This game,is amazing.
Are you playing as a Nord named Hunter Hearst Helmsley?
No, a red gaurd. A.K.A booker t
Ok, haven't beat the story yet,iv'e played enough to be able to give my opinions.
I.Love.Skyrim.
At first i was extreamly doubting the game. But then like the week after it came out, my friends were talking about it. Saying it was the best game ever. And my friends haven't recommended me to anything that sucks yet!. Case in point Assassin's Creed II.
So when i went to my dads house, two weeks ago. I got the game. Played it when i got back to my moms. And was eddicted. I'll be honest, i did fell a sence of complete confusion, being that the game was vast and full of surprises.
I learned very quickly how important it was to save in this game.18 times already, ive gotten more than half way to my next mission. Then a troll comes outta no f*cking nowhere and starts kicking meh ass!!. Then im all the way back at where i started .
When a game stops me from playing assassins creed for more than a day.Thats saying somthing.

This hasn't happened to me yet
Thanks to Mass Effect and Pokemon I became what you would call a paranoid saver. In Skyrim, I'm halfway through lvl 37, I haven't finished a single story line, yet I have a total of 483 saves.
DAZ did you get the game?
Skyrim? Yeah. Very recently though and I've been sick a lot, so I'm level 11 right now

Am I correct?DAZ did you get the game?
How'd ya know?.
I know which troll you're talking about. I couldn't defeat it so I just ran past.
I've ran into atleast 3 trolls sofar. All have kicked my ass, but like i mentioned.I learned my lesson after the second comfrontation.
*Sees EA's pic*
...Sweet Jesus.
that troll surprised me too.
fortunately a friend had already told me that fire is pretty good against them.
just swing sword, back up, toss fire. repeat until dead. he didn't even get in a hit
I'd worship the man/woman who would even attempt to try finishing the story without saving.
I'm sure a Skyrim speedrun is possible.
Just leave it up to Speed Demos Archive, they'll have one up soon if they don't already guaranteed.
EA everyone remembers that troll. I wasn't expecting it but I had a bow and sword with fire enchantments and managed to take it down pretty quickly. Still I had to beat him 3 times cause it always killed Lydia almost before I killed him.
Yeah, i wasn't ready...at all.
By the time I came across that famous troll I was already pushing level 18. When the Graybeards came a-calling I told them to wait a couple days while I became leader of the Thieves Guild and leveled up sneak to 100 (which is like the greatest thing ever other than 100 archery which I will have shortly).
I already had five full shouts from exploring dragon roosts and word walls before I even spoke to the Greybeards. I get so off-track in this game
I'm currently stuck on the talmar embassy quest. I killed the guy and looted the chest. What do i do now. i try going back to the party, but i didn't kill the gaurds in that one room!.
you're not supposed to go back to the party
I completed it today. Lol.
here's a video of something they call "Gamejam" wher the devlopers just go nuts for a week and add whatever they feel like
it's awesome
The girl who asked me out through Assassin's Creed made me get Skyrim. The cuteness was unbearable. I had to. :/
Joey, your tale of girl-asking-you-out-through-Assassin's-Creed-then-making-you-get-Skyrim will never be forgotten. It is stored in my DNA. When my descendants look at my life through an Animus, they will see your story as DLC.

Is it weird that our way of flirting is through Skyrim-related phrases and/or puns? haha
Not at all. It's highly adorable.

She's said a lot of stuff that I don't get (never been into this kinda stuff), but I mostly get it.
examples please?
they gotta be better than what i came up with

(Had to look them up in my messages)
"Are you in the Thieves Guild? 'Cus you stole my heart!"
(This next one is what I said)
"Hey, are you Dragonborn? 'Cus I'll make you shout all night."
That's pretty much it. I thought there was one more, but I'm too lazy to look.

She sounds wonderful.

Whenever I play Skyrim, I usually spend about 3 hours having the greatest time, then out of nowhere a bear or something jumps out and kills me, and I lose about a half hour of progress. Then I quit and come back a week or so later, then the process repeats. It's exactly like Red Dead. I love the game, but I can't actually deal with it if it becomes to regular a presence in my life. Just... so much to do. So many uncompleted quests. So many times I've killed a tough enemy in a brilliant fight, but then gotten killed by a trash monster a few minutes later, then realized I didn't save. Wasted time. Stressful.
So glad I got this game, though.
I wish there was a better system for switching between spells. Is there a mod for it on PC? I want to be able to switch between destruction spells and others as a pure mage but the process is too long to do so repeatedly and I find myself just spamming overcharged fireballs constantly (which is still fun, just not as interesting as using a wider array of spells).
I've seen plenty of mods regarding favorites organization and quick change. What exactly is it that you're looking for?
I started over,i was literally stuck on a mission for a while. So i restarted my story mode.
I actually did things the right way this time. Bought a house, married. And killed two dragons....
2 dragons... what a noob.
This game has been eating up so much of my time and is fully responsible for the lack of AC content from my end.
I lost track around 20 dragons or so.
.....
I lost track around 20 dragons or so.
That's probably because it eventually gets annoying with dragons constantly appearing in cities and while traveling. I seem to be going on and off with this game. When I do play it, it's awesome.

... I turned on the "More Dragons" mod because I didn't think there were enough dragons attacking me. I am currently in the mid-upper 20's of Dragons killed. About 5-6 of those Elders, the rest Blood and Frost (with about 2 normals).
I now have Summon Durhneviir (the dragon in the Soul Cairn of Dawnguard), so I got to watch him duel another dragon the other day. It was hilarious.

You haven't got Odahviing? Because you ought to summon both Odahviing and Durneviihr. That would be fucking awesome.

Not yet. You get him in the Main Quest Line, correct? I am about to go retrieve the Elder Scroll in both Main and Dawnguard Quest Lines.
I am thinking about buying this game. (Yes, I know I'm kind of slow, the game was released late 2011) I have some doubts though.
I am really attracted by the freedom in the game, the setting and the huge map. But I'm not that into magic spells, enchantments, super special magical increasing strength potions and all that. Is that a vital part of the game? Because I'm worried I won't like it if magic and supernatural business is very important to the game.
Also, I have never played any of the earlier Elder Scrolls games. Is that a big deal, of can I just jump right into this one?
Somebody gave me Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (not Skyrim) along with the official guide. I played it for about eight hours but lost interest.
Like you, I'm not into magic (or fantasy in general). That had something to do with it. For example, my arrows would cause more damage if I put a spell on them before firing. No thank you.
Expect to spend at least an hour just creating your character. I heard that Oblivion did stealth better than most stealth games, so I designed my character for maximum stealth. He looked like a leopard who walked upright. Their idea of stealth combat is to shoot arrows from a safe distance. Whenever I got into close range combat, I'd get my ass kicked. Even the animals in the frontier would kill me.
Another thing I didn't like was the way dialogues were presented. The other guy's face would look directly into the camera like he was reading the nightly news. I never heard my character speak. Instead, I got to read two or three options for what he might say and pick one. So the conversations always sounded one sided.
Again, this was my experience with Oblivion, not Skyrim. I don't know how much things have changed from one to the other.
Skyrim lets you do your own thing at your own pace. You can use magic, or NOT use magic (I never really did). I guess if you count the Dragon Shouts as magic, then you'll use those in the story mode at given times, but it doesn't force you. It's a pretty user-friendly game. I loved it and I usually don't enjoy those types of games.
I played skyrim without playing the other elder scrolls. Its ok if you didnt played them, because its totally different story and characters. Skyrim is amazing. And if you dont love spells, you can always be a warrior- armor, shield and a sword- without magical thing
That's great guys, thanks.
I saw I can get it now for just €20, which is a bargain, really. I think it used to cost €60 at the release date. Also, normally I spend €50 for a new game. At least that's what I spent on ACR and AC3, and I got those as soon as I could.
One more question though: what's the story like? (without spoiling anything, please )
There are a lot of stories in Skyrim.
The most developed ones have some emphasis on heroic fantasy themes, but you can choose a more lowly or nefarius path.
Edit: Let me recommend a vampire mod:
Belua Sanguinare Revisited
