When information for AC2 was just coming out, and a gameplay trailer showed a plague doctor for the first time, I was already suspecting that the plague would tie into the story. Then, I learned that there was a piece on the soundtrack called, "The Plague". To top it all off, I saw this image: http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/102/1027990/assassins-creed-ii... which strongly hints at the plague.
Then, I finished the game yesterday, and VOILA, no plague even mentioned. What happened, Ubi? Was something else cut?
Maybe something will happen in sequences 12 and 13, because I was looking forward to Ezio getting the black death, and miraculously surviving. What do you guys think? Did you guys notice all this?
While there were recurrences of the great plague over the next several centuries, the worst of it took place during the 14th century. That was long since passed by the latter half of the 15th century. I don't think it had a significant presence during AC2's timeline. Not enough to warrant including it in the story, anyway.
Well, it is true that it is not mentioned in the story, and maybe it will be added in the DLC as you said, but if you pay attention to what the heralds are saying once in a while, you will find many "interesting" stuff, ni Florence I think they mention that there had been outbreaks of plague in the city, which I think was the reason to aislate the south district crossing the Arno.
Exactly, my point is that there are many hints towards a plague occurring in the story, and yet it never does.
Asaic, I was not speaking in terms of historical accuracy, but suspected that the plague would play a part because of the various hints the developers dropped.
Well, the Doctors wear the special Plague MASKS, if you read the database it says something about that. Also, I too, think that the plague will make an appearance in the DLC.
That's what I'm saying, we saw plague doctors, plague drawings, plague songs, but no plague mentioned. Read my first post.
But anyway, did they say anything about the plague when introducing the DLC?
Ubi's added the element of disease into their games before.
I know I've referenced it a dozen times already, but in FarCry 2 Ubi had the main character battle Malaria for the duration of the game. If Ezio caught the plague and it whittled away his health little by little so medicine had to be taken more frequently, I wouldn't be shocked. This would make combat a lot more challenging because you'd have to be a lot more conservative in your approach.
and then you could cough on someone to assassinate them! finally another use for the button xD
I always thought that the button was lacking in purpose somehow, especially in AC1...
You should be able to use the button with female characters to.. never mind, forget I said anything.

Hahaha
To compliment them in a respectful manner?
I was hoping for some interactivity in the Christina Vespucci cutscene, especially with the uniqueness of the puppetteering concept
Bah, maybe in the DLC, but as I vaguely recall he still got his with that horse rider.
Horse rider?
I was expecting some action with Rosa.
No, instead after the horseback race Ezio wins a free "riding" lesson with this ginger woman and they get down to "learning and teaching" in the hay. The horse was present, as was the entire town or Forli...
What horseback race?
The 2nd race in Forli.
Oh, I haven't done any races, because I was trying to go through the story.

Tsk Tsk! I chose to do all the races, because what doesn't break my controller when I throw it across the room, makes me stronger
