I think a lot of people, including me, feel the same. It seems odd because none of us knew Steve Jobs but I think pretty much everyone has a connection with him through the use of Apple technology or an appreciation of Pixar films. The fact that he was just 56 years old makes the whole situation even more tragic Sad

Steve Jobs in his speech at Stanford:

No-one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No-one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life.

I remember Lance Armstrong saying, with regard to cancer, that you have to use all of your knowledge and all of your resources to fight it - but on top of all that, you have to be lucky. Steve Jobs was actually very lucky to survive his rare cancer for 8 years, when the usual prognosis is less than 1 year.

Still, I'm sad for all the products that won't be created now, and all the industries that won't be transformed.

"Now you shall get an earful of my beloved sword! Behold, Pillow Talk! Let's rock, baby!"

True Lisa, he is a great loss to the world but he was lucky to stay alive as long as he did and I'm sure he appreciated that.

It's worth remembering that there are many other creative minds at Apple. I'm sure they will continue to create brilliant products Smile

What I'm about you're about to read may be offensive to someone, but I feel like excercising my freedom of speech. If you have something to say, then by all means, go for it.

First of all, my heart goes out to his families and friends. All of them have lost a friend, comrade, father, husband...the list goes on. Apple itself will lose its founder and a leader with an innovating mind. I respect the man as he contributed to the fields of technology and computers. He helped bring computers into the mainstream media, and as a result, influenced so much people.

However, I must comment on the social and economic aspect of his death. As a result of his "timely" death, I predict that the iPhone 5 sales will boost dramatically. Many prominent figures/groups of America (Obama, Mark, Pixar, Disney) have given their thanks to this man. Also, I find it rather unusual for society to respect a man after he passes away. It's as if humans are grateful for what they have after it has been lost. Oh wait - that's true...

As for Bill Gates, I gurantee you that he's laughing his ass of right now. Perhaps Microsoft is gonna buy Apple out of competition - unless the new CEO can keep up with innovation.

Well... some things Vesferatu is true... about the Iphone 5 sales boost...

And also about the respect of dead people, i remember when LOTS OF people said that Michael Jackson was a pedophile, or gay, or stupid, etc.. but then when he died, everyone started to respect him..

What Ves said may be offensive yeah, because Steve is dead now, but it's the truth.. indeed...

About Lisa's comment, i totally agree..

But one thing that we have to put in mind is that maybe the Apple products will start to be less interesting because the main genius, the main mind in the industry was Steve... i'm not saying that the Apple products will suck, but perhaps it will not be to great as it was before. I'm not sure, that's why i'm saying maybe.

to continue on with ya'll .... in about another 6 or 7 months this will be out of everyones minds

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which

Agreed.... as i said, lots of people hated Michael Jackson, then when he died, everyone started to buy his CD's.. and now 90% of the people that hated him and then started to buy his CD's, now don't even remember him.

*sorry for my bad english*

The same thing happened with Amy Winehouse. A lot of acts become more popular/famous after their deaths (at least for a few weeks), even if they were quite popular before.

The Beatles, Elvis and Jimi Hendrix were all very popular while together/alive but have been immortalised by splitting/dying. I think they'd have paled into insignficance if they were all still alive today.
