I was wondering which of the cities you guys liked best and decided to narrow it down to the separate district. The question isn't which assassination you liked best or which target, but how you liked the district that the assassination took place in. The atmosphere, the buildings. Because it's easy to forget which district was poor or middle or rich, I added the most important sights in each district.
At first I thought this was going to be easy: Acre Rich.
But the more I think about it, the more I'm unsure. I think I like Acre the best as a city because the districts are so vastly different from eachother... but Jerusalem isn't far behind.
I think I'm going to cast my vote for Jerusalem Poor... because I like the "work in progress" aspect of all the scaffolding to use for navigation.
Great question! I reviewed the maps and chose the district where I felt most comfortable and at home. It turned out to be Damascus Rich. The streets are wide and it's easy to find your way around because of all the landmarks: Barada river, souk, palace and Umayyad Mosque.
In general I prefer the ambiance of Acre because it looks cold and damp. Jerusalem and Damascus feel more like desert cities.
Damascus Rich for me as well. I just like the architecture and the layout. I like how the river splits the district in two.
I knew it was going to be Damascus, merely because of the color and perception of heat. Too bad the other cities have awful color filters, on PC at least. The rich district just has so many amazing buildings crammed in it.
For me it's definitely the Acre rich district which has the Montferrat assassination, Acre is already my favorite AC1 city and this district pops into my head everytime I think of Acre.
I immediately knew it was going to be Damascus, because it and Acre are really the two cities I associate with AC1.
I know Jerusalem is probably more important considering all the stuff that happens there - but Damascus is the first city we ever really go to. It's orange/brown/caramel, sandy, warm, there's lots of alleys and places to go, lots of rooftops to navigate around.
As for why it was Rich, it was a toss-up between Rich and Poor. I was going to choose Damascus Poor at first because that's the one I know best (you'd think I'd get sick of it after that many playthroughs, and it being the first place we go, but no) - but Damascus Rich just has an interesting quality to it that I really like. It feels a bit more threatening, like you have to be even more stealthy than normal, it comes at a later point in the game so guards are more likely to catch you or be suspicious of you. Stuff like that.
