Signature Dimensions (Mostly PSN Portable IDs)

This is a very minor issue and I'm beig really pedantic here but I've noticed that PSN Portable IDs are slightly too big (width-wise) for the site. To counter this, you can change the dimensions within the BB Code, taken from the PSN Site, when you copy and paste it into your sig. box.

The BB code features one line of URL code followed by the actual img. code. Most of you will know that dimensions can be added to the first [img] tag to determine the size of the displayed picture.

For PSN IDs, the dimension ratio is approximately 5:1 but this makes the image looks slightly squashed for some reason so I had to mess around a bit - even now it doesn't look perfect (yes, I am a perfectionist). I finally settled on the dimensions 485x110 which allow the ID to fit inside the forum box without sitting too close to the edge. This is a ratio of 4.4:1 but it looks better than using a ratio of 5.4:1 which is what i got when I actually measured the ID properly, as this makes the ID look a bit flat (I think anyway)...? Tongue

So to summarise, if you want your PSN Portable ID to fit on THB then add '=485x110' (or similar dimensions) to the first [img] tag in the BB code to get [img=485x110].

You might not even want to change the size of your ID but I personally think it looks better within the forum borders. For other signatures that are too big for the site, find out the dimensions ratio (width:height) and make the width anywhere between 485 and 500. Then adjust the height accordingly, using the ratio to prevent distortion.

On an even more pedantic sidenote, PSN IDs don't sit perfectly centrally for some reason (a few pixels or so to the right) but I'll live with that.

This is almost certainly the most boring and pointless threads ever but someone might use it...

...or even reply to it...

...eventually.

EDIT: I decided to combat the fact that the sig. doesn't look centred by making it smaller again. To get a PSN ID that fits and is centred, use the tag [img=474x108].

EDIT 2:Zooming in and out (using Ctrl and Scroll) affects whether the ID fits or not, as it doesn't change size in proportion with the rest of the screen, so depending on your monitor and its settings this probably won't work. I may have just wasted a lot of time. FML Tired

Thanks for the tips, Patrick. I've moved this topic to the "Site Help" forum.

You won't even feel the blade.

Ok thanks. I'm never too sure when it comes to categorising things Shy
