Hey all,
Just found this site yesterday, so I thought I'd register and post here before asking questions in other forums.
I, despite my screenname here and thread topic, do not work in fast food, nor do I frequent it... but I do love cheese, and the dual hidden blades.
As far as video games are concerned, I didn't have much growing up (26 now) other than Super Mario Bros. Recently, my gaming didn't really start until college, and even then it was mostly sports games (football). I'm not a huge fan of the run-around-bang-bang games, but I do have Black Ops and BF3.
I just got the AC series (1 and 2) for Christmas last year, as I finally had some time to play something other than a football game here and there. I loved the first one (despite becoming bored by side missions after the first 5 or so assassination targets) and the second one is even better. I actually have not completed the second one yet, but likely will by this time next week. I'm unsure on others' opinions on this here, but I am a fan of the overarching story line with the present day stuff... It opens the devs to go anywhere in history they want to, as many times as they want to. I've never done this before for any game, but I might actually go out and get AC3 on release day this fall, that's how much I've liked the first two (I've ordered ACB and ACR, and they will arrive shortly).
Call me McStab, Cheese or Duck (not relevant to THIS screenname, but it is on my other forums -- and my image here), or anything else to get my attention.
Hi, Cheese (I've decided I'll use that name )! It sounds like your opinions of the AC series are somewhat similar to many here. It's always good to have new fans of the series join us and provide a fresh perspective, so welcome!
I guess I left this out: I play on the xbox360.
I'm actually just starting memory block 11 in AC2... which means I need to decide how/when to purchase 12 and 13. How do they work in the missing memory blocks in the Desmond storyline? Would it make sense to go forward with the game as is, then get the extra stuff? Or go with the extra stuff now, in order with Ezio's life?
Welcome, Cheese! Thanks for joining. I'm glad you're enjoying the games. It will be interesting to hear your comments on the ones you have played so far, as well as the other two when you get to them. Check out the Other Gaming forum as well; you can spread the love for some sports games.
Somehow I think you're going to be the comic relief user of this site. When I first saw your username I thought it was a spoof of the site owner, Stabguy. In fact there is a resemblance...
(No, I didn't mean it, Stab)

You can't replay story mission in AC2, so if you want to play those sequences after beating the game you would have to restart and play again up to that point.

Thanks for that info. The game was only like $15 or something... so paying extra doesn't hurt the wallet... will purchase before playing sequence 11, just to be safe. (I wonder why the DLC doesn't go down in price over time).

Also, I'll do my best to be comic relief... hopefully intended by myself, and not from stupid questions/comments.
Hey Duck, welcome to the site.
Aurel, he can't become the comic relief of the site, because you already are.
Welcome! I think you might have the longest name on the site. It doesn't even fit your section in each comment, haha.

haha.
Yeah, I noticed that. I thought it was clever and didn't want to shorten it though. The site gave me enough characters to work with, so I took them. I guess I'll just be Double McStab w...

Sorry to ruin the image comparison, Aurl, but I got my buddy to hook me up with an image. I guess I will embrace the name Cheese on this site.

That's not the way it works. If you finish the game and then install Battle of Forli and/or Bonfire of the Vanities, it loads up the new sequences and lets you play them one time (out of order and without starting a new game). It was first explained in this topic. I think Lisa wrote up a better explanation of how the two scenarios differ story-wise but I haven't been able to find her comment.
That said, I would still recommend playing Sequences 12 and 13 before Sequence 14.
Oh and welcome to The Hidden Blade, Cheese!

It's been a while since I played this part of the game, but I'll do my best to remember it:
If you go through the game without the dlcs, Desmond remarks that there's something missing. If you get it before you enter sequence 14, I think it goes on naturally (without remarking anything). If you buy it after you beat the game, you can play these memories when you load your game, I believe.

So, if I download them in advance, it's as if they were always there.
If I don't, all it is is "huh, something's missing" and not actually woven in the story.
If I download later, it's not in the story at all, I just play.
Hmm... if there's no point to the "missing memories" in the story arc, I'll go ahead and make sure they are not missing in advance, thank you very much.
(Apparently, when I discover a new toy -- this forum -- and my boss is out of town, I'm online a lot. I don't expect this volume of posts from me in the future... but who knows.)

I found Lisa's comment. It was about The Da Vinci Disappearance (a DLC for AC: Brotherhood) and was posted in an AC: Revelations topic. No wonder I couldn't find it! Here it is anyway (spoilers for Brotherhood): Lisa's DLC scenarios

Correct.
If I don't, all it is is "huh, something's missing" and not actually woven in the story.
"These memories are corrupted in the Animus." or some such hand-waving.
If I download later, it's not in the story at all, I just play.
"Hey, Desmond. I managed to restore those memories. Here you go."
Out of all the AC dlcs, I think Bonfire of the Vanities and Battle of Forli are two of my favorites. Lots of opportunities for stealthy action and new story aspects that hint at the ending sequence.

Oops, my bad.
Welcome Cheese. Hope you stick around to the site
Welcome, Cheese!
It's a pleasure to have you here, we're always open to and welcome new members
Thanks for all the welcome messages fellas (and lady).
As a followup to suggestions in this thread, I went home and downloaded the Forli and Bonfire DLCs, and I'm glad I did. (Actually, I think I just spent about 30 minutes in the flying machine kicking people at first). However, I can see why someone would want to uninstall them after playing them. The Forli one takes some time (haven't done sequence 13 yet). That said, I'm not as creative as some here. So, all those "opportunities for stealthy action" passed me by, for the most part. It was something different to be in an all out battle... but it was tedious. I took to just shooting people on the other platforms near the end.
Sorry, I'm rambling now on things that are 3 years old for most of you. Maybe you can "relive your AC2 days" through some of my minutia.
It's quite alright. I get a little nostalgic now , lol.
Welcome to the site! And I hope "you enjoy Venezia, as much as she enjoys, having you…" (I mean the site, not Venezia.)
As long as you're enjoying your nostalgia... I now have a quote to add to the favorite quotes... Desmond's last words before the credits roll: "What. The. Fuck."
That said, all I have left to complete is the damn feathers... and I don't want to cheat... I'm up to 65 or so, I think... I only have feathers in Florence and Venice left... Some parts of the day SUCK for feather hunting though...
Oh jeeze, I remember when I was searching for the final feather in AC2. It was a living hell for me. It ended up being on a wooden platform between two narrow buildings in Venice. I looked for hours for about 3 days just for that one feather. O_o
