In my second playthrough I started to pay closer attention to the timeline. Memory sequence 14 takes place in 1499, but if you remember the words of Machiavelli in "X marks the spot", he says that there are lands yet to be discovered. Now I instantly thought that this was rather conflictive because Cristopher Columbus "discovered" America in October of 1492 and then arriving in March of 1493.
Edit: I guess I was wrong because he could also be referring to Australia. Also, the europeans didn't came to realize that America was another continent until 1502.
Doesn't the DS game assassins creed 2: Discovery deal with the "new world"? I don't know if it's out yet though.
Yeah james I thought that at first too, but then I remembered that they still thought Hispaniola was India back then.
News traveled extremely slowly slowly back then.
It's not like Columbus immediately logged onto twitter and was like "zomg found America!!!one!"
HAHAHAHAHA
