I miss the old days where consoles were virtually indestructible. My NES still loads every game on the first try and that bitch is over 25 years old. These days you can baby a console and you might get five years out of it if you're lucky.

Not so mad anymore, I cancelled my preorder for Revelations so it was nice to get some cash back into my account. Im considering selling all my PS3 games and just playing PS2 from now on, so I might not even play revelations. However when MGS Rising comes out I might buy a PS3 combo with it.
i don't know much about the hardware in a PS3, so what does YLOD stand for?

i had the RLOD on my PS3 somehow it doesn't do it anymore i think it was 2 or 1 month ago i got hit by the hurricane irene i lost power for a day so when i got power back i played my PS3 for hours and it never happened and right now it doesn't happen

jack - 6 ylod's suggests that there is something in common with all of the failures. do you have a quality surge protector? do you give the ps3 plenty of breathing room? it is close to a heating vent?

They have broken down in different places each time. It looks like it is my fault as statistically this really shouldnt happen by sheer chance 6 times. I just dont get it, I place it in a well ventillated area and I rarely play it now as I dont have internet at my hostel, and university takes up too much time.
Maybe when i go to my parents I just overplay it as there is fuckall to do there.
The ventilation is probably fine, especially if you moved the PS3 each time. I'd say a power issue is more likely
