So this game is amazing.
If any of you are die-hard stealth-lovers that hated Splinter Cell: Conviction for focusing too much on action and explosions, you'll love this one.
Not only is this more stealth-oriented than most games these days, but it gives you the choice to do so or not. You can still go in, take out everyone with grenades and assault rifles, or you can sneak by without touching a single guard.
I mostly played the sneakier way, hardly interacting with any guards. My preferred way of going through the levels was "Ghost" (not causing guards to be alerted, only knockouts, non-lethal). This game gives so much choice to the player on how to go through every mission. Most of my replays showed guards taking slightly different paths and actions when I'd restart because of a failure.
And then I learned today that the Ubi studio that worked on Blacklist is working on a future Assassin's Creed title after Black Flag (most likely one for 2015, I'm guessing). I'm know we'd get an amazing historical time period to play in from them. Here's hoping they can pull off a modern day section using similar Splinter Cell mechanics.
EDIT: And the co-op is great. Xplic3t and I played together last week, and we consider ourselves as "exceptional stealth players" (we played Tenchu Z a lot when we were younger). We played SC:BL together on Normal difficulty and could only acccomplish 2 levels in about 2 hours' time.

That's actually insulting, haha.

Hopefully you took it in jest, as it was meant to be taken. I only made the comment because of your previous comments on similar subjects regarding that other poster.
It was only a joke.

Damn lack-of-tone in text! Yes I knew it was a joke.
Looks good. Best Splinter Cell in recent times, would you say?

I would say so, but I wasn't able to play the older ones (Chaos Theory, Pandora Tomorrow). I only started at Conviction.
From what I hear from fans, it's second best to Chaos Theory, which is apparently the best Splinter Cell that's been made.
Wicked stuff, I'll look into it. Ubisoft seems to have been doing a good job lately with resetting their Stealth franchises to be more stealthy - and adding Stealth elements to other ones which didn't have many (Far Cry etc.)
If you were online more, DAZ, I'd have invited you to some co-op!
It may be a game I'll get when it's dropped in price. Prenatual does stealth runs of it, so it's probably at least halfway decent in the stealth department. Might be a little on the easy side with all the gadgets.

I hardly upgraded any gadgets. I had a smoke bomb, stun crossbow, and a sticky noisemaker that I used 99% of the time. Some of them don't work on every guard. Different enemy types have different strategies on how to take them out.
Also, you're easily detected. Guards have amazing peripheral vision, so sneaking up takes a lot more planning at first.
Conviction was easy compared to this.
