While playing AC II, I came in contact with this BIZARRE bug. Did someone came across this?
I was in Forli, opening the view points on the map, as normal. Then I entered in a fight with a group of guards. After escaping, I did go to the north gate of Forli, where I saw 4 guards in strange positions, not moving. I came near them and they didn't shove me off like they do, they did nothing.
Then I used a Hidden Blade in one of them and.... nobody cared, the guard get up, like nothing happened. I decided to record this while I test stuff on them. If someone wants, I can upload on youtube. I tested several weapons on them, and the Kill animations can be repeated in sequence, sometimes, even too fast, it's funny to watch.
I don't know how I triggered this weird bug, so saddly, I cannot say how to do the same... My theory is that those guards are part of the patrol, and they didn't had time to load correctly, because after I done with this video and resume my business, they started to move again.
Once again, I can upload the video if someone are curious. I dunno if this is a common bug, first time this happened to me in all those years.
That happened to me in sequence 1, with the first doctor you encounter. You can "kill" him with the sword but he stands again.

When you meet a doctor for the first time in AC2 you don't have any weapons yet. Are you perhaps mistaken with AC Brotherhood, and the doctor who calls Ezio old?
Well, just to be clear, I am uploading the video now.
I find funny that a citizen in the end say "Dio mio, how bizarre", was the cue for me to stop recording, I though would be cool to end with that.
There is a particular doctor in Florence who is always invincible (as far as I know). If you kill him with a weapon, he just stands up again. I've tried dragging him to the river to toss him in but it took too friggin' long and I lost interest.
I've also (twice now) found guards in Venice who fall into the water and just stay there, treading water like they're on a picnic. There's a still photo of it somewhere on this site. This one is not reproducible though, unlike the Florence doctor.

Here guys, the video, sorry to make everybody wait. It's drags a bit too long I think, but I tested everything I could on them.
The funniest part for me is the Sword testing XP.

If is not a bother, you know how to recreate the Doctor bug, Ms.Lisa?

The particular doctor is the one in Florence Ezio and his brother meet (the one who heals the cut on Ezio's lip). He should be somewhere in the district where you first play as Ezio. According to the minimap in the video it's right by a weapon shop.
That happened to me in Brotherhood and Revelations. I think I mentioned my Brotherhood incident when it happened, but had no proof. I gotta say, it was kind of fun using them as practice for different assassination styles.

Thanks! I tested and it works. Too bad I tried to replicate mine and don't worked.
Yeah, looks like the same kind of bug. They don't fight back or call for help. You cannot grab them either.
I think is linked with Lisa bug as well. The one with Swiming Guards.
Well, thanks all for answering my doubt.
I think there are 2 doctors, then. The doctor I was playing with was not the same as the one who does the initial healing on Ezio at the very beginning. If memory serves, that is.
I may fire up the game in the next day or two and test this. Stay tuned for the riveting conclusion.

This quote and smiley combination is pretty awesome and sums up this forum nicely.
We are interested in finding out the most banal things in the games... and we follow through with evidence.

Eh, true.
If we find two doctors, maybe I will try to kill other doctors and see who else got the bug.
If I find one near water, maybe I will try to drop one on it, pushing him using Hidden Blade kills.

I think it's a bit different since even invincible characters drown in water, although they fall through it a lot faster than normal characters.
My theory on that: NPCs are programmed to die in water by default. However it seems sometimes a glitch occurs where the secondary animation, treading water happens instead. The reason it happens like that is because it's copied from Ezio's animation of treading water. Some things are copied from character to NPC or vice versa in AC games. For example climbing animations for guards, the robes on some assassins in AC1 (especially on Malik at the beginning, he even had the short blade), NPCs survive falls into a haystack from any height, etc.
