Although the option to skip scenes wasn't introduced until Assassins Creed Brotherhood, there is a way to skip the memory corridors in the previous game.
Bring up the start menu to pause the game right when the memory corridor is starting during an assassination of a main target. You'll have better luck with long kill animations for a longer window of time. To be safe do this several times in a row. If done correctly you will have skipped the memory scene.
Other Glitches
Two other ways to glitch the memory corridor. First is having the weapon wheel active while the memory scene starts. Second is using a shop.
Apparently this was already discovered and used in speedruns. Oh well.
A long memory corridor is the perfect time to get in a little shopping!
Bah, that was a Brotherhood video. It's not much better than Pause > Skip Cinematic. Your discovery is much more significant.
Honestly, stabguy is correct. I'm not concerned with replicating a function that exists in the game already. I *am* concerned with giving rise to a new one that we previously didn't have access to. Aurel has done this for AC2. ^__^
Right after it was discovered for Brotherhood - it was reproduced for AC2, AC4 and Liberation - and is used in speedruns of these games for a year already.
I stand corrected, good to know. A shame no one decided to look for it, then.
