Well... I guess its all speculation. When you do the corner assassination you make it look like they're leaning against the wall to sleep. The regular kill raises suspicion, but there isn't any proof someone actually knocks them out (except maybe some bruises on the neck, which can be easily missed). You knock them out a few seconds after grabbing them. Even if they remember those few seconds, no one else saw you. Ian made a mysterious death video where he lured the targets to him by being seen by them.

Yes, but he killed them. No one lived to tell the tale. The whole point of a mysterious death is the fact that nobody knows WTF happened at that location. People just disappeared and/or died in inexplicable ways. If guys wake up and go, "Some guy choked me from behind!" then all the mystery is gone. Big smile

It would be different if the unarmed take-downs were kills, but they're not. I'm all for seeing pacifist gameplay (and plan to do some myself) but I wouldn't call it mysterious. That's my take on it though. There is no official definition. Smile

You know, the guys at PcGamer (you can find them on YouTube) are actually doing a Dishonored playthrough where they obfuscate every kill to look like an accident. It's really fun to watch and I think it would definitely be interesting.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!.. Unless you don't live in the US, in which case you most probably don't celebrate Thanksgiving; in that case, happy thursday!

The real holiday for me was Black Friday. After 12 hourse camping different videogame offers and about $185 I got away with Darksiders 2, Borderlands 2, Dishonored, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (I really wanted to get this one, R.A. Salvatore is a genius), adn AC3! So maybe I can slowly crawl back to the forums and not stay away trying to avoid any AC3-spoiler. I also got Skyrim and Mass Effect 2 as gifts for a couple of friends, so my Christmas shopping is already done I guess.
Anyone else got something cool from Black Friday as well?

Apart from that, anything big I've missed out?

Did all my Black "Friday" shopping Thursday morning.

Picked up some Turtle Beach X12s for $35... that's all the shopping I needed to do this year. Already had Christmas shopping done.

It's a story of a reporter in the Marvel Universe. It follows him from the beginning of the Golden Age of comics (1930s-1940s) through the 1970s, give or take. It shows the evolution of the heroes as well as how a normal person reacts to masked heroes and villains fighting every day. One of the best graphic novels out there.

Stabguy would be the one to ask.

If there is a limit, it's gotta be pretty high. My AC2 FAQ is over 48,000 characters long. Cool

My friend bought me a Skin for a Champion in League of Legends. I really like knives and other blades. So now I'm wondering what to do with my Christmas money. Do I get him a skin back, or do I get myself a 3DS game and a nice knife from the Asian lady a short bus ride from here?

Around December 15. I'm not sure if you consider that to be "soon" or not. I like to give myself and others a chance to finish the game before seeing a complete list of targets, as that list itself is a spoiler.

I see this might take some more time (in chat Stabguy admitted he was still on sequence seven). But I'm sure he'll get to it as soon as he can *cracks whip*. In the meantime, here is a list of the types of AC3 assassinations so far:
Turkey Shoot
Eagle Strike
Early Death
Blitz

Stunts haven't been done, but they're possible. There was also that firecracker kill. Should that be it's own style, or could it be considered a type of longshot?

Now for the targets. I'm not sure if it's worth it to have a section listing all of them, especially when some of the kills are so lame. How are you supposed to be creative when you're prompted to push Armed hand ?

While I'm not sure what type of assassination it is, I did manage to rope-hang William Johnson(would have a screen if his body didn't dissapear after the cutscene), and I managed to silent kill him (without clearing all the guards/poisoning the executioner).
I don't have recording material though Sad

So...
AC3 has been out for two months now (the day before yesterday to be precise). When would be a good time to start posting vids from the other games? I'm not saying I'm done with AC3 or anything, some things are just a bit tedious to record.

I finished AC3 yesterday (January 1, 2013). Rob's applause It took me eight weeks to play the first six sequences and four days to do the last six! It could have been even faster except I stopped to liberate New York, deliver the mail, etc. Anyway, I'll get started on those AC3 menus now.

There was also that firecracker kill. Should that be it's own style, or could it be considered a type of longshot?

I plan to make an Explosives category that will include Firecracker and Trip Mines.

Now for the targets. I'm not sure if it's worth it to have a section listing all of them, especially when some of the kills are so lame.

I'll go ahead and list them all. It will be good for Full Sync videos and anything creative leading up to the "Press Xbox X button" moment.

Photoshop should be able to edit GIFs frame-by-frame, I think.

You're better off just getting it straight from the source, though.

This is weird. There's a headline news story about a rapper driving a Maserati on the Las Vegas Strip being shot at and crashing into a taxi, leaving three people dead. They've identified the taxi passenger and it's a lady I knew from Seattle. She must have been vacationing in Las Vegas.

An article on how AC will out live us all.

What a lot of people forget is that the games would have to center around time periods after 1000 AD or so. Unless it's First Civilization or they dropped the Templar/Assassin War and focused on other historical events before then that had famous icons possibly using PoEs.

But then that would defeat the purpose of the title of the franchise.

Joey. I see no reason they can't go pre-1000... Even if the assassins and templars aren't official groups. The creeds that holds these groups together are just that: creeds, ideals, ideas. I think one of the templars said as much when he said that you can kill them all off, but templars would come back. That said, if Adam and Eve broke off early on, their ideas and longing for peace and free will were around long before the assassins were Assassins. Fighting for peace and choice is as universal through history as breathing.

Also, thanks to the vaults in AC2 and the images in the truth puzzles, we are already aware of many many events pre-1000AD that were Assassin/Templar centric. Here's a few:

465 BCE - Persian Assassin Darius kills Xerxes I
323 BCE - Iltani poisons Alexander the Great
210 BCE - Wei Yu assassinates Qin Shi Huang with a spear
41 CE - Leonius kills Caligula
44 CE - Marcus Junius Brutus (Assassin) and 39 others kill Julius Caesar. Brutus's documentation leading up to this event? The Scrolls of Romulus you collect in ACB (to get Brutus's armor).
