Many of you noticed that The Hidden Blade was offline for awhile today. What happened is that our web hosting service upgraded our server from PHP 5.2.17 to PHP 5.3.5. This affects the way that database passwords are stored internally (not your user passwords - the master passwords that the site uses to read/write to the database). It was a simple fix to update the passwords.
I blame myself for the downtime. The hosting service had sent me an email 10 days ago which was ample notice. I made a note of it but didn't get around to investigating whether or not the upgrade would impact our site.
It wasn't down for very long and I can't imagine that anyone was inconvenienced in the slightest. No harm, no foul!
What Lisa said, don't worry about it too much Stab... :3
Noticed the brief downtime but knew it must be for a good reason. It didn't last long anyway
Don't worry stab, no one will dare complain - your stabbing reputation goes before you...
Yeah, things need to be upgraded. If it was still down today, I would start complaining. But, it is back up, so all is good.
Such is life. No big deal.
Haha, I haven't had time to come on in weeks and when I finally do, my luck the site is updating...I emailed Stab with fear! I haven't talked to anyone in so long, I didn't know what was happening. What pitiful timing eh? (Stab? What happened to THB? It's down!) Scared the crap outta me. I may not visit often but I love to check in and see what people are talking about when I can.
