Connor gets some peace and quiet at Bridewell

Like I promised Aurll... a video.

For this video, I wanted to to see what would happen in later memories in Bridewell prison if I killed all the guards and prisoners early on. As you can imagine, this takes some time (hence the sped up video... it appears I'm getting better at this). Some notes - white text is meant to be Ratonhnhaké:ton's inner monologue; yellow for actual speech.

First, I killed everyone on a "restart from checkpoint." Otherwise, the guards that escort you down the stairs are roaming around. If you restart the "steal the key" mission, these two guards don't spawn. Problem 1 solved.

Secondly, you have to manipulate the directions some guards are looking before killing others or you'll be detected. To do this, get them to push you. The guard on the bridge on the top floor can detect the kill on the second floor, that's why I changed floors there.

Third, to kill civilians in this game with no penalty, equip bare hands and lock onto them to strangle them... as you are in prison, you don't have to worry about the weapon thing. Once a few people die, the prisoners run around. This causes them to bunch at the stairs. (This was the first time the bunched on the lower stairs. In my previous attempts, they always bunched on the upper stairs). Just approach them, hit the lock button, and mash the attack button until you're content.

Finally, I wanted to show the prison after this occurs. None of the incapacitated guards nor prisoners respawn. It's eerie, because (although not in the video) the sound of them all is there, just not the character models. This makes it really easy to find Mason, though. In addition, it makes it really easy to find out who you are going to need to fight.

Only when you are in the fighting circle can you fight the thugs, as previously noted by aurll. One thing I haven't tried is to whistle lure a guard inside the future fighting area before incapacitating him. Then, maybe in the fighting ring later you can use your other fighting abilities against them... like picking up the gun (which I tried on all the other guns unsuccessfully). This could be interesting as you can loot all the guards bodies... maybe picking up some ammo (I don't remember right now).

I didn't show the next part of the mission because, sadly, it didn't work. The whole reason I did this was to see if the guards would be present on the way to Hickey's cell. They are. I guess this makes sense in hindsight, because whether they would respawn or not, it's a different part of the prison and I didn't have access to those guards previously. Oh well.

I'm happy with how this video turned out! To be honest, most of the time when the video and audio links up, it was a happy coincidence (like when the camera pans around Ratonhnhaké:ton at the end of the guitar solo). I did spend some time editing some parts though. This is the first time I've tried anything like this, with multiple audio tracks and video and trying to sync it all up. Plus, I got to use my favorite song from growing up: Enter Sandman, track #1 on Metallica's Black Album, if memory serves me. Hopefully you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Now that this is "front paged" (haha... we need some new material if stuff like this is on the front page... Tongue) and under a "stealth" category... I do want to clarify some things about the "stealth" in this approach.

No matter if no other guard is looking at you, the SSI red and yellow arrows always flash when you're incapacitating a guard. Always. If you have no line of sight to any other guard, they'll still flash. I haven't been able to do this without them flashing. All said, I don't think the guards actually see you... because if they did, you'd be detected and would auto-desync.

I think this is a glitch, but maybe not. Maybe they do see you and just don't care (only indicators from live guards will flash, not incapacitated ones).

I was quite entertained by the silent jailbreak, great job! That's how it should have been done.

Um, what exactly did you promise me? Sorry, I don't remember.

This is why everyone needs to read the comments in the order I post them, regardless of thread. Tongue

Are you referring to the end of the video where the gate opens and there is no one in the prison at all? If so, yes. It's funny to see the gate open and have free rein over the empty prison.

Also forgot to mention, there are 8 individuals that can detect/desync you from a restart: the 7 guards and Finch. This is why I really took care of Finch to start with. He'll desync you even with no guards around anymroe.

From the first playthrough, there would be these 8 + the 2 roaming escorts that brought you from your cell.
