On Ubi's official Assassin's Creed forum there was a topic in which the OP was asking if anyone knew a "clean" way of killing La Touche in this sequence, so no detection and using the hidden blade to kill the target. Since this is very hard for this target, a "challenge" was made. And as a hiddenblader I obviously had to rise to the occasion
Thought you guys might also be interested in the result.
The video is pretty straight forward on how to do it. I try to aim my second money pouch on the railing/bannister of the stage to get the biggest crowd on the execution stage. Then I try to aim the 3rd money pouch just right so that there is a blend group I can use to walk onto the stage undetected but still leave enough people on the stage so that I can blend there. I position myseelf behind the guillotine so that the guard opposite La Touche does not see me. I quickly check to my left to see if any guards are looking at my direction, and if not, I throw the cherry bomb. It has to be just far enough so that none of the guards to the left of the stage get distracted. I then walk up to La Touche and kill him. After the cinematic I quickly exit the stage using the cart and I walk into the crowd without the guards noticing me.
For those who are interested, I managed to kill La Touche without killing any of the guards this time.
I'm not sure if it needed its own thread though I so I'll post the link here for those who are interested:

Is it okay if I update the original story to show this video instead?
Yeah sure!
Do you want me to edit the OP to include the explanation of the new video?
Done. I struck-through the part about killing one guard. Feel free to update the description.
This new video is very impressive. It's short, gets right to the point and even includes a ghost escape. Nicely done, Altair Auditore.
Impressive indeed. The sheer number of guards makes it one of the hardest/frustrating assassination missions. Do you think it's possible to get on the execution stage without any kills or distractions? Now that would be insane. Technically disguise wouldn't violate the rules of a ghost run, unless it was minimal.
On the Marie assassination I've gotten close to not being seen. An air assassination with disguise lets you get away with the kill, but then you quickly lose it afterward. Do this with civilians nearby and you blend in right after, but usually there's a brief moment between losing disguise and blending. If I tried enough times it could work perfectly, but then it'd be based on luck.

it might be possible to get on the execution stage without kills or distractions,I'll try to check that later. But a kill without any distractions is 99% impossible due to the fact that there is a guard standing opposite La Touche.
Heh heh heh...
This was very nice, well done. Watching these is always great, especially after playing similarly yourself - even if you haven't first played this exact target.

Very good~
Very nice. It's the challenge of stealth that makes the unique kill more disappointing. Also the lack of optional scene kills, hence the complaints from players. A guillotine cutscene death would have been awesome.Altair Auditore wrote:

http://forums.ubi.com/forumdisplay.php/201-Assassin-s-Creed-General-Discussion-(Console) is the official forum site and http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1014154-Clean-Way-to-Kill-La-Touch%... is the particular thread

Thanks! I had this specific route in mind for some time so having it actually work out was pretty nice. My next target is checking to see if this assassination is possible without killing any other NPC's except the target.

If you don't consider disguise as cheating, that can really help. I had fun using disguise to sneak up on stage and blend in with the civilians right next to la Touche.
Also on that thread a discussion was started about Marie and her heightened detection. I have previously investigated the possibility of a silent kill and there's a good chance it's possible, so that's something else to try.

Even with ultrablending, she still starts an alert and you have to deal damage before assassinating her. Unless she stops after the chasing part, I don't see any other way...

Is she the one in the party indoors?
She didn't detect me before killing her on my first (and only to this point) playthrough of that mission. I just used the disguise ability and walked up to her to kill her from the side/behind... I guess it's possible that I got reeeeaaaalllly lucky.
I didn't ultrablend at all... and I disguised myself as the target herself.
