Greece. The Lambda symbol is suspiciously similar to the Brotherhood's insignia, and it was used on Spartan fighters' shields and stuff.
I'm wondering if they'll mention if this is going to be a preview for next year or if it's back to yearly releases.
From a few screenshots I've seen (Instagram mostly), it looks to be Origins 2 (but with a Spartan main character) that includes dialogue options and more appearance customization (selecting specific hood styles, shoulder armor, chest armor, etc rather than buying entire outfits).

There is literally a QuickSave button accessible from the pause menu. It's like they *WANT* me to cover this game.
Skill Branches now [Hunter, Warrior, Assassin] instead of [Hunter, Warrior, Seer]
- Mage analogue removed, true Rogue analogue added.
You can Reset your entire Skill Setup any time you want at the cost of some Gold. This is cool, allows for more experimentation and trying out different things. It also means they can genuinely make some enemies Difficult if you're setup wrong against them. Clever.
Abilities now Upgrade multiple times per "node/skill" instead of being popped once only. Getting the ability once is just the first step, can pump more into it to improve it statistically.
Different Damage Types based on Tree Type?
I don't think this character EVEN HAS a Hidden Blade. Signature Weapon is [The Spear of Leonidas] and it's also the armament that deals Assassin/Stealth damage...? Someone on the subreddit mentioned that Bayek's Hidden Blade *literally* looks like THE TIP OF A BRUTAL SPEAR and this game *IS* a prequel to AC Origins. I dunno. Just saying.
"It was used to slay the Tyrant Xerxes."
-- Aya, when giving Bayek his Blade.
Xerxes is very obviously an enemy of Sparta and a guy that Leonidas kind of hated. King Leonidas' Spear. Becomes a Hidden Blade. God damn. Can't be a Warrior all your life, I suppose. We all join the shadows in our own way.
The Spear is SO important that it has its OWN Level; just like you could Craft Up your Hidden Blade to hit harder from Stealth in AC Origins. Whether the Spear is in your hands or not seems to matter.
Abilities are divided into Melee and Ranged that you can pull out any time you want by holding either L1/R1 (LB/RB) and tapping a Face Button. This allows you to have Active Skills, instead of all ability unlocks being much more Passive like in AC Origins. Active Skills are *MUCH* more Heavily RPG-ish than what we had in ACO and genuinely change the game in a way the more Passive skill-nature of ACO just doesn't afford.
The Skills at the bottom of the screen are likely passives.
Call Mount, Whistle, Dawn and Dusk, Eagle Tagging, and Leap of Faith. I've heard from a few places that Leap of Faith now needs to be upgraded itself, in order for you to make more and more dangerous jumps, otherwise you'll die from them. That could be interesting.

Undiscovered Leader. Fortified. Regions / Command Posts, areas run by "Templars" have Health Bars, now? You have to clear a path to your target and it seems you can do this in whatever way you feel like. Maybe you can even try to slap him early, but you're probably gonna get wrecked because you're underleveled and he's also ready for you. Do your investigations, take out his forces, and then strike whenever you're ready? Interesting. Very AC1-ish in that broad manner.
Eagle Scouting mechanic is back.
Hoods are in the game. I am appeased.
There are now individual gear elements that drop that you can equip onto yourself. Nice!
DIALOGUE OPTIONS.
The Sparta Kick is literally a Skill.
Proper Black Flag style naval gameplay with your own upgradeable ship?
If it's executed well, it could be one of the best games in the series. That all sounds awesome. As long as it builds on what Origins did, I think this will be another great one.

What I've seen and heard looks and sounds really great. This is going to be interesting to follow.
Instead of a Hidden Blade, our Stealth Weapon is a Piece of Eden Dagger (actually the tip of the Broken Spear of Leonidas) that we just HAVE throughout the entire game, and it's in our off-hand during combat. That is madness.
