if you have a partnership doesn't that mean you get paid for doing videos ?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which

Pretty much. Mostly it depends on my views, not necessarily how many videos I make. My Roxio device won't capture, though. No high-quality videos anytime soon. :'(

suggestions to get you more views....

A. playthrough with commentary with that sexy voice Big smile you talk about you should do good with commentary
you don't have to be uptight just tell random stories about something related to the game

i felt soo horrible saying "sexy voice"

B. you could always just vlog and talk about your day
people seem to like that

C. you could talk about topics that matter to you but also appeal to others

Which of your videos are enabled for revenue sharing?

My YouTube account is also in the revenue sharing program but none of my videos meet the eligibility requirements. You're supposed to have written permission to include visuals from video games. As we discussed earlier, some folks have gotten around this. I haven't been bold enough submit any of my videos for revenue. Can you walk us through how it works?

I was actually talking to some friends about making a separate channel about our fun times we have, then keeping my current (joeyfogey55) as a gaming channel.

How on earth did you manage to get a partnership? All I have is the ability to get upload vids that are longer than 15 mins

To be honest, I don't even think I deserve it. haha

That stupid compilation video of Tobuscus I made was offered up for the partnership, I filled out the form, and a few days ago my AdSense account had stats/cash flow charts up starting from the day I was accepted. I've had the 15 minute video length for a while now, as well.

Joey, did you miss my question? We posted simultaneously.

For months, YouTube has been pestering me to submit several videos ("12 Ways", "Stuck in MB4", etc.) for revenue sharing. This week they broadened the invitation to my whole account. I accepted. Now when I go to "My Videos" it says Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for monetization and links to this help article.

It's the same problem as before: you must own worldwide commercial usage rights to everything in your videos, and be able to prove it in writing. I'm tempted to submit one video and see what happens. How did you answer the question about whether the video contains game or software visuals? What did you put for a description of content?

You won't even feel the blade.

Sorry for missing the comment before. I always click the "Top of Page" link.

I said straight up that my videos involve gameplay/clips from other sources, but that they are all put together in my own unique way. Basically, I proved how everything I did in the videos was original except for the game I was playing. And for the music videos/compilations, I said the same thing, except the source wasn't from me. That seemed to work out pretty well, I guess. Smile

Hey I also just got an email for a youtube partnership! I filled out the forms but im a little worried about one of the requirements, video games is on the list of some of the material that doesnt get paid.

Anyway I have like over 200 videos now, do i have to go over every description and modify it so that I acknowledge that the video game itself isnt my actual work?

I have recently seen some other ACB Multiplayer uploaders with a star next to their uploads, and they have adds too. It looks like they are letting more people get this ability to get money. However this guy didnt have anything in the description that said stuff like he acknowledged he didnt make the game etc. He just had a typical description spamming youtube links.

Right so my latest video says it is monetized, yet I have no ads next to it.

Also when i signed up for the whole thing, they never asked for my bank details or how I could get paid... kinda pointless

Same here.

Anyway it looks like my videos have ads on them ( the latest ones that I bothered to monetize anyway) so it looks like this could actually work!

But I dont remember giving my bank details to AdSense, I might just look around a bit more.

Log in to AdSense and go to Home > Account Settings > Payment Settings. You can choose direct deposit or checks in the mail. Once you earn $10 USD or A$15 AUD (I don't know about New Zealand) they will verify your bank account or mailing address. They won't actually send money until they owe you $100 or A$150.

Seems my account is still under review, guess il just have to wait. However I can still monetize videos on youtube, so will those even count for anything if my adsense account hasnt been approved yet?

They probably keep track of your clicks/views and credit your account once approved. Google is pretty good about that sort of thing.

Its been approved, now, my earnings have been stuck on $00.00 though. Im guessing no one is clicking the ads? Apparently I get 1.6k views a day, but my elite gear video with 70k views has been marked for copyright for some reason thats probably where the majority are going.

Im guessing I will get barely any money because I doubt the people who watch my videos are the type who click ads.

Well I still have $00.00, maybe il just ignore it for a month and see what happens. If I actually do get revenue out of this thing I might keep my new PS3 instead of selling it, as those views are more popular than my PS2 ones.

The way to support a channel or site that you like is to occasionally click on advertisements. Spamming clicks does not work. Google is on to that. I don't believe that clicking "Like" on a video results in any advertising revenue.

How can they know? Do they check how many times an IP address clicks on internet ads in youtube videos or something?

Something like that. Google doesn't reveal the details of the algorithm. I'm referring to all Google ads, not just those on YouTube.

Google is terrifyingly smart. They adjust their search criteria for you based on 50 something different signals regarding your internet and computer, INCLUDING your distance from the computer while you're while using it. How they manage to know that plus another fifty different things, then compile it all into an instant search is something that borders pure madness.

The ones that scare me are LinkedIn and now Facebook. Both will innocently say, "Here are some people you may know." Usually it's someone you went to school with or who shares common friends with you on the site. Other times it's enough to make you scream, "HOW THE HELL DID YOU FIGURE OUT WE KNOW EACH OTHER!" Shock

I think I've got a line on it now. Facebook asks permission to examine your email contacts to "help" you find friends online. I say no (and I don't even use a local email client so there's no way it could snoop on my contacts). However, some of my acquaintances must say yes. Shortly after corresponding with someone by email for the first time I will receive an invitation from Facebook.

On my birthday I had 4 people I have never met before wish me a happy birthday on facebook. I fucking hate that shit. Who the hell goes around wishing complete strangers a happy birthday? Unless I actually knew them from way back and im making an idiot out of myself ( wouldn't be the first time....).

I get randomly friended by people all the time. It's nothing to get mad over (especially the birthday thing, they're just being nice) but it is a little odd when I message them asking "Hey, sorry, don't mean to be rude but I don't believe I remember you, how do you know me?" And they'll either respond "Oh, I'm sorry, must have friended you by mistake" (how does that happen) or "Who are you." I tend to get mad when the latter happens, you're the one who friended me!

That didn't come out right. I meant Facebook will say "you may know this person" (whom I just met and emailed), not that I receive an actual friend invitation from the person. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

It still feels like an invasion of privacy. It's as if I say, "No, you may not look at my email contacts." and Facebook replies, "Okay. We'll just track you down from the other side then." Creepy. Stare

Yep, everybody with X number of hits overall gets it. I got one a week ago but I'm not doing it since all of my videos are game footage which will flag them for copyright, then they'd all get taken down.

It's very sneaky of them – if we go non-profit we can leave our videos up, but if we try to make money on them they get taken down. Now they're trying to bait us all into making money off them. Very, very sneaky.

Even before they started giving out partnerships like candy, it could sometimes take days or even weeks before a video was noticed and flagged. Now that everybody on YouTube can have a partnership, it'll take a very long time before they get through all of them. I've been told that they can (and will) claw back any monies earned on a copyright-infringing video. It just might take them a while to do it.

Plus you're running the risk of a lawsuit for declaring that you do not have any copyright-infringing content when you really do. Smile

With all the risks, is it really worth the few dollars per month it'll generate? Not to me it's not. Cool
