This short video answers the question "What would happen if you countered a brute weapon with the papal staff?". As you see it doesn't break (duh, because it's made of metal, or because the devs were too lazy to model it into two separate weapons like with the spear and halberd). I didn't show the complete setup, so here are the basics:
Disarm Rodrigo with the heavy weapon special attack. For those of you who don't know there are two ways of obtaining a heavy weapon.

Another thing to remember is that you need the guards outside the room to be there (they won't be if you start from the last checkpoint before killing Rodrigo). After disarming Rodrigo place the papal staff and brute weapon on the side of the room near the entrance. You can't be too far away from the target without failing the mission so bring Rodrigo there (I did with taunting). Climb out of the room and engage in combat with the guards. Lead them to the room. Once you're in the room they can't follow you in there so drag one of them there. Disarm him so that he will pick up the heavy weapon and pick up the papal staff. Now counter with the staff and watch as Ezio stabs the guard through with the supposedly broken weapon.
Wow. Thank you for posting up this video. You have just answered one of most important questions ever: can you break the Papal Staff with a counter?
Wait a minute...what happens if you pick up the guard, and then pick up the staff?
The staff is still the same when you pick it back up. I suspected it couldn't be broken when I tried a heavy attack on Rodrigo. Apologies that this video was so short, I was busy recording... other stuff.

Would these be those videos where you show the 12 ways to wield YOUR "hidden blade"?
Sorry, the winky face forced me...
You'll see soon enough.
You guys hear about aurel's newest find? Now he's in the game.
Were you talking about that particular find or something else?

I assumed it was a joke, lol
Yes, it was a joke referring to you actually finding an exploit where you pull a Tron and play the game with your own body and everything.
Oh. A joke. I thought he meant... Nevermind. There's no way he could have known. And if he did know there's no way he could prove it, unless he knew where it was discussed.
I'm so confused; too much sublimination...
COME BACK, WE'RE TOO DEEP
