I guess no one created this topic yet.
So..since the forums are so "quiet" these days, i created this topic.
What's your prefered weapon?
Mine is:
For assassinations - Of course the Double Hidden Blade.
For cobmat - I can't choose between the Knife and the Double Hidden Blade.
Assassinsnations : hidden blade for close contact , crossbow/gun for distant kill
combat :
regular gaurds : hidden blade
brutes : smoke bomb, sword of altair
papal : arrow storm
Assassination: 1 hidden blade only
Combat (brutes, seekers, etc): Fists
Combat (archers/gunmen/normal guards): Sword
Hmmm...lets see. I'm playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood at the moment, so...
If it's a simple assassination on one guard, then I would prefer the bare hands or a dagger. The brutal kill animations are such visually amazing and gory to watch at. If they're two guards, then I'll employ the hidden blades on them. If they're a group guards, then I like to play confusion tactics on them and scare them from a distance, such as dropping dead bodies near them or lugging a spear/sword/ax towards them.
For actual combat, it's either going to be a dagger or a spear. The dagger can inflict more casualties due to the knives equipped with you instead of the 6-10 measly bullets (that doesn't make sense. Ezio can hold about a 20 or so knives and crossbow bolts, yet he can only hold about 6-10 bullets?). Chaining kill streaks has always been a past time for me. The spear is also fun to use because you rarely get to use one.
However, I actually hate confrontation in general. I don't even want to assassinate guards, as it takes time away from me. You see, I like to parkour around rooftop to rooftop without guards interrupting me all the time. Half the time, I take them out with a crossbow/gun/poison dart. Rarely would I ever call on my apprentice. Half the time I forget that I even have them by my side!
Assassination: 1 hidden blade only
I prefer 1 hidden blade only than 2 hidden blades, but since i can't assassinate one guard if he is near to another (i'll automatically "double assassinate") i like the double hidden blades.
EDIT: Maybe i'll start a new game, playing in hardcore mode, in other words: No SSI, No double hidden blade, No metal cestus, No crossbow. Just hidden blade, Poison, Hidden gun, Smoke bomb and throwing knives (Maybe a dagger too).
That's what I've been doing since I got 100% sync. It makes it really challenging. At least slightly, since it's just a story-driven game.
For assassinations my specialty would have to be large weapons due to the kill animations. By assassinations I mean kills on main targets, when it comes to normal guards I use the hidden blade.
hidden blade, and hidden blade. but i still like other weapons.
The sword. Call me old fashioned but...
Short blade and throwing knives all the way...
I prefer the double hidden blades for the most part. But when I'm bored with the game I'll pick one weapon and only use it. I really like the addition of the crossbow in AC:B. It's a great stealthy weapon to use when roaming the rooftops. It's always funny to take out one guard in a group and see the others just walking around confused. I'm also a big fan of the daggar of Brutus. In AC2 I loved the sword of Altair, but not so much in AC:B. The heavy weapons are fun in AC:B because you can throw them and they have good kill animations. Fists are always a nice change of pace too. I avoid maces and swords, and rarely use an ax. I won't use the poison dagger or darts unless absolutely necessary for a mission.
ACII - Florentine Falchion and have the dagger thrown away by a brute.
ACB - Press T to win. No dagger here either, I wanna look like my fellow assassins which also means Sword of Altaïr (or occasionally a Scimitar).
Scimitar or throwing knives, except for assassinations..
Assassins-1 hidden blade
Combat-dagger/1 hidden blade
All assassinations are the same with 1 or two hidden blades, except for double ones.
It's harder with 1 hidden blade against a fortress. More strategy is involved. That's why I prefer 1.
Assuming the fortress is covered with guards patrolling in twos, side by side.
But I get you.
Yeah, that's how most of the mission structure is laid out in pretty much every assassination mission in AC2. So...it's tougher. Lol
This is true. Those two guards serve the purpose of one, but they just wanted to keep showing off their fancy game mechanics, lol.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
The dagger is the pinnacle of combat mayhem. They are many reasons for this:
- Reverse grip looks more menacing and dangerous. This was popularized in many horror and slasher films.
- The Dagger of Brutus' animation replaced with bone-crushing animations with vicious stabs that strike fear into other guards, causing to flee at a much lower body count.
- It is equipped with the most ammunition (25 daggers), so in the VR Training Rooms, it can deal the most damage.
- It's killing animations are short and to the point, so it saves several milliseconds.
The dagger is awesome. 'Nuff said.
My stats say hidden blade but I like the chucking the spear into guards back.
The most practical though would probably be the dagger combined with throwing knives.
I mostly use the hidden blades and the crossbow.
I long for the ability to sheathe a spear. I would never use any other weapon ever again. It would be so awesome.
But since we can't, I enjoy using hand to hand combat the most, then the short blade, then the hidden blades.
Dagger and Throwing knives, AC, AC:II, AC:B.
