Epic. Just epic.
At first I was a little doubtful of getting this game, but this video just blew my mind away. Anybody else planning to play cops this year?
I've been quietly watching this game for a while now and, I agree, it looks fantastic. The video games industry keeps getting better and better, which is great! Just not for my bank account
EDIT: This game reminds me a bit of Mafia II (similar sort of graphics and time period, as well as the fact that Take-Two own both 2K and Rockstar). I like the twist of playing as a detective/police officer, rather than a criminal or dodgy business man. The detective work and elements of decision making bring in aspects of Heavy Rain, and the MotionScan technology just looks awesome, especially the way it's actually implemented into gameplay to read expressions etc.
i always thought you are just solving one big case. but several makes it more interesting, i'll definitely have too keep a close eye on the reviews for this when they come
L.A. Noire is a game I'm looking forward too, we recently started putting the posters up at my work. The MotionScan was what originally caught my eye, and I loved the idea of a jazzy 40's game. In highschool I did a year's worth of studying crime fiction, and I was completely enchanted by the gritty hard boiled stuff. But my only problem is I'm terrible at puzzles / using clues, so I wonder how much trouble I'll be in when I try this game.
It's going to be hard for L.A. Noire to stand out between the Game of the Year success that Red Dead Redemption had and the impending storm that GTA V is going to create at E3 in a few months (Rockstar just reserved a HUGE amount of domain names due to in-game internet browser, which is what they do every time they plan to announce a GTA game, so a trailer is definitely inbound and soon). Hopefully, it can deliver. Will definitely be picking this up.
Ridiculously awesome so far.
Agree with you FLAE, haven't been able to play anything else so far.
I've recently been looking into it more and it looks great. I might pick it up when I get my first paycheck. Sounds like it's worth it. I haven't heard anything bad about it unless it's labelled as "too slow". Thing is, I like how games nowadays are more story-driven.
My brother actually managed to have my parents sit and watch through the first traffic case. They said they enjoyed it, which is odd considering my parents thought video games were stupid when I was growing up. It's good to see they've broadened their horizons (sort of).
Well a lot of games (mostly M/18+ rated) have recently started to play out like classic films or STARZ and HBO-type series. Anyone with the maturity level above high school will most likely find the story and settings interesting, especially if it has as much care put into it as LA Noire did.
To me, the music is what truly makes everything in L.A. Noire come together. Perfect music in the perfect time, right off the bat from the main menu and being consistent through the rest of the game.
Just beat it. Not quite the powerful ending like Red Dead Redemption, but it was pretty damn close. Fantastic experience overall, but when its all said and done it still feels like something's missing.
Gonna go back and five star everything. I f*cked up on a lot of homicide cases
Since my brother has my ACB at the moment, I decided to get this and play it in the meantime. Should be arriving next week.
Ugh, that reminds me. I still need to find 15 vehicles, complete all cases with five stars and so on to get my 100%
The five stars are particularly annoying. I have to play each case twice at least.
I'll have 1200/1200 next week when the final DLC case comes out. By the way, finding all the vehicles is a pain in the ass, but supposedly there's a trick to getting the last few you need.
Because of the way vehicles spawn, if you look at a vehicle you have yet to unlock (its silhouette) in the car showcase, then quickly go into a free roam session on any desk, the vehicle should spawn next to or near the location you spawn into. It works with all vehicle types except service and hidden vehicles, I believe.
My God this game is awesome. It's hard for me to tell whether I should choose doubt or lie in some cases. I've been pretty good at investigations so far. I usually miss 1 or 2 questions (out of maybe 6 on my average). The movement might need a bit of tweaking, I think. I like the casual walking movement Rockstar puts into its last few games, but this one seems too stiff when you're in an invesigation area. I'd still give it 9/10 (gunplay is meh).
Just wait until you get to the harder cases, Joey...
I finished last night with the "white shoe" case. I can't believe selecting doubt so much on 1 suspect would pay off.
Damn that Courtney interrogation!!! I used everything I had after replaying the mission over again, because I wanted to get it right! I actually quit to the main menu and loaded it up until I used up both manifest copies, the note, the confession, and anything else that seemed similar. Every time, I heard that longer, painful music tone telling me how much I suck at talking to people. I even interchanged the answers each time.
I looked it up today after giving up last night (saving the game to the point after the interrogation) and was told that I had to use the same 2 I've been trying to prove the lies!!! Damn this game! I actually had too many clues for 2 questions.
It gets annoying, doesn't it?
It's still a great game. I hate looking up answers while it's my first time through a game, so that's why I went ahead and guessed what seemed right, saved, THEN looked it up. I think after I'm done, I'll go back and get everything from the missions.
I didn't like how the mission where you have to follow the poems just gave me the answer while I was on my way to the location already. It kind of took the fun out of it for me. But other players might take hours and even brake the game if they never gave you an answer.
*"break"
There's an 'edit'-button in the bottom right corner of your posts, you know.
Yeah, I had lots and lots of difficulty solving those poems, since I know NOTHING about LA at all. I just drove around various landmarks until either I'd hit the right one or the answer was given to me.
I would've hit "Edit", but my phone's online texting is awful. It takes maybe 30 or so seconds to climb a paragraph. I just made it easier for myself.
and they strike again....
