So let's start this one
First of all i wanted to ask anyone who has this game on PC to try to reproduce glitches that i will list below:
break-out glitch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lLlGvb13hs
play any character in any mission glitch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnCppF3Kaog
free upgrade exploit - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xh5p9aSLWBg
doctor assassination glitch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FTepJvDUA4
I'm routing PC version of this game and i can not reproduce any of these glitches - originally they are found PS4 version of the game.
Anyway as of now glitchless Any% of this game looks like close to 5 hours.

This mission is a Jacob Mission, so we'll never know~You doubt the power of the exploits!?
Never! Nothing is true, everything is permitted, after all. Good luck! xD
Lo and behold.

Hope you have enough time to try it out in that mission and record the results. I remember that Youtuber Findlestick commented a few times on my videos. Great to have another game exploiter trying stuff.
Every damn time hahahaha! Unfortunately, this exploit would not work on the mission we were talking about, because it's the first mission in the entire game. That means you can't walk up to its Mission-Start marker and do the Switch-Glitch because it doesn't have a Mission-Start marker. If there's a way to do it even with selecting the mission from Progress Tracker, that would be cool.
I'm not pretty sure, but let me guess. If you can play this game with 30FPS, maybe those glitches will works for you. Such as setting FPS limit to 30 in game options, or you can setting to half refresh rate in your graphics card driver.
Or you could turn v-sync on.
I think one of the harder things with this speed run may be unlocking sequence 8.
If I remember correctly, you need to fully Liberate 3 districts in order to unlock the sequence.
Clearly, Whitechapel will be the easiest because some of those are story missions.
Then you need to find two other districts that you run near in the first 7 sequences to do all the unlocking as you go. Templar hunts will be easiest, I think, as you just have to kill a guy. Bounty hunts will probably be among the hardest/longest, even if you kill everyone.
Good thing Syndicate lets us replay these side activities so that they can be routed!
Good Luck!
Actually i already routed freeing districts part - i finish 2 needed districts by the end of sequence 5 and for now it takes around 3 hours to finish sequence 5 with 2 districts liberated without any exploits.
Bounty hunts are actually very easy even without found glitches because of the following mechanic - when target spooked it tries to escape the area and it usually runs to one of yours carriages - so i just shoot in the air to spook the target and wait in the place to where it runs - and kidnap him there - where no guards present. The problem is that sometimes AI gets stuck or run to different exit point.
Awesome.
Which districts have you done?
Also, where do the S6/7 missions take place? does it make sense to liberate those districts preferentially? Just wondering about the thought processes that go into it is all.
Are you using viewpoint fast travel? or does save-warping still work in the recent games? (honestly, I haven't kept up with all the speedrunning of Black Flag/Unity - when the fast travel was linked to viewpoints).
i liberated Thames and Lambeth because they have lowest level and Thames has lowest amount of missions you need to complete - 6 missions in Thames and 9 in Lambeth plus 2 gang wars and 2 ambushes. Maybe it is faster to liberate Southwark then Thames or Lambeth but for now the route is this. The main idea was to do side missions near the main missions - and most of main missions in first 5 sequences are around Thames, in Lambeth, in Southwark and in City of London.
I use only viewpoints fast-travel plus you can do side activities during main missions so checkpoint of main mission is used as warp. Save-warping works like in Unity - you can do save-warping only by loading replay because quiting out from the game does not save the game or does not save your position in the game like in previous games except Unity - and loading reload is long - so i think it's not worth for single-segment run - for segmented run of course it can be usefull - but i do single-segment for now.
Awesome.
I was wondering if Thames would be a good district due to fewer missions, then I thought it might be too spread out.
Surprised Whitechapel wasn't worth it as I thought they were tutorial type things in Whitechapel as part of the main quest.
you need 3 districts - without conquering Whitechapel you can not finish sequence 3 - so you always conquer Whitechapel if you want to finish the game
Ah. That's what I thought. Just a bit confused is all.
