Sorry for that dodgy spelling.
Hello to all,
Whilst redoing some investigations in Memory Block 4 (I think from my memory that's when Abul is in) I noticed that in one of the investigations it told me that a huge golden tower can be scaled in order to reach Abul. I have tried to climb it but as I anticipated I was seen by him and he ran for it.
This is probably the most high profile strategy for assassinating Abul, and puts you in huge danger of surrounding archers and Abul's 2 personal body guards. So why is it suggested as an assassination strategy in the first place?
I would like to praise Ianfoxur's attempt which was just incredible, that gentleman is certainly a huge help to me and all assassins creed players. His route is short and swift, and really well executed.
I appreciate your feedback
Many thanks.
For years I told other players to ignore the advice to climb the fountain as it leads to immediate detection and a chase. Then in 2010 I finally saw a video where someone pulled it off - a stealth assassination that began with the fountain. It sounds as if you realize that it's possible but unlikely. I might be able to find the video if you're interested.
Anyway, yeah, I agree that's the worst piece of intelligence to be found in the game. It's worse than useless in that it actually steers you in the wrong direction. I guess if you kept failing the mission because you couldn't find any way up to the second floor (there are many places to climb but few that present themselves), the fountain would be a route of last resort.

The worst advice you get is to use some scholars that aren't even there.
Stealth on the fountain seems to be very nearly impossible, I've never succeeded. Could you link us to the vid, stab?
I experimented with an open conflict high-profile blitz from the fountain once, but I didn't have much luck. He always got away.
Yes, I would really love it if you could find that video please. I would be amazed if anyone could stealth assassinate Abul in this way certainly a good challenge.
You have all been very helpful, thanks once again guys
On second thought, I don't think he managed to pull off a stealth assassination. I was just surprised at how long he remained Anonymous after climbing the fountain. It isn't the same video but this one also shows that you have at least 5 seconds of anonymity after scaling the statue.
It would be a good challenge to design a stealth assassination from the fountain. Perhaps you could climb up there and buy some more time by taking out the archers with Throwing Knives in a particular order. Then do the same with the bodyguards before approaching the stage while Abu'l's back is turned. Something like that.
thx lbtc for the mention. i hope you are refering to "the blitz" version of getting to abul, which takes about 15 seconds.
when i first played ac, i recall feeling like it was really hard to climb out of that pit. (abul nuqoud was actually the first assassination mission i played - i didnt start from the beginning of the game.) as bad as the advice is for climbing the statue, i suppose it is technically correct in that it lets you get out.
Your welcome. Correct, I am refering to the blitz verisan as that impressed me the most I agree with you in that it aids an escape plan. I think the statue should have been placed a bit further back, then you could run on either side of the beams, leap on to any on of the flag poles and attempt an assassination from there.
The location that Abul is in, by that I mean up on a tall platform with a very large amout of space around him, makes it difficult to judge the right path because I had so much ground to cover before making the kill. I am quite sure it's possible to elminate the two bodyguards before making the main kill, and definatly the best way for me was to drop from the beam>roll>assassinate.
I am quite sure it's possible to eliminate the two bodyguards before making the main kill.
It is. It's one of IanXO4's expert gameplay accomplishments.

Many thanks for the link, it was wounderful
Yeah, I enjoy watching that video from time to time (and there's nothing wrong with the song it plays!). I hope Ian makes a sequel video.
The archers and bodyguards in this level are dodgy, depending on what wall i climb some archers dissapear. Maybe there is a way to make some of them dissapear so you can climb the fountain. That, or you could find a way to use throwing knives on a few of them and then climb it

Thx Aurel (and I'm glad you like the song)! Believe it or not, I made "The Bleeding Effect" as a retirement video. It was my 54th Youtube video. I honestly didn't think I was going to make any more AC videos after that, at least not any significant ones. Obviously, I was way off. I'm currently at 143 Youtube videos on the AC series. (Actually 144 videos... I have one hidden.)
I might make another compilation... AC3 is a long ways off, so making another AMV may give me something to do while I wait. What works against me is that I have a lot less free time at hand than I used to have. We'll see...
143 videos is very impressive, I may upload some AC videos of my own sometime. Maybe just some huge fights in the kingdom and also my combat training regime outside William's castle. I could do something like this; 10 minutes of Altiar with each weapon (although I am by no means an expert) each divided into 3 videos respectively
