Actually being able to USE Pieces of Eden in Assassin's Creed III is like.. a must. What's the point of collecting all those shiny techno-magic things, without being able to press a Shoulder Button on your controller and using their abilities. Alternatively, they could be selected using the weapon wheel, but you can only have one equipped at a time. (You may need to go back to a Hideout of sorts to change weapons.)
I also have a feeling that Pieces will NEED to be used as Desmond, because there are modern firearms in the future, and to avoid making Assassin's Creed into Metal Gear Solid, Desmond might use the pieces to make all firearms turn into melee weapons or something. Or he could turn into Neo and "dodge this".
Finally (and now I'm really pushing it), I would enjoy playing as Abstergo. Just see what their story is really about. The ending should be canon, meaning you inevitably FAIL at the end of the Abstergo story, but it gives you a deeper understanding of the game.
Feedback is appreciated.
As is Feedforward.
Good idea.I think ubisoft should see this.A "Templars Creed" game would really make us understand the story better.
Templar's Creed lol.
I think that game would have to be separate, and a prequel. In the future world before Desmond gets captured.
It would be futuristic, like Project: Snowblind. God, I love that game, and I can't find it anywhere anymore.
I think having a Piece of Eden for full use would kind of ruin a game that already lacks considerable challenge. For example, an assassination would pretty much just be:
"Guards, stop him!"
*Piece of Eden diverts all the guards*
*Assassinate Target Easily*
*Walk out untouched*
With a Piece of Eden, there's really no challenge to the game at all. It's like being in god mode. Sure, being all powerful is fun. But after 5 minutes you get bored and the game goes back on the shelf.
And at the end of the game
The point of collecting the Pieces of Eden is to keep them away from people who would use them for ill purposes. Altair doesn't even use his in Bloodlines
And we've spoken of this dozens of times: Playing as a losing side of someone in a video game does not bode well for the players of said game. Players want to win, and if they beat the game by losing or dying, then the sense of accomplishment is lost. What leaves a lasting impression on people is what they see last, and if what they see last in the game is getting their ass handed to them by Desmond, then they probably won't respond well, and the game wouldn't be that great.
However, what WOULD be fun is a game where we relive subject sixteen. I don't really care about Abstergo, but after all of this Truth stuff with AC2, getting the story of what REALLY happened to subject sixteen inside and outside of the Animus would be really interesting. We could even have Lucy narrating the story since she was there.
A "Templar's Creed" game would only be successful as a prequel, like I said, leading to the events BEFORE Desmond became involved. So perhaps at the end of the game, you win after all, and Assassin's Creed is what happens afterwards.

Yeah, that would be great. I would love to play as Adam/Eve as well, learn about our lord and masters, and how exactly they managed to steal the Apple.
I actually agree with FLAE and Joe.
Here's what I'm curious about. Family trees will tell us that we all descended from someone above us, which means we all eventually came from the same place. That being said, Desmond is related to Adam and Eve. Couldn't they just take the animus and go all the way back then to figure out what they saw in "The Truth?"
They probably could, and possibly will in AC 3.
Before AC2 came out I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that Ezio was the last ancestor between Desmond and Subject 16, which if it is true, that would mean Adam and Eve's memories lie inside Desmond's as well. Aditionally, so would S16's memories of the Roman forum, but not memories of the Gettysburg as that is after Ezio.
Ubi should be careful with which memories they allow us to live through, because they could make one little mistake, like Joecool said, Gettysburg's memories aren't within S16, so they're gonna have to be very careful about plotholes and such. They've never disappointed before, and I doubt they're going to start now.
Well, Ubi makes plenty of small plotholes (or at least, they seem like plotholes currently). Wait, will Desmond have to make another visit to the Vatican, or is the current papal staff a different one than the one that Borgia had?
I thought Ezio took the staff...
It'd be a bit careless to leave it with the alive Borgia. It might be a family heirloom.
Or a Papal Heirloom...
LOL.
They should make like.. unlockables..
Like the "PayPal Staff"
Templar's Creed sound like a great idea.
It could be done without making the Templars 'win' by making the ancestor desert and change sides halfway though the game. You see how your master abuses his PE and one day you decide you had enough of that.
This gives the opportunity to show the more peace-loving side of the Templars and the chaos-causing side of the Assassins in the first missions.
Messing with the players preconceptions about right and wrong in this way would be a great plus
I think making the Templars seem like the good guys and the Assassins seem like the controlling dictators would create a great moral dilemma for the player. There are already people out there that side with the Templars over the Assassins.
Did you seriously try to spoil the ending for all of us?
OH GOD SPOILERS TAGS PLEASE USE
I was halfway through reading your post when you started revealing the ending to Revelations. Please use spoiler tags in your posts when you talk about a game that literally just came out today. I'd like to provide feedback on your thoughts and try to answer your questions but I also don't want to spoil the ending of the game for myself (yet...)
sorry guys,,i deleted the post,,but,,this is not not spoiler,,you can read it http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Keys_of_Alta%C3%AFr
It's a spoiler if it's the ending to the game that JUST came out today. Please don't discuss it without spoiler tags.
I don't understand.. who said what spoilers and where did they say it? Was it me?
Because this topic was made like two years ago.
No, the WatDaDuck member's first post on the thread asked about the ending, and he described it pretty much a day or so after the release date. It was deleted before you got back. haha
Oh phew. I didn't wanna see that haha. I'm actually at the ending now, wondering what will happen.. No spoilers will be coming from me though!
It's a great ending. It leaves you with closure, but enough to keep you growing impatient for AC3. haha
OMG yeah I just saw it yesterday.. It was more Assassin's Creed-y than any other Assassin's Creed ending..
Wow..
My god.. I just don't know what to say man. Except for NEXT GAAAAME
I kinda wished that the modern ending would be playable, and have a more thought out explanation for why Desmond is back in the animus. I guess he collapsed again and is just resting in the animus?
Something you may not have noticed is that Desmond's arm has a spiderweb of glowing blue lines on it now. I'll bet you anything that's going to tie in to some interesting abilities he has in AC3!

Agreed on want of a playable ending. Also, regarding the arm and glowing blue spiderwebby lines.
Re-watch the Truth video from ACII. What do the characters have on their arms/bodies
Ahhhh, clever!
