You can see in the first video Ezio using the gun in the middle of combat. Actually, he uses it twice near the end of the fight sequence.
And we knew the crossbow was confirmed because it's on Ezio's back when he's standing on the top of the Roman Colosseum at the end of the video.
oh my bad lol i was all OMGWTF during the first vid i proably didnt notice XD
"They pledge their allegiance to Ezio and to his cause and they decide to join the Assassin's Creed."
-- Vincent Pontriband, Producer
It's no wonder that so many players don't know the meaning of the word creed when the frickin' producers can't even use it in a sentence.
You know what Assassin's Creed II was missing?
You know what Assassin's Creed II was missing?
Spoiler: Highlight to viewA creed!
Ezio learned a lot from his father and Mario and from the rest of the assassins. Not just physical skills but philosophies as well. I don't think it was missing, per se. It was simply less a list of recited rules and more a general way of living life. It was still there as far as I am concerned.

1. Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent.
As well as losing synch when you kill 3 civilians, the Assassins Creed Wikia also interprets that by only killing the evil and corrupt, it will bring safety and security to the masses. This could also include the bodies of the dead, hence why Ezio and Mario treat the bodies of their victims with respect and say Requiescat in Pace.
2. Always be discreet
The blending in the crowds, the hidden gun etc all accomplish this, a skilled Assassin could shoot their target from a rooftop and then disappear without being found.
3. Never compromise the Brotherhood
Although the Order is more underground, like Asaic said, it could be interpreted that not turning your back on the Brotherhood follows this, ie, walking away from the Order would weaken it, therefore when Ezio was not willing to become an Assassin, he might have been violating this.
Think of the Creed like the Jewish commandments, simple rules, but over the centuries, commentary and elaboration are added on, giving advice for unforeseen circumstances, such as the Talmud, or I guess the Codex in our case, that become as important to the Order as the rules themselves.

I don't see how he can violate Assassin precepts when he isn't officially an Assassin yet. Besides, they're all about free will and if Ezio freely chose not to pursue the life of an Assassin, I don't think the Brotherhood would have constrained him.

Hmm, true, I was probably far off on that one.
The reason why Ezio was pressured into the Assassins was because it was his birthright. He was apart of the lineage (like the name of the movie! ) Mario was shocked each time Ezio denied being apart of the "Creed" because he felt he HAD to continue on. Notice that Ezio was the youngest and almost all of the other Assassins were reaching beyond middle-age. Their biological clocks were ticking!
This video is still gameplay from the assumed intro sequence, but it's more diverse and contains more info (commentary). Ezio uses his gun several times and the player is actually good at the fighting mechanics and only gets hit 2 or 3 times total. Think of this as ALMOST as good as us.
