Missing Courtesans and Mercenaries glitch
Downloading Bonfire of the Vanities may cause Courtesans and Mercenaries to disappear throughout the entire game (or at least from Sequence 4 onward). Several people have reported this on both PS3 and Xbox.
I don't have much to add at this time. Just creating this topic as a warning to those who need Red Light Addict achievement/trophy and also to track updates about the glitch and any workarounds/patches.
Maybe this will end up being a good thing. If the DLC introduced a new glitch, it gives them a reason to release another patch. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll decide to take another crack at implementing Replay Memory. I know it's probably just wishful thinking at this point, but a guy can hope right.

Thieves. I think one of my favorite things [and one of the few that redeem DNA Sequence 7 for me] is methodically drowning three of each batch of four thieves that you have to rescue, leaving only the required one. I did it by going out onto a rope spanning a canal, luring a thief out, then punching them off. Rinse and repeat.
In my anonymous only run i found theives useful, as i could run across the buildings in a more direct route to my objective and use thieves to distract the archers along the way ( and by distract, i mean somehow stumble to his position and fall off the roof to get his attention)
Some good news: Others have reported no problems with Courtesans/Mercenaries after downloading Bonfire. Hopefully it's a rare glitch.
I'm afflicted by this glitch, unfortunately. After starting a new game so I could go through the DLC in order, I've noticed the missing groups as well. After killing Vieri and going back to Florence, there's nobody except Thieves. Currently just after the first Assassin Tomb, and I haven't spotted any Courtesans or Mercenaries.

The bug report isn't getting much play on the Ubi forums. Those of you with an account should sign on here to raise awareness to the developers.

Just checked Venice on my primary save. There are still Courtesans there, at least. Haven't looked near where Mercs spawn.
