I've found it interesting too, seeing the differences in education between the US and the UK.

I'm going to win, trust me. Wink

I think it's expecting a lot of a 15 or 16 year old for them to know a) what they want to do in life b) what they want/need to study to get there c) what subjects they should take before university to enable them to be accepted on a degree course.

This reminds me of one of my middle school years. They wanted me to pick the subjects, but I didn't know what classes I wanted! Even now I don't know what to do in life. Good luck to the rest of you. *four leaf clover*

Yeah, it's hard to have any idea about anything when you're younger, How old are you now, if you don't mind me asking?

Twenty three. No point trying to hide my age, it says it on my youtube channel.

Maybe you don't have to make a conscious decision. You might not end up doing something amazing but everything may just fall into place so you end up being quite happy doing what your doing.

Find something you love and make a living off of it. Even if it pays less than you expect, at least it's enjoyable for you. My brother asked me to draw out a short graphic novel once. (I think I mentioned this before)

It was picked up by Image or Top Cow comics. Since we were unknown to the business, they asked us to make a first draft copy of a scene or two for no pay, to see how we'd do. My brother wasn't happy about it, as he wanted to be paid for his work. I, on the other hand, wouldn't mind doing it for free, since our names would be out there in the open for any publisher to hire us for future projects. My brother didn't agree with my lenient view and scrapped it.

Sometimes you gotta sacrifice some things to get started. Get your name out there and make connections. Either with friends or peers at work/school. If we actually ended up making the comic for Image, my name and art style would be seen by publishers. I'd have a chance to be recognized and make a living off of my dream job. If you get a chance to do that, make sure you can do it and go for it. No regrets!

I've been playing Glitch for the last 8 months. It's a harvesting, gathering, animal-tending, mining, crafting, walking-about game. It's closed at the moment because it's in beta. But I really like it, even if there's no assassinating in it.

I had to remove a bougainvillea from my front yard today; it was mostly dead anyway. But now both my arms are covered in cuts and scrapes. That's okay though - they look like battle scars and are suitable for a Master Assassin like me.

Death to bougainvillea.

I have to get my wisdom teeth removed on the 26th. :/ Goodbye solid food. Hello to looking and speaking like Marlon Brando, inability to play, and pain meds.

it's not that bad. i had a wisdom tooth removed a while back.
sure, it deos hurt like hell, and the bleeding took way longer to stop than it should but it won't have any effect on eating solids or speaking

I'm getting both out on the bottom and the doctor has told me I can't have solid foods and I'll be on a ton of pain meds. :/

really? that's a bit odd

i probably mentoned this before right after it happened
one wisdom tooth at the top had been infected. the infection then spread to the tooth next to it, had to remove both.
they just used local anastethic shot into the gums. it still felt like they were sticking knives in my mouth, but the pain faded quickly.

i didn't get any meds what so ever, and the only problem i had was that it kept bleeding for 2 days straight.
had no problem eating solids, apart from the awkward feeling on the empty hole.

so i don't understand why you would have to go through that much trouble

as an outsider, i don't understand what all the fuss is about.
how can health care for all be a bad thing?

Some doctors like to tell you the worst-case scenario so you'll be prepared and then pleasantly surprised when it isn't as bad as they said.

The problem with your question, Rob, is that it is a rational question. The fuss is mainly (wildly) irrational so there is no way to get a sensible answer to it.

HAHA - yeah. Did you mean our discussion here was approaching Godwin's Law, or just the hysteria in the U.S.?

Roughly : Godwin is a guy who rightly noticed how the more an internet conversation goes on (especially when it turns into an argument), the higher the chances are that Hitler and/or nazism will be mentionned.

Not much really. Started a podcast with a couple of friends and I've been managing a website with another one. My computer has become a synonym of more work to do and I've just grown apart from it.
Also I had to ruin a couple of templar operations that showed up in the city Big smile

Your exactly right.except he'd be a free mason in real life.
