and no its not a fan art its in the encyclopedia is it the AC III assassin most likely not but its nice to dream right

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which

She makes an appearance in AC: R so hopefully she's just an extra character. I don't really want her as the new ACIII Assassin.

I don't mind a female Assassin! In fact, I'd love that; it would add something new to the series . It's just that this particular character doesn't suit the game, especially as a main character, IMO. She looks quite cool but I don't think she really fits Puzzled

When I first joined, I had an interesting debate on whether a female Assassin would make sense in the current trilogy. Lisa knows what I'm talking about! Wink

My argument at the time was that, it's possible, but it would seem awkward having a male descendant in the body of a female ancestor. At least in my understanding of the Animus.

EA, I appreciate that you aren't calling things "gay" any more but "damn lesbos" is really along the same lines and just as offensive really. Could you think twice next time before using terms like that? Thanks.

Yes, even though many extreme feminists attempt to marginalize men entirely from their lives and force themselves to become lesbians, labeling an entire group (who's cause is just) is actually very offensive if you call them all on it.

I was just going to ignore it, but I got your back, Lisa! Wink

Yep don't want a ninja ancestor. There are so many better and less-explored options. How about a woman in the Aztec Empire? Or pre-colonial Africa? Germany in the Reformation? Colonial India?

My secret fanfiction dream would be running around Quebec during the War of 1812.

She's the assassin we saw Ezio fighting in the embers trailer. So no.

Is this really news? "Desmond was not descended exclusively from males"

So that narrows it down to two genders for the people who weren't clear on that. : P

Am I? Or did I just read an article that used one paragraph to say absolutely nothing?

It's good that they're considering a female ancestor, but it's nothing to get excited over.

Would you rather no one post any hints at ANYTHING for the future of the franchise? Any and all information is expected to be discussed on sites like this.

Pretty sure "It's possible that the nest assassin could be female" has already been discussed on here.

I'm not trying to be rude to you, I'm just wondering why anyone even thought that writing an entire article for such a small common sense thing and one dev quote was acceptable.

EDIT: BUT, do you have anything you'd like to discuss on that subject? It's not like I don't want to talk about it, but just posting a link to that article only gives me the article to work with, end as I said, it really said nothing.

The title of this topic implies any new developments with a new Assassin, so I posted the latest hints here. Them actually hinting that it could happen in the next one should be enough to spark a couple of comments. I'm not re-posting old articles that are proven false. This what forums are for.

Well, ok. I just don't see how this really adds anything. I can recall several articles asking about wether there will be a female assassin getting the same response.

Since AC2.

Joey, I'm not talking in the context of people who haven't been following. I'm talking about between what you and me know. And this is the same non-commital "sure, female ancestors existed and we're considering it" response that we've been getting forever.

Hence, it's not new info. We should have an FAQ thread for stuff like this if new people need help.

To make my final, and only opinion on your first post clearer: "Well, that doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know even if we hadn't read any articles that mentioned it before. They're considering the next assassin being female."

That is my thought on the subject.

End.

I'm with Aurel. I would definitely get excited over a female assassin ancestor (as Joey can attest Laughing out loud ). I'm pretty skeptical of its occurring in reality though. I think they are just throwing us a bone once in a while.

Joey, go ahead and post links to articles. It's a mystery to me how all youse guys find all this stuff and I appreciate it - because you're doing all the work and I'm reaping the rewards!

Calvar, go ahead and opine on the articles. If your view of the article is different than Joey's view, I'm sure he'll find a way to survive the trauma of it. [/sarcasm]

Nothing to get excited over as in that we have no more confirmation that we did before.

I think it's a great idea, if it happens.

let's stop arguing about how important the artical is (trying to keep the peace )
i have mixed feelings about an woman ancestor because it would be very awkward and strange for desmond but still that could be funny and also an new experience i hope when they do it they don't over do it like that your half the time in a brothel like the courtisane in multiplayer or like claudia but more just like an woman recruit in your assassin order still sneaking in buildings not only be an escourt.

Have we learned nothing from all the stupid action movies with over the top female BA's?

If it's a she, you will not need to worry about her being less capable of awesomeness than Ezio or Altair.

And the courtesan in multiplayer was just as good as any male, so I don't see how she was evidence.

I didn't get any of that from davinci's comment. I actually got the opposite. I'd love to see a main female character, but still stand by the idea that a character like Desmond would find it odd to be manipulating a female ancestor's body. And several players might feel awkward when they finish a memory with the ancestor, then return to Desmond, playing a different gender back-to-back. It wouldn't seem as awkward if they weren't related, but since they are, that changes the whole idea of it. It's difficult to explain.

How is it less awkward to have sex as your male ancestor through the animus?

I'm sure they'll play whatever vauge discomfort Desmond has for laughs, and that will be the end of it.

Playing a different gender back to back is only as weird as playing a different person of the same gender, back to back, to me.

And I was mainly talking about his second half of his comment, where he was worried that the ancestor would just be working in brothels and distracting guards, simply because she is female.

I'm pointing out the risks Ubisoft would have to take. That mostly has to do with reactions from fans. They have to try their hardest to please everyone playing and think of logical, understandable reasons to change a constant flow. It all comes down to business. They pretty much proved the mechanics and everything can work just fine with the multiplayer characters. And also, women were given the privilege to be Assassins, so it's not out of the question.

It kind of makes sense to me to stick with male ancestors in the current trilogy. I wouldn't hate the female ancestor concept at all. I'd love it. It just makes more sense to me to keep it male until after AC3. No arguing, just say your opinions.

Well really, most players would be fine with it. The Courtesan is the most popular multiplayer character.

And the devs are fine with it, they have talked about a lot of the things you're talking about.

I don't think there is any other factor in this decision other than if the story guys decide to do it.

I really think that after a whole series establishing that you can play as a different person through the animus, playing as another gender would be taken in stride by most gamers.

Add in a few jokes from Desmond about how weird it feels, and then there's no need to dwell on it further, and just get on with the story.

Yeah, if they can play on that a little bit, it should work out. My fear was that Desmond would go in and be all, "Yeah...another Animus ancestor..." and not even think about the difference. Even I'd get past it after the first 5 seconds, but I'd still reference it. haha

I just realized how much truth there is in that statement. I wonder what it must have been like for Rebecca to monitor that. I hope she didn't fast forward or she probably would have pissed Desmond off XD

Come to think of it, it must have been even more awkward for Desmond to be an unborn fetus or newborn when he was inside two different Maria's in the same game (Maria Auditore gave birth to him and then later during the bleeding effect sequence Altair... eh... stuck him inside Templar Maria).

Well really, they're good writers. A female is a human too, there's no reason they shouldn't be able to do it right. It's just as obvious as saying "It will suck if they mess it up", like Davinci did. Tongue
