...on this excellent site that has helped so many people get through the tough/annoying/tedious parts of the previous games. Let's have a thread for things that will help newbies with Brotherhood.
The first thing I can think of is: good-quality screenshots of the different targets, particularly viewed from behind, in multiplayer mode. I've only experienced three multiplayer sessions so far, but the picture of your target shows a frontal view, whereas often you're chasing people from behind, and beginners will probably have a hard time knowing which back-views are which.
My target in the tutorial was the man in a green vest and white sleeves; he was pretty easy to spot from the side or from behind. The Harlequin is likewise very distinctive. But the others, not so much. Several times I was right near my target, but wasn't sure if it was the right person!
Feather guides, Flag guides [especially since you find them inside tombs now], and a Cluster guide.

Now that feathers and flags appear on the in-game map, there's really little need for a guide or maps for those. It's always pretty obvious how to get to said collectible once you see its location. Often you have to upgrade a shop or building first in order to reach it.
Course, some people aren't going to want to traipse around Rome with Eagle Vision flickering just for ten feathers.
thats why they will look at the in game map
I think Ubi just put us out of business
This must be punishment for Ian finding a way to kill the pope, which threw off the story line and started an international incident (not really).
Well, we had a good run...
Honestly I dont see the point in even putting them in the game if they are just going to show you where they are on the map
Thing is, they only appear on the map if you spot them, decide it's a bother to get them, then switch Eagle Vision on. People won't do that consistently.

You don't need to actually see them, just sync with the nearest viewpoint and they'll all show up.

That's weird. I've been synching with view points, and no flags are showing up on my map or mini-map.
Should I look again or something? Because they only appear once I use Eagle Vision and like.. look at them.

That's definitely not necessary because I get flag icons showing up when I zoom in on the map a bit, and I've never looked at a single one with Eagle Vision. In fact, a number of them I hadn't ever been even remotely near them before they showed up on the map.
Awesome, so I just have to sync with viewpoints and they'll show up on my map?
Thanks.
Quick question, if I ignite a Borgia Tower, but only press the ignite button before synchronizing with it, will that still synchronize it AND put the flag locations on my map? Just wondering.
Yes, burning the Borgia Tower will automatically synchronize you with the viewpoint.
It will also automatically collect any feathers or flags that were on the tower too.
EDIT: It seems you are able to purchase flag and feather maps per district in-game. You just have to collect a bunch of flags first for them to become available.

Do you know where I can purchase said maps?
We have our first Brotherhood map on The Hidden Blade:
http://www.thehiddenblade.com/artifacts
It's the five artifacts that Desmond can find in Monteriggioni in 2012. We will add more maps, screenshots and/or video later. For now, the best way to find Brotherhood maps is from the left column: By collectible.

Never mind, I found it. However, it STILL doesn't show me feathers or flags when I sync with viewpoints. Do I have to be a certain point into the game or something? I can view flags and feathers using the maps I buy though.

I haven't purchased them yet, so I wouldn't be much help with that right now.
Whenever I sync a viewpoint or burn a tower, I get all the flags and stuff on my map.

Maybe it's a glitch?
Why would the game show you flags, and allow you to get maps for them at the same time?
Hmm...

Because they only show up via proximity/line-of-sight if you don't have the map, and they (should) all show up when you purchase the maps.

Perfect, thank you very much.
They do appear once I buy the maps. I think I've taken down like 80 flags so far.
Back on topic, a resource people are going to want is how to solve every Glyph puzzle.
Video walkthroughs?
I will probably do another secret area walkthrough
I will probably do another secret area walkthrough
Excellent, those were great (the ACII ones.)
Also if you can include flag locations, that would be pretty cool.
I don't know if we should include this as a resource, because there are WAYY TOO MANY missions for it, but maybe an idea is walkthroughs to Full Synchronization. Some people are sure to be wondering how to get some.
Yea I was going to do that before the game came out but to be honest they are pretty easy
However if there are any fun or challenging levels I will do them anyway, maybe people could request a level that is hard to full synch?
I am about to upload the war machine mission for leonardo, I dont get any kills or and yellow icons on their heads until the chase sequence ( which i didnt know about, was all improve and was really intense as I nearly died a few times
You should upload a walkthrough of the Castello Crasher full Sync. That actually took me several retries because I would restart the whole mission, instead of completing it. Not getting detected is kinda weird for me in that mission. No crowds to blend with.
wow i was just filming that an hour ago, it was exactly what came to mind. I will upload it in a few days
I had an impossible time trying to full-sync Castello Crasher. I took out the first guard from inside the hay (I hung on the ledge watching him for a few minutes, and you can hear him pointing his sword into the haystack and saying things like "if I were a stronzo, where would I hide?" ), and then got the next two with the gun. So far so good, but the next area was impossible!
I think FLAE also mentioned difficulty with that mission, so il definatley record it today
i actually almost had it. the inside of the castle is okay once you figure out how to kill who when.
but i screwed up when i got inside the dungeon halls. i was walking a bit to fast and didn't know there was a guy in the crossing hallway and he saw me
Trying to fullsynch this mission reminds me of gaming back in the day. Where you would make a mistake, and get sent back to the beginning of the level. I kinda like it. The most frustrating part is having to climb the tower OVER AND OVER. It's so slow.
I'm having a lot of fun solving these puzzles and finding secret stuff hidden in the background. Numbers, letter-substitution codes, musical notes; it's great. So far I've only solved one letter-substitution code, and have hit a few snags with the strings of numbers. AC2 was full of this stuff (see Irvine Tomoe's fantastic document at GameFAQs) and I want to be the one to find it first this time!
Im uploading that level now, took me way more tries while recording though

That's true of the required Borgia Tower near the Campagna Barracks in Sequence 3.
The Borgia Tower in the southeast corner of Campagna is different. It has a flag halfway up that's easy to avoid. If you burn the Borgia Tower the flag will still be there, uncollected, on the Assassin Tower.

That's really strange game behavior. I wonder how they designed it that one works and one doesn't.

Maybe cause the one on the tower near the barracks is at the top so Ezio automatically grabs it when he leaps off during the cutscene.
