I don't know about anyone else, but I intend to represent this site during the multiplayer and, like an athlete representing his country at the olympics, I want to be the best I can be, so in the run-up until ACB is released, I am training myself.
Firstly, my free running skills need a bit of work, I frequently miss-aim jumps or fail to grab a ledge etc, so I have been doing the races and essentially try to hone my reflexes, hopefully when it comes to being pursued by another player, mistimed jumps won't screw me over.
Secondly, I'm aiming to become more skilled in fights, using a lot more strafing than I usually would do and again trying to hone down the timings on combo moves and hidden blade counters etc.
Finally, I am trying to learn to blend much more and walk slower than I usually would, so that it will be harder for other players to distinguish me from NPCs.
I don't know whether any of this will actually help me at all, but it at least passes the time until AC:B is released, and it would probably be a good idea for all of us to get in some "training", before the multiplayer.
Nice plan. Maybe we THB-ers could form our own clan or something! Now that would be awesome
We'd be known as the best AC players ever, due to the patented rigorous joecool training program, lol.
(plus we'd have stabguy and Ian, so that might help )
I think that we need to learn not to hold down RT/R1 so much. We should be patient with each hunt. We're the alphamales (no offense to any female assassins...)

This i think is the best advice if you wanna be a pro at AC Multiplayer. Since the first thing that gives you away is multiplayer then you have to be more patient and wait for the right moment to strike. If you do this then neither your target or your pursuer will see you.
Thing is I dont really get the idea of walking around slowly and blending. I watched some multiplayer vids and you see the hunter tracking him down via radar. And when we finally see his prey, the guy is walking around trying to act like an AI. The hunter just runs up to him and takes him down easy peasy. Is there something that suppresses the radar or something?
Anyway my experience with multiplayer games is that at the start, everyone will try and play like the devs wanted us too. People will act stealthy and try blend in with the crowd etc. I think as time goes on though, everyone will be always sprinting, new styles will be developed and it will be all about who is the best at combat
This is coming from someone who plays Metal Gear Online, a series that prides itself on stealth yet the online variant is so much different. However of course this is just the wanted mode im talking about.
Anyway will this be region locked? I have a good felling most of you will be on the NA servers, im from NZ so I guess il have to represent this on the EU servers. I would get the NA version like I did with AC2, but I cant get DLC as easily ( bought the EU DLC and it didnt work...)

Then it depends on the game mode and your hunter's skill. If you have to play a separate game mode, then you play it differently. If the hunter doesn't lock on to the proper target or attacks the look-a-like next to you, then they aren't skilled enough. I've seen that mistake made several times in a few multiplayer videos.

I'm pretty sure there is NO open combat in the multiplayer. The game is all about tracking down your target and getting the drop on them. If your spotted then the only option really is to run, it's not like you can turn around and try to fight em off.
Atleast that's why i gathered from watching the demo.
It would be cool if there was some PvP fighting system just for the multiplayer. Maybe that's one of the other game modes? Most likely not, but I think it would be pretty cool to see who the best Assassins are in each level of combat (stealth, strength, cunning, etc).
The little I've seen of the multiplayer is very broken. Even from a concept standpoint it needs a lot of work. That said, that was from months ago and was just one mode. Hopefully it will get better and not turn into an embarrassing stain on the otherwise noble Assassin's Creed flag.
I have my PS3 beta key all ready to go. I'm worried about how the game will play on PS3, as the performance for AC 1 and 2 was pretty poor compared to 360 and PC. But it's the only place for the beta, so I'm in. For better or for worse.
When does the beta start?
In the US, Sept. 13, and in EU, Oct. 4
There were some rumors flying around that the US version has been delayed to October 4 as well, though, but nothing has been confirmed. You'll just have to wait and see, my friend.
Edit: Gamestop says that it's been delayed to October 4 in the US as well...
