I think this game is just perfect, i'm looking forward into buying it.
What about you ?
Do you like that kind of game ?
Will you buy it ?
Let's discuss. ;D
From what I've seen it looks amazing!!
My favorite part so far is the dragons and dragon shouts ^.^
What about you?
My favorite partS are:
1st - The huge and detailed open-world to Explore.
2nd - The 120+ Dungeons and the 300 Hours of Gameplay. (The director Todd Howard confirmed that)
3rd - The "stealth" implemention, i love being the "Stealthy Archer" like Robin Hood.
4th - Dragons, Everything about Dragons, they are non-scripted, big, agressive and awesome.
I can't remember what more, but i'm sure that there was more stuff that i loved.
I didn't understand that much about the Dragon Shouts, and why he can absorb their souls and read their "language". Can you explain better for me ?
This games definitely deserves it's own topic.
Here's the gameplay demo for those who didn't see it.

There's also some information on the game informer website.
I've being watching this demo and the trailer for 1 week. Lol
This game deserves to be called EPIC !
Looks awesome. I love the fantasy themes of RPGs and the fact that they're open-world but often dislike some of the gameplay elements (e.g. fiddly combat). This, however, looks very impressive

I agree about the combat, but that's nothing to worry about. ;D
Yeah the combat on some RPGs, White Knight Chronicles, for example (still a good game btw), is pretty boring and unnatural. Normally it just involves pressing buttons to select specific actions which the character then carries out but his looks like you actually properly control the combat...?
Indeed. But since the game have alot of things to do, a huge world to explore, dungeons, etc, this is a minor problem, but in my opinion, this will start to annoy me at a time.
BUT, since i prefer using bow and arrow than magic or sword, that's something that i'll probably don't even care.
I love to play in Robin Hood style (bow and arrow, hidden, stealthy, silent, and sometimes if needed i'll use a sword) ;D

Essentially, the bloodlines known as Dragonborn, of which the player character in Skyrim is a part of, are capable of absorbing the powers of dragons and learning their language.

A little more on topic, I'm actually looking forward to Skyrim much more than I am AC:R.

Thanks man, anyway, i was searching this today, and i uderstand a bit.
Your character is a Dovaahkin (sorry if i typed it wrong), in other words, he is dragonborn, this means that he was born with the "soul" of the Dragons, the gods gave him this "power". Am i right ?

Another thing that i have some doubts is this new "skill" system. You won't be choosing a "class" in the beggining of the game, now you'll play and be whoever you want to be, without being "stuck" with the "class" you choosed in the beggining. This kinda messed up my head a bit.. :s If some of you can explain better for me or post the link of a topic that explains it, i'll appreciate.

Well, I'm not really sure how it all happened either. To be honest, I haven't really paid that much attention.

As for this, well... did you play any of the previous Elder Scrolls games? Before, you picked a class (either a premade one or one you made yourself) which had "major" and "minor" skills, which started off at a higher level than the leftover skills. That system is gone. There's no class system any more.
Like, if in Oblivion you picked say, the Spellsword class, you'd be picking one that was proficient in both bladed weapons and destruction magic, among others. In Skyrim, you can still simulate that (by wielding a sword in one hand and magic in the other), but instead of straight picking a class, you're also free to mix and match which skills you want to level, though specializing in different skills will (naturally) grant you better "Perks" for those skills.

Hmm.... You mean that the playstyle that i'm most playing will advance levels faster and also grant better Perks ?

Me too, i started a new game in Oblivion just because of Skyrim. I'm really REALLY excited for this game.
Well.. anyway, since no one is posting here recently let us discuss. ;D
How are you going to play, in terms of playstyle ? What race you'll probably be ? Do you liked Skyrim, in terms of graphics, size, etc ?
I'll answer mine.
1st - I'm going to play like a Rogue, you know ? Good with both Bow n Arrow and Sword. I'm the guy that don't use magic that much, but of course i'm goign to use the Dragon Shouts !
2nd - Since the game occurs in Skyrim, i'm planning into be a Nord.
3rd - Skyrim is gorgeous ! I loved it !

1: I have always been big on being a really strong Mage in games same goes for Skyrim. Also i try to not fall back on a sword as a secondary defense and be a "pure" not a mage-blade. My second character I will create will be a Rogue/thief that will be good at mainly Bow n Arrow and Sneaking.
2: Race wise i don't know because i dont know what the stat modifiers are going to be.
3: Skyrim looks graphically like a huge step in this type of genre, size looks good but i wish it could be a bit bigger (I love massive areas).

1 - I usually play stealth-based, using mostly detect life and invisibility spells, sniping enemies from far away, resorting to a sword in close combat.
2 - Not sure yet, but I've always wanted to play as an Argonian, they look pretty cool IMO, but we'll have to see how they'll look in Skyrim.
3 - Skyrim looks great, I especially like the look of the dragons.
Nice post guys.
I agree with Pavan about the look of the Dragons, and i also agree with Shinkiro, i LOVE massive maps areas too, huge maps, stuff like that.
*let us continue? *
Well... do you like the Dark Brotherhood ? They will feature in Skyrim, so are you planning to join it ?
My main character, that i'll most play won't join the Dark Brotherhood, he'll be the good man. This one will have Warrior characteristics, he will be social, etc.
My another character will be a murderer so he will join the Dark Brotherhood. This one will have more characteristics of a thief, plus a killer.
Also take a look at this guy. This guy got talent !

Yeah, the DB quest-line was one of my favorites in Oblivion, I'll definitely join it in Skyrim. It also fits right in with my stealthy play style.
But I was going to do it anyway, as I am going to do the same as in Oblivion, create only one character and just complete every quest.
I'll be honest, as amazing as this sounds, it seems like too much of a good thing. Three-hundred hours is absolutely insane. Far Cry 2 was one of the longest games I've ever played and that was fifty hours long. To say that this game is SIX TIMES AS LONG is borderline madness.
I think I could play and elder scrolls game for 300+ hours. I saw some people play Black op for 20+ days! THATS 480 hours!
I will def join the dark brotherhood, in Oblivion it was the my favorite characters first guild haha no matter what my characters ended up being sneaky ninjas with max sneak and Umbra.
What were your characters in Oblivion?
My lvl 40 char had 100% chameleon and 100% damage reflection, so I could walk by monsters or sit there not attacking and still kill them lol.
have thay said anything about you being or not being able to join all the guilds like you could in Oblivion?

It's is definately 300 Hours of GAMEPLAY, not story.
The main story is like 25 - 35 Hours, more or less.
The other 250 Hours are there because of the Dungeons, Side-Quests, the Massive Huge Map to explore, Dragons, etc.
Todd Howard said that Dungeons can be from 15 Minutes to 2 hours long.

I don't know... problably we'll be able to join all the guilds..
Well, with the new philosophy of your playstyle determining who you are, I think it'd be pretty logical for all guilds to be open.
Those Dragons are insane. If I can get my Lenovo Laptop before November and if it's available on Steam, I'll definitely be picking this up (especially considering the story isn't nearly as long as I thought it was).
this is all i know about elderscrolls

Ahaha. A little crude but still rather amusing
That video is incredibly awesome.
9 DAYS LEFT !
This just convinced me to buy it. Now to figure out where the hell I'm gonna get the money for it...
meh.... well i could get it, but id rather get AC revelations first
downloading it right now from steam..
and gonna buy AC:R for PS3. i just got the money for both.
Just played it.. AWESOME !
Because it is an open-world game, it have some minor bugs.. but nothing that can bother you..
I HIGHLY recommend this game.
Bought it for the 360 to tide me over until I get my new PC. I may be playing this for the next whole year unless Revelations turns out to be magical.
I'll hopefully get Skyrim for Christmas. Revelations should arrive today/tomorrow so that (plus revision) will keep me occupied until then!
i just recently got the game.
have only played a little bit so far but that's all gonna change this weekend.
loving it so far
I gave in and put it on my GameflyQ. I'll probably get it next week if I mail my other game tomorrow.
Revelations pending, I don't think I'll ever be playing another game for at least a year. I might as well be a completionist with OCD, and I can't leave anything undone. Because of this it may very well take me until next year to find everything in this game.
Not my favorite game ever, but I'm still having an absolute blast with Skyrim.
Stealth is pretty rewarding in this game. You can do most of the kills by stealth.
im trading in one of my arkham cities for skyrim, its worth it, im sure.
A wise decision.
So Skyrim's availability is low on Gamefly, I didn't get it yet. I played Fallout: New Vegas (same makers of Skyrim) and was bored as hell. I know the concept is the same (quick creation of characters, then you're set out into a vast open world), but will I be as bored out of my mind with Skyrim if I didn't like New Vegas?
I hated New Vegas and love Skyrim. You can't get bored with this game. I think the huge difference with the two is that New Vegas you're wandering around a desert and that can get boring pretty quickly. Skyrim, however, is a crazy awesome and beautiful fantasy world up in the mountains. You won't get bored (if anything you'll be overwhelmed with so much to do).
i agree with FLAE here. skyrim, apparently, has infinite quest. and many of my friends tell me the game is amazing. so why not trade a great game for an amazing game.
If skyrim was an 80's cartoon....

The only downside is that it has some problems on the PS3...
I have only completed around 20 quests and I'm already lvl 32. Most of my time I just spend killing guards and civilians alike in every city, and then reloading an ol save so that I don't have to stay with that bounty... and doing it all over again.
FLAE are you more advanced through the game? I don't know if I'm going too fast for the game's average level to quest ratio. If Skyrim has such thing.
I hit level 30 a few days ago and I've barely done any of the main story quests. I just did the one with the Thalmor Embassy and I've been doing so many side quests it's absurd. I've discovered almost every location in the game at this point and am trying to finish all the College of Winterhold quests (but a glitch is currently preventing me from doing so).
I've heard the main story is relatively short, so you can pretty much complete all the quests at any pace you want. It's a very dynamic game considering almost everything that happens adjusts for the level you're at (except for some dungeons).
Does anyone else have trouble making money in this game? I find it so frustrating that I have all this highly valued equipment and I can only sell it for a fraction of what it's actually worth. Should I go the Bard's College to get speech up or something? It's incredibly frustrating that the best way I have to make money right now is killing giants...
I just grab as much stuff as I can and then sell it to the Thieves Guild barters. since almost everything in my inventory is stolen (I'm lvl 100 in pickpocketing ^^) I really find it easy to make money with them, because they'll give a much better price and if you're wearing the Thives Guild Hood you have 10% better prices. I also crafted a ring and necklace that give me a similar bonus. Speech could be helpful but I'd say is not the only way to get better prices, although the investor perk is actually pretty helpful.
This game,is amazing.
