Oh, sorry for making my own topic, didn't see this.
Will post some artists and songs I like when I feel like it.
I listen to basically any genre if the production is good.
I read that FLAE likes instrumental, I recently found out about this band (Norway) called Xploding Plastix.
They have this glitchy-IDM-jazz-fusion track that I love called: Treat me mean, I need the reputation. (Sorry for the medium quality)
So I was a hardcore metal fan, the kind of rebellious nerd that doesn't listen to anything commercial (a commercial track would be any note that doesn't contain a two hours guitar solo) nor anything with a bpm slower than 999999999. Then I listend to some electronic artists and I loved it. Since then, I listen to pretty much anything, from rap to opera.
Here's another cool track by Ratatat:
And finally, a cool sexy one by Trentemöller.
How bout that Horse The Band...
and I Set My Friends On Fire
How bout that Horse The Band...
OH YEAH!!
There's this local radio that always play weird stuff and they played once Shapeshit.
They're amazing!! In the same style there's iamerror.
But I don't know I set my friend on fire :/ Gonna check'em.
I've gotten into the Zac Brown Band lately. Makes me want to sit on the beach with a beer.
This song makes me want to dance (VERY unusual):
Wolfmother has been a favorite of mine for a few years. I like them because almost every song has a different feel to it.
Recently I got into Daft Punk and SOJA. As you can tell, I'm pretty diverse in my music. But country shall never be on my list (except the infallible Johnny Cash).
I've really got into some random music lately. I like all sorts but I'm loving quite a bit of R&B with classic soul and funk elements (some of it's hard to describe ) at the moment. My mum has always like Motown and I think it may be rubbing off slightly.
People like Bluey Robinson (above), Cee Lo Green, Emeli Sande, Aloe Blacc and Aaron Delahuntey
I used to love Eminem, but ever since "Love the Way You Lie" he has been going steeply downhill. He hasn't made a good song in my opinion for a very long time.
Skylar Grey did a different version of "Love the Way You Lie," and while Eminem's part is less than satisfactory and completely throws off the tone and tempo of the song, Skylar Grey is absolutely perfect. This version of the song is so much better than the popular one it's not even funny.
TL;DR Skylar Grey > Rihanna
i've never heard of her before. she has a great voice. thank you
and don't you dare badmouth Rihanna

agreed i loved eminem too i did'nt like his version of the song at all but i do like fastlane
I don't know what it is (I had/have an extremely present father), but I can't listen to this song without crying. It's not my favorite song, but it certainly invokes more emotion in me than any other piece I've ever heard.
And that includes the credits song to Pokemon Crystal.
Maybe its out of place to post this now, but to all the members here on the forums, young or old, treasure your parents. Especially your father:
May I say...
HOLY F'ING SHIT
Anything really. I like Pendulum, Nickelback, Incubus, Deadmau5, Ministry of Sound, Queen, Miike Snow, Moby, Bob Marley, Jesper Kyd (AC soundtracks)
@Phi
I have to say, thank you, just thank you.
I've been living all my live in blindness.
Back to topic, I started listening to Porter Robinson's Spitfire a couple of days ago. Almost everything is great, I haven't really decided which are my favorites. Here are some of my favorites.

I know, right? I was like that a week ago as well. Then I figured I'd look up this awesome song I'd heard in the UKF podcast #13. This was that song. Mind was blown.

I just happen to be so redundant at some times. Damn you English language! xD
F'ing awesome. Real nice extraction of the violin piece. Vocals and music are combined in a way not seen a lot these days: the music and vocals complement eachother, instead of the music being an accompaniment to the vocals. Overall, the mix is great, spaces filled quite nicely with great accents, like the church bells.
Not really my style of dubstep, though. Also, a tad too slow. I'd have preferred a drumstep mix.
All in all, that was so awesome I listened to it twice. In a row.
this is one of my favorite music videos

Beyonce is usually very on/off for me. I loved her song Halo, but hated Single Ladies, and she tends to constantly produce I song I really enjoy and then a song I really dislike.
Countdown has a f*cking fantastic instrumental, not to mention Beyonce's voice is completely on-point. The lyrics are also easily identified as her situation with Jay-Z right now, and I'm glad she's willing to make a song that proclaims her affection rather than her annoyance with what she doesn't like as many female singers have done in the past. Also, she's the sexiest pregnant woman I've ever seen.
RANT MODE
Kim Kardashian, take notes. Beyonce loves her man and has made her marriage work. You couldn't last half a year with that bench warmer on the New Jersey Nets. Maybe if your heart was as big as your caboose you'd have a chance at true happiness.
RANT OVER
I couldn't agree more, FLaE. I very nearly posted about five Beyonce songs on here the other day but I was too busy listening to them!
Her newest songs, 'Party' and 'Love On Top' are both brilliant too, IMO. I particularly love the latter:
Bringing old topics back bit by bit.
I found some amazing "homework music" recently, which is just what I call any music that can help me stay focused on a particular task for long periods of time. It's the entire Crypt of the NecroDancer OST, and my god is it brilliant music.
