I never payed any attention to this game until I heard that you would receive special content if you played the demo, so I decided to find out a little bit more about it. It didn't seem like anything special so I didn't think about it any more.
Then I played the demo.
It was a revelation. Think of a faster paced Fable gameplay-wise, but with a more serious feel to it, still, having a cartoony look that you can't help but to compare with WoW. Never mind the comparisons, KoA:R is a great game with its own merits, and certainly seems like an entertaining experience.
I don't really expect this game to sell that many copies, although the studio could certainly use the prestige, and I'm surprised at how much EA is putting into advertising the game.
I'll try to get the game as soon as the price drops, anyone else thinking of getting it?
I've seen a playthrough...meh.
This was the game I playtested a few months ago. It was the exact same demo we all can play now, but after a 50 minute mark for my testing, we were able to switch to a combat arena mode from the main menu. If anyone gets the game, look for circular blades of fire as a weapon you obtain. This is what I used in the arena mode (they boosted my character for this mode) and it was fun as hell.
Also, I have to say that the AI companion they gave us was idiotic. They stood back and took shots with a bow and arrow while I took everyone out. There was no need for them to be there. I hope they fixed this for the final game.
