Please make it so that links open in a new tab, rather than the current page. It gets kind of annoying in something like an informative links thread.
Tip: Hold the Ctrl key when clicking links that you wish to open in a new tab.
Yeah, I know. It's just that I sometimes forget and it's annoying when that happens; on other forums links always open in a new tab, which I think is very logical.
Done.
Thank you very much!
Shame on you, Phi. Making stab go through all that trouble. Must've taken him days to do! GAWL!!
Hold CTRL while selecting a new link, huh?
Never would've thought of that in my sleep, but thanks for the heads up!

It's no longer necessary as stab has tended to Phi's every need.
I just right click and select "Open in new tab".

Yeah, I do the same usually. stabby's changes now make links open in a new window rather than a new tab but w/e.

Sorry about that. I see that it opens a new tab in Firefox 11 and a new window in Internet Explorer 8. It's supposed to open a new tab in both. I don't know why it's not working as advertised.
Because Internet Explorer is a piece of **** and noone should use it?
It opens a new tab for me, but I use Chrome. No complaints here.

Sorry, I meant to clarify that I'm using Safari, in which new windows are opened. I suspected it was probably working fine for other browsers and it doesn't particularly bother me.
Has this been changed?
When I click on youtube links, it opens in the same tab instead of target="_blank" like behavior.
I think it's useful for external links (especially youtube) to open in a new tab rather than the same one.
Windows 7 Professional
Google Chrome Version 56.0.2924.3 dev (64-bit)
You're right. The "open external links in new tab" feature is still enabled but it's only working for certain links. Looking into it...
Thanks, Stab!
Fixed. I also configured it to place an icon after external links that will open in a new tab, and an icon after mailto links.
