What are your thoughts with the Desmond memories...?
After finishing 'em yesterday I liked 'em, once you catch the mechanics of the controls with the blocks and all I found it entertaining to figure out a way to pass through an area... xD
I also like how some of 'em connected with the memory that Desmond is sharing with it, via it's design like the River...
Also this:
they were completely pointless. it wasn't even symbolic of somehow going through his past. it was just stupid. more to the point it wasn't even fun. the tower defence was misjudged but it was still relatively connected to the game as a whole. fps platforming block laying bullshit is in no way connected to anything. it was a lazy design choice enabling them to give us lots of exposition in a way that could be vaguely called a game.
Do you agree with this? Too me it just sounds like someone ranting for not being able to deal with 'em...
But I could be wrong, what's your thoughts over this...?
(Do share it all, sharing is fun~ xD)
I liked them a lot. Summary of my thoughts I've stated several times before: Intuitive, mesmerizing, story-driven, slower-pace, and creative.
Like you said, you have to get used to it after the first or second sequences, but they're still fun to go through. Whoever posted that rant most likely couldn't get past a certain sequence and got too frustrated. It has meaning to the game, but only for those seeking the story aspect. This person doesn't seem to care about that. So sad.
I liked em, the puzzles were just mind bendy enough with out being too frustrating. They also filled in a lot of Desmond's backstory and you learn why he ran away from the farm. Kinda wish there was an extra bonus level if you collect all the fragments but the achievement is good enough reward.
Anyone notice how there are 2 more arches on Animus Island which are the same size as the others? Maybe there will be some DLC which will have to be accessed from there. Perhaps they will lead to memories of Ezio's son/daughter or maybe hint at the ancestor of the next game.

In Embers, he has a daughter, so that would be a really nice add-on to see how she returns to the Order her father quit before raising his family. They are having DLC for ACR next month, so we'll see if the arches have anything to do with it.
Desmond's Journey was one of the best parts in the game IMO . They reminded me of Portal, which I like. Also amazed to hear Daft Punk - End of Line Remix at Part 4. Remix
It's indeed interesting to hear of Desmond's Past. I'd love to see a moment where you can play as Desmond escaping the compound, travel to New York... his past life.
I notice there is two broken gates on animus island. My theory is theres gonna be a DLC coming... EDIT: You guys already notice it ^^^
I really loved the Desmond sections. I think I have a strange disease that makes me absolutely love everything about every Assassin's Creed game. This disease has an alternate strain that also makes me replay every game that's out several weeks before the new ones come out. It's quite intense.
I havent finished them all, but I actually found them really fresh. You can be creative in passing the level anyway you want, its something new. Who really cares if its related to the story or not, its a fucking video game.
