This level has 3 targets, and has another eagle strike!
Again with the eagle strike there is a patrol circling in the opposite direction as the target, so some planning will have to go towards the timing of the patrols. I kill the target near the city entrance first because if you do it last there are too many guards inspecting the other guys body from the eagle strike, and his body also helps synch the patrol and the other target into place.
The actual eagle strike is difficult, I have to turn the camera while jumping to help lock on to the target early, otherwise I usually attack a random civilian or muger that I lock on to. Grabbing the ledge is also hard, you must be placed perfectly and you must be grabbing in the exact angle.
The PC version has an archer stealth assassination instead of this one.
Well done with this. I think the idea of the eagle strike especially in this situation is used to maximum effect. Timing is so important, I really want to try a catch ledge>air assasinate sometime.
Hey thanks for showing an interest in this little series, the eagle strikes are pretty hard in these missions you gotta jump perfectly.
Just the fact that you were able to pull that off and make it look that cool blows my mind when I think about how many attempts it must have taken you to get it just PERFECT. Many thanks for putting this up, Jack, it's pretty legit.
As always, very nice to see Assassin's Creed 1 videos. Although it's the oldest game, it has the most potential due to the more and more intense scripting of the newer ones.. Sad, really.
I find the later Assassins Creed games quite complex, obviously this is to be expected as the story makes progress. I often have to backtrack to keep track of the story, but I can always remember what happens in AC1. Just out of interest, Jack-Reacher it would be cool to see Altair climb a veiwpoint and then when his hood lines up with a target at ground level (or just before) do a leap of faith and then assassinate just as Altiar hits the hay. At around 2:05 I noticed a gold figure pass under the veiwpoint. As he is walking in a clockwise direction relative to the veiwpoint, his back would be turned as you exit the haybale. I have not considered the location of the guard patrol though.
Eagle strikes have to be my favourite.
In AC2 I actually did some leap of faith stuff for some contracts. They looked terrible.
I thought you couldn't air assassinate in AC1?. How do you do that?.

That's correct, thanks JoeyFogey. I should add that air to assassinate can only be done with the correct timing. The best thing to do is target a guard at ground level, or at a level that is below you that requires a significant jump to reach the guard. Run along the structure, target the guard and press "high profile" + "attack" just as Altiar's foot lands on the edge of the building above the guard. He will spring up and assassinate him, I must say the range that Ezio can air>assassinate increases tremendously in AC:B, which is a bonus.
Hope this helps.

Ye, lol
It's a bit too much in AC already. If there will ever be a sequel to AC, they should decrease that to a more realistic level.

What I liked about AC was the fine line between realism and fantasy that it had. Yes, the climbing in AC1 was slow compared to now, but even professional structure climbers (or rock climbers) can't climb as fast as Altair.
Air assassinations are forgivable in multiplayer because that's all about ridiculous fun. I think singleplayer games based on immersion should stick with that immersible feel. Falling from 90 feet onto two guards' necks with your wrists wont end with you getting up without even a sprain. I haven't been into the AC world since I first did that kill in AC2. I thought it was fun, but I couldn't take it seriously.

Nice how im learning all this now. And i don't have the game -_-
Air assassinations are so much more satisfying in AC1 compared to the other games, in the others you pretty much fly around the map wiping everyone out. In this game it takes more skill, and for some reason I think it looks better.
