Right so it looks like I might be able to start getting money from some videos, like Joey. This might inspire me not to sell my PS3, however I cannot afford ACR ( I ate all the food) so I guess il still be uploading AC vids. I might even just sell my PS3 and upload GTA and MGS vids, as I still have some fans from those games and I can get money later when I finally get a PS3 again.

Anyway a small problem,

"Does your video contain the following content? (Select all that apply)

Graphics and pictures (including photographs and artwork)
Movie or TV visuals
Video game or software visuals

So yeah, video game is there. However,

"Please describe your content below. If you answered "Yes" to any of the above, please be sure to include details about your ownership of the necessary rights or explicit permission to commercially use all video material. You must possess all the necessary distribution rights in all content (including music) in the video. (1000 character limit)* (Required)"

Should I just not tick the video option? Sounds like they check them anyway, what should I write after the above message to explain what im doing?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which

They can't check over everybody's videos immediately. It takes time. Your stuff is in the queue to be checked over. They'll catch up with you.

I have a buddy who's been in the partner program for a couple years and he earns about $500/month from it, but it has nothing to do with video games. He's going to get me a list of specific rules for what is and isn't allowable, but it sounds like you can do video game footage in clip montage form and with a voice-over. If there's any original audio from the game, it has to be very quiet in the background and the voice-over has to be the main focus of the audio. Think along the lines of IGN's video reviews, or a gameplay trailer with a narrative over it.

To the best of my knowledge, straight game footage (like all of the videos on my channel) are not acceptable and all breach their convoluted copyright rules.

Well since im recording on my laptop that cant record sound, I guess that wont be a problem.

Anyway so most of my videos that have ads, if they catch up will they remove them completely if they decide they breach the rules? Might not be worth risking it. At least some of my latest ACB/R videos have commentary with the music turned down in the background so those might be ok. Maybe I could start doing commentary on single player videos as well, but those dont usually work so well. We will see.

I imagine that they're not going to waste their time going through lengthy and complicated legal processes. Instead, they'd probably just disable or take down any infringing videos if you don't respond to their request to remove them. They always give you the chance to correct your error before they take action.

My friend who's been a partner for a while does Gundam model reviews. On a few videos he had 10-second clips of the related anime series' opening and they were flagged. He was warned to delete them (and keep in mind these series were copyrighted in Japan and never aired outside of the country, even though his YouTube account is not based in Japan). He still had all the raw footage on his computer, so he redid the videos without the anime segments and re-uploaded them. The views, likes and comments were reset though, since it was technically a new upload.
