• Single country vacation this time. I leave tomorrow Dec-22. I return Dec-30.
• Clues will be a mix of Assassin's Creed and Real Life (scary, I know).
• I don't know how many clues there will be, but there will be about 1 per day (so about 7 or so).
• Clues not tied to a single answer, but will narrow down all the answers for you.
• First person to correctly identify any of the below gets 3 points. Any other correct answer at any point gets 2 points.
• You can change answers to any question at any time.
• If you had the correct answer and change to the incorrect answer, you get 0 points. Only your most recent answer counts.
• Send all answers to me in a private message. Timestamp will be used to assign the points.
• Final score tiebreaker will be most correct answers. (so someone with straight 2s can beat someone with two 3s and a missing answer). If there is still a tie, the winner will be the first person to correctly answer question 4.
• EVERYONE who plays will get a [-]cheap[/-] souvenir from my vacation. The winner will get something more.
Your challenge is to give the correct answer to each of the following questions:
1. Which Assassin's Creed game visited this location?
(If multiple games like Rome, Italy, any single correct answer will be accepted)
2. On which continent is this location located? Middle East, Europe, or Americas?
(for the purposes of this game, Egypt and Turkey will count as part of the Middle East)
3. Which (modern) country is this location in?
4. What is the CURRENT name of the city I am in?
5. What was the name of the closest location in the AC universe?
6. Is there an important AC universe item/location hidden here? If so, what?
(note, the answer can simply be "no" ... but the answer cannot simply be "yes" and get credit)
To make it easy for me, any time you have an answer, use these identifiers (answers given as an example):
Game: Assassin's Creed III
Continent: Americas
Country: Brazil
Current Location: Sao Paulo
Game Location: Sao Paulo (they can be the same, and no one said it was a historical part of AC)
Hidden Secret: power source for Grand Temple
Good to see stabby already guessing to try to get the lucky pre-trip 18 points.
That would be a real coup to guess all six answers with no clues. Come on, people! Let's play Where in the World is Double McStab with Cheese.
Even if stabby did guess all 6 correct answers, EVERYONE GETS A PRIZE THIS YEAR.
Clue 1 (may as well start early)
This location is a new location to me. I have never been there before. But I have been close (within 1000 km).
This one goes out to all the faithful WITWIDMSWC players out there from previous years and people who patrol the forums faithfully (and have a great memory for all my comments).

Sorry, who are you?
Now that I am in the location proper, I'll add my first Assassin's Creed based clue.
Clue 2. The game in which this location was featured prominently contained one of the best Animus Databases in the series.
(featured prominently is meant to mean an open world sequence and not a ship/fleet/Mediterranean defense mission)
Someone should try to beat Stabguy this year. PRIZE GUARANTEED EVEN IF YOU LOSE!!

I had a faint memory of a place you mentioned visiting, so I looked back at your old topic. Still took a wild guess.
But looking back at the page, I found out you live in San Diego. Turns out I visited there earlier this year to watch a family member graduate from the Marines (semper fidelis).
I've visited lots of places... both coasts of the USA, Toronto, Cancun, Dallas, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Morocco, Greece, Santorini, Hawaii, Fiji....
Now that you know the game came with an animus database....
Clue 3. The game in which this location featured prominently was one of the Kenway Saga.
(Meaning there was a Kenway as a playable character OR just an NPC)
I expect all those Italian guesses to change after this one.
Clue 4. The game in which this location featured prominently did NOT feature (a living) Desmond Miles.
By my count, I think this should give you all a 50/50 shot to get the right game now...
Clue 5. For many people, the game in which this location was featured most prominently is the high point for the series. For me, it's when AC jumped the shark, so to speak.
Havana, Cheese? ;]
If you'd like to wager a guess, DAZ, feel free to send one to my inbox.
Today a bit of clarification. What do I mean by...
Current Location: What would you use to look up/search for the hotel/resort I'm at? For example, you wouldn't just use "England" if your guess was really "London." Similarly, you could probably get away with "Barbados" since it's so small and there's only one airport. (hint: I'm looking for a city name, so more akin to the London example above).
Game Location: On the Assassin's Creed map of this region of the world, what is the name of the closest location? (hint: it IS an Animus location, so IS on a map)
Havana, Cheese? ;]
I do love me some puns, afterall. Even multi-lingual ones! Too bad so much of the back story of characters like El Tiburon was (supposedly) cut from Black Flag...
Shit. I forgot to put up Clue 6. I must have been too busy feeling the rhythm and feeling the rhyme. Having too much fun getting on up for bobsled time.
Clue 7. From the Sacarens v Crusaders to the Battle of Breed's Hill to the Battle of Viana, there has been plenty of bloodshed in the series. But this is the bloodiest sight I can think of.
Game Over
Got a few people to send things to.
Stabguy ran away with this one again. 15/18 possible points. Address still the same?
Aurel guessed early, but not often. Don't think he got any points.
I'll be fun and send Joey and DAZ something to, since they at least added some things to this thread.
Had DAZ sent in his Havana guess to my inbox, it would have been good for 4 points at least.
Send Addresses to my inbox please.
ANSWERS:
Game: Assassin's Creed: Black Flag
Continent: Americas
Country: Jamiaica
Current Location: Montego Bay
Game Location: Long Bay (the only one Stabguy didn't come up with)
Hidden Secret: The Observatory
Stabguy guessed Montego Bay after the 3rd clue (Kenway Saga Clue). My favorite guess was Stabguy's first guess of AC:Revelations (before I left on my trip). As a game that used a lot of locations in Europe and the Middle East, he tried to wrap up those 3 points immediately!
The Clues were designed to narrow the game down first....
Has a Database: rules out the earliest game (I think) and the latest one.
Kenway Saga: ACIII, BF, Rogue all had Kenways
Not Desmond: BF, Rogue
Jumped the Shark: well, here --> Black Flag
Bobsled Rhyme from Cool Runnings: Jamaica
Bloody Sight (not a typo): The Observatory
Stabby will be getting his very own Jamaican Jerk Spice and Jerk Sauce!
Here's a video of the bobsledding adventure... https://www.facebook.com/tylerbaguley/videos/10103669295629056
Man, I suck.
Clue 5. For many people, the game in which this location was featured most prominently is the high point for the series. For me, it's when AC jumped the shark, so to speak.
For some reason I read it as: "The place I'm at is where AC jumped the shark in the game." Reading it again, I now realize it's just referring to the game, not the location. That is why I couldn't decide between Black Flag and Rogue.
Game Location: Long Bay (the only one Stabguy didn't come up with)
Yeah, I guessed Kingston because I thought it was closer to Montego Bay than Long Bay is. It turns out I was relying on a modern map of Jamaica where Long Bay is on the eastern tip of the island. On Black Flag's map Long Bay is indeed in the vicinity of modern day Montego Bay. That's why I was apprehensive about guessing The Observatory - because it was in Long Bay, not Kingston.
Stabby will be getting his very own Jamaican Jerk Spice and Jerk Sauce!
Awesome! I love jerk chicken.
I was way off even with the guesses I kept to myself. Granted, I could only skim through due to a busy holiday I've been on.
I don't check up on the site in a week or so and I happen to miss the entirety of "Where in the world..."
Hope you enjoyed your vacation, Cheese!
Well shoot. I was cleaning my spare room today when I found Stabby's Jerk Chicken marinade and spice. It's now been packaged with a few extras to apologize for the delay.
If you played and want a key chain or magnet, let me know. I forgot who else I owed participation prizes to...
Damnit! It's still on my table.
Took it to the post office today. I even paid the extra 18 cents to upgrade to 3 day flight rather than the (up to) 30 day boat trip.
Thanks for showing us Stabguy's zip code.

Postal clerk: "It can either be there in 3 days or 8 weeks."
Customer: "What's the price difference?"
Postal clerk: "A nickel."

Maybe I should have saved that nickel...
Anything yet, Stabby?
Anything yet, Stabby?
Oh, yes! It was a prize package with a wide assortment of goodies. I was going to take a picture but now everything is spread out around the house. Let's see... there's jerk sauce in a funny bottle that looks like a Rastafarian, jerk spices, a Jamaican flag magnet, a souvenir key ring and an Assassin's logo ring that actually fits. However, my favorite thing was a paperback book called Assassin's Creed Origins: Desert Oath by Oliver Bowden. Thank you, Cheese!

Aurel made some guesses. Joey and DAZ contributed to this thread.
