicultural
But it was the only one viewable. I tried the english version, but it wasn't available for some reason.
I'm impressed that there's fortress attacking in the naval gameplay. I assumed it would be only ship to ship combat.
The Naval gameplay isn't really getting me. To be honest I'm more excited about Dishonored than AC3. But that may change once the game comes out.
I don't get the Naval gameplay... Why would a native american assassin have the know-how to pilot a warship? A canoe, sure... but an entire warship? I dunno...
Cus he's awesome.
Obviously he's not going to just come across a warship and know how to use it. Alex actually said there will be a storyline reason why he learns.

Oh. I have no doubt that there is a storyline reason he learns... but how believable that storyline reason is will be a different story.
Also, how does reliving memories of a warship help Desmond in upstate New York and with breaking into Abstergo (likely in Philadelphia)? It can't be a "the Animus won't let us access that memory until you do these other memories first" thing again like Brotherhood... can it?
I'm not sure what you mean by believable. The Assassins are european, it's very likely that they have naval based members or contacts who can train Connor. Captaining a ship was a task entrusted to people as young as 17 in those days. If you have a crew who knows that they're doing, your basic training to maximum effectiveness could only take a few years.
I'm not doubting the how or what... I'm doubting the why aspect of his commanding a navy ship. Why would he focus years of training to learn that skill at the consequence of his other skills.
It made sense that Ezio would become the head of the Assassins and have recruits, send them on missions, etc. Why does it make sense for Connor to pilot a naval warship?
I have faith the Ubisoft will pull it off. But I don't see the obvious reasons right now... and THAT's my hesitation.

Also, what is Desmond learning from these high seas and Caribbean adventures that will stop the Templars in Philadelphia? Or stop a solar flare? Only time will tell...
It might just be a new gameplay mechanic for fun. I think they just forgot that the ancestral memories are supposed to be a training tool for Desmond.

I'm convinced that Desmond is trained... AC3 will be about information gathering for the Assassins.
Plus, with the new model behavior and gameplay mechanics... Desmond will likely fight/move like Connor... but should he?
Obviously Desmond has to learn to pilot a ship so he can lead his fellow assassins to the Bermuda Triangle to retrieve an artifact that brings people back to life. Or what JoeyFogey said.
They didn't forget about the training aspect, but Desmond's not in the animus to be trained any more. We don't know why he's back, but it's not for training. (though learning more about guns will probably help him out.)
As for WHY, obviously it's because Conner needs to take out some Templars who are captaining ships and holed up in strongholds in the carribean. Remember that the carribean is pretty far away, travelling on land, then waiting for them to come in to resupply would be inneficient, slow and risky, as port towns would have more guards and security than a ship.
It's at once a tool for quick transportation, and a weapon that gives him an advantage/equal footing with naval-based templars.
He gets caught up in the war, a lot of the war involved naval battles. It makes sense why it's there.
Supposedly the AC3 model for Desmond (looking for a legitimate source). Looks like we won't get any more Adam Sandler in our game, now!
I personally thought the AC2/Brotherhood versions were worse than the revelations one. This looks better than all 3, though I'd like to see an actual screen rather than a render.
you guys are looking to deep in this ubisoft was searching for an new and fun thing to do in ac3. now it is just also so that during that time a lot of battles where fought at see so they made the decision to make an fun naval mini game and wrote the story around it.
Yeah. And if they couldn't come up with a good reason for making Connor a captain then they would not have done it.
because there is an Templar on a boat.

I know soooo many people are going to hate the music for this trailer, but it made me smile. This isn't a bad pop song at all.
And so few games use music for their trailers that give you such a soaring feeling.
It stands out to me.
(and remember, this premiered during the super bowl, so it was to their advantage to use a pop song)

It premiered during last night's opening game of the NFL season, not the super bowl. I saw it when it came on live.
Also, nothing's wrong with the song. Desmond is coming home, afterall. He's been in Italy/transport for 4 games now... He's coming home.
Actually...it's a terrible song. It truly is. Why a terrible modern pop song is featured in an ACIII commerial is beyond my comprehension. Ubisoft, if you're reading this (and I know you are), kindly fire the person who choice that song.
As for the Desmond model, he looks much shinier and sleeker.
The song is good for a trailer, but it doesn't really fit the AC themes, much. We'll still have epic soundtrack when we play.
"I’m coming home
Tell the World I’m coming home
Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday
I know my kingdom awaits and they’ve forgiven my mistakes
I’m coming home, I’m coming home
Tell the World that I’m coming"
Ratonhake:ton, one that is scratched.
Protector of his homeland.
It's not word for word the themes, there's even a little bit of stuff that you could see as a biblical allegory.
But moving past pain and making your mark on the world, that's a Connery Assassiny thing.
I dunno. I hate when pop music gets overplayed, but I unironically like some of it.
And putting that song as the soundtrack to that trailer was the most unironic and uncynical thing I've seen in game trailers for a while. And it reminds me that I'll get to come back to a new, full AC game, with new Desmond adventures and a whole big world in a new time period. My gaming home. :3
This trailer makes me excited, is all. I fully expect it to be hit and miss with a lot of people.
It isn't available in my country. WTF is this shit?
Its Obvious why they picked that song. Cause the Ac fanchise in coming to 'merica. Merica = home..

A video game set in "New England", created by a French-Canadian company, and directed by an Australian. Yep. Totally American.
It's the home of the main character of the game. And it was aired in america
What i said was pretty stupid. I've been off lately.
As for the Desmond model he looks good. The best model yet IMO.
When are the next 2 parts of Inside AC3 coming out? I was expecting the third part last week. Isn't it a weekly upload?
They never said that. Guess it's two for two weeks in a row, then a break and then the other two.
Makes sense to space it out before the game comes out.
I'm assuming that subtitles will automatically appear below them, regardless of whether the player decides to add subtitles.
Embarrassing for me because the first time I played ACII, I didn't even know that the hell people where saying. That's when I realized that I should've probably turned on subtitles...
And whatever happened to stealth? I wanna see more gameplay footage on sneaking and blending, not these constant (yet cool) kill animations.
They always show tons of kill animations in the pre-release marketing and behind the scenes stuff.
AC has always been about combat as much as stealth.
Stealth is usually shown in walkthroughs.
They've shown air assassinations, kills from tall grass, and the rope dart hanging animation. Those are all from stealthy positions. What sells is "MURDER MURDER MURDER", so they have more of that.
Stealth kills =/= stealth. Stealth isn't something you can easily show in a few fast clips. It's an experience of stalking, retreating, monitoring patterns, exploring, and acting.
Best suited to a walkthrough.
As I said before, using kills to show the game has always been a part of AC marketing, and the new combat kills have always been a big draw for AC sequels.
I love the wicked inventiveness of the animation team.
They can at least show a development video revolving around Connor sneaking past enemy lines and into a fortress without being seen. I don't want him charging recklessly and slaying every Red Coat with his tomahawk and dagger.
I want him silently assassinating away enemies, and hiding their corpse.
Hey - that brings another question: will you fail the mission if enemies see a dead ally? In other AC missions, some ran for it while others walked away and went about their business.
Thanks al-Assas.

Ezio from Brotherhood, huh?
Seriously, Ubisoft. Seriously?
His robes from Brotherhood were in my opinion (and many others) are the ugliest. Why not his robes from ACII, or ACR? Hell, even put Altair into it!
Ubisoft, you fucked up. Big time.

I don't think it's too bad. I'd have preferred AC2's, but hey, at least it's not ACR's. I thought those were the worst.
Thanks Joey.
Brotherhood Ezio was him in his prime. While Revelations Ezio was more skilled, Brotherhood Ezio never complained about his back unless he was recovering from a bullet wound. And his Brotherhood outfit is probably the most iconic and obviously assassin outfit Ezio ever had.
Didn't read the rest because I'm trying to avoid spoilers. Will probably avoid this forum til launch now, lol.

I hear ya....
Don't worry. No spoilers in the Uplay stuff. Otherwise I would've put them under spoiler tags.
