An interesting article I found on GT today....

This only affects people who are going to rent/used/borrowed games similar to what EA is doing with their games. Basically you need a passport from Uplay that gives you online content i.e. online play...
Let me know what your thoughts are. To me I'm not angry, but really unsure if indeed this will help Ubisoft or give it a bad name.
is this only for AssassinsCreed revelations or all four?.
This will help, since even people who downloaded the game will have to pay something. Ubisoft sees no money from used game sales, so if this brings down the amount of those, no problem for them.
Alexandre said that he didn't know about this at all, meaning it may or may not be in Revelations. Probably not.
i hardly ever buy used so i shouldn't complain really.
but i don't really like the idea of online passports, simply because they are punishing the players for something the sellers are doing.
there has to be a better way.
That's so cheap. This just proves everyone only cares about money anymore. Knowing that some fans can't buy it at release means that we want to cheat them, obviously.
They're losing money no matter if we want them to or not. And Ubi discounts their new games very quickly after release. So you'll be able to buy it pretty cheap even without getting a rental.
These guys create the games because they love (I'm assuming) the abilities they have and that, as grown men, they get to make games. But when it comes down to it, the companies exist to make money. They're not operating as non-profit organizations. These guys want to make as much money as possible, while still putting out a good product (although they'll sacrifice quality to put out more games).
